So I decided to try out Nails by Paul due to their google reviews. I don't usually do my nails, but when I do, I would like it to be worth it. I paid $80 for acrylic gel manicure and a regular pedicure. I personally thought it was not worth it. I love Paul and Tina and thought they were lovely owners. However, my cuticles weren't diligently cleaned and cut by them. I left their place trying to convince myself i liked my nails, but my friends and family thought it could be better for $80. The picture shows my nails 1.5 weeks after it was done. It's not horrible which is why I didn't give it a super low rating. I have met people who love their work, so it depends on what you get. read more

I came to Paul's after a bad experience with a Fashion Nails in Culver City, he saved the acrylics i had. Paul is so nice and he makes you feel like he values your business. At the other shop i felt like they were talking about me and making fun of me, but Paul never made me feel low or criticized. I never felt unwelcome or unwanted. He explained how he was fixing the job as he went and asked me a lot of questions which made the time fly by. For that 45 minutes i was the most important customer he had, or i at least felt that way. it is nice to walk into a place where they take their time, they chat with you and really want their work to be the best and it absolutely shows. He also did my eyebrows and ive never had them look better, he will definitely be my go to. Thanks Paul! Paul is the best but he was busy. So I had another woman do my gel mani. NOTHING is sterilized. NOTHING!!! She cut 2 of my cuticles and now I'm wearing band aids today because they're in pain. Using antibiotic cream also. Polish came out pretty though but won't go back since nothing is sterilized. read more

Worst ever! The pedicure although wasn't bad but $5 for a French tip?! Here's where it really went wrong... I asked for nail dip and during the process I realized it was all wrong, he'd used the base 3x, and he even used glue!!! On every nail! The whole nail and put them under UV lights to dry??? This is nail dip, huh? Then when it was time for the color part he used normal nail polish and told me this is the way it's done pshhhh it's not! And they chipped that day. I'm writing to warn anyone considering this place to absoltuely not go! It's extremely dirty, they share w/ a salon and most importantly, they do a horrible job! I went to get a gel mani and I will NEVER go back. They don't use the gloves to protect your skin, they multi task between customers and they do a very poor job and no massage. My gel mani bubbled up and started peeling within days! That's not normal!. The lady kept re-doing my nails. I wanted to leave so badly! read more

Just left this place. I was attracted to the ad on the side of their building which said "Mani and Pedi for $17.99" , however, upon telling technician that I would rather have gel polish verses manicure , she told quoted me a price of $30 for both gel polish and pedi. She told me should would charge me $15 for pedicure. The prices don't add up. I was thinking of still going through with it, until I saw some old man sitting in the pedicure spa chair, lounging with his sneakers inside the pedicure bowl. Pros: They are friendly and there is rarely a wait. Paul thinks he's a comedian ( may be more of a con because he is overly confident for his skill set) However, At least he has a sense of humor I suppose. Cons: Interior is run down, manicure chairs are old uncomfortable and filthy. It's evident they don't believe in dusting/cleaning based on the thick layer of dust on their hanging lantern decoration and the dirty floors. Extremely limited nail polish selection, and what they do have are cheap off-brand , obviously thinned out polish to "stretch" polish and make it last longer. Their gel polish brand is a cheap off brand that chips after 2/3 days. In my opinion Tina's eyesight is not as good as she may think, her mani's and pedi's are sloppy and uneven. She also does not clean up polish around nails without requesting it, possibly because she can't see the sloppiness. My toenails were so visibly uneven my sister commented on them. She also does not paint the entire surface of the nail( drives me crazy) she leaves large gaps on the sides of the nails. Paul; ( I question his sight as well) is stuck in the past still using airbrush for certain designs, that were uneven and amateur looking ( I requested a design upon my first visit). Also, every time I was in; some client came in with a broken nail needing repair (newly/recently done). Which is a sign to me of his subpar work sadly. I wanted to give this place a chance, being that they were friendly, convenient, and cheap. I know you get what you pay for so with that being said, I don't believe I want to pay for their sloppy work or unkempt shop anymore. read more

This place is a mess. Nice guy, but what a mess. I just got gel removed from my nails and the acetone he used looked a little weird, after he was done using it he put it BACK INTO THE BOTTLE to use again. I'm sure the tools and pedicure tubs are NEVER cleaned. read more

Not only does Tina do a beautiful job at a reasonable price , in a warm welcoming atmosphere ,she has some elderly clients that she personally picks up on her own time , to get their nails / hair done . Got ripped off in friendly way...sloppy, sloppy job. went back 24 hours later to fix a sloppily done acrylic (to try and save a nail's length; after re doing that nail, it was sloppy too...again!) I got gels btw....Paul did not go all the way over the nail's sides and tips so that the gel started to peel within 4 days. gels can last me 3 weeks, I guess they wanted me to come back sooner. Um. No. I'll go back to my usual place of the past 5 years who do it right. I also got a pedicure that was not standard by far. No massage no soak, no cuticle removal; just a quick file and apply polish. I paid $36 plus a five dollar tip just because I always feel guilty going into a nail shop. Anyhoo...won't be back. Nice and friendly however. read more

I've only recently started getting my nails did and with varying degrees of success. Usually I google "Closest nail salon to me" when I'm out running errands, I pop in wherever and leave decently satisfied. One time I wasn't happy at all and needed the bad work quickly corrected. It was 7PM on a Sunday so I wasn't sure if anyone would be available to help me out. I googled "Closest nail salon to me open right now" and Paul's Nails was the first item to pop up. Paul not only fixed my botched nails from the previous salon but he did the world's most beautiful job. I'm in actual love with my nails and everyone else loves them too. I love to show them off, they are gorgeous and beautiful. They're stunning and they even glow in the dark. Paul did my nails in about half an hour and the price for his great work was incredible. He guarantees the nails for a month too and will fix them for free should anything go wrong. Nothing has gone wrong. I am still totally in love with my nails and I can't wait to go back and get Paul to do something amazing with them again. read more

Just hard the most disappointing experience at Pauls.... First time visit, Tina did my nails.... A manicure and a gel pedicure. She didn't trim my nail cuticles and both hands and toes have polish outside of the base. I had to asked her to clean them..... She didn't do a good job at cleaning, however I didn't push it, I just took this appointment as a loss. The gel color needed another coat, the toes painted poorly as well. When I told her I was paying with my card, she asked how much was I adding for tip . She was very pleasant, but service below expectations..... I basically got a poorly done nail polish, not a professional manicure or pedicure. read more
