So, my sister comes here all the time, but she's not one to indulge in a great mani pedi. I knew walking in that it wasn't going to be stellar, but I left feeling like I needed to maybe hit another salon on the way home for a true pedi and good polish. Expect the BARE minimum as far as the actual pedicure goes. It was a quick once over of everything with no attention to detail. No leg massage at all, and really I wouldn't consider what they do a foot massage either (less than 5 min). When my toes were done I had polish that needed to be removed from the edge of my toe, cuticle that needed to be cut, and I'm pretty sure she mixed up the polish I gave her at the beginning for a slightly darker shade. The polish, though OPI, also looked as if it had been watered down. I had a translucent streakiness. Further, they didn't paint the edge of the nail, so I could see where my nail had been cut. And finally, to top it off, when she was touching up polish because I was trying to do it myself, she got polish on my brand new sandals and said nothing! I am definitely not going back again. It's a little out of the way for me, because I don't live in San Carlos, but Nail Time & Spa is well worth the trip for one reason: Tony. I know a lot of girls might think it's odd to go to a guy for a mani/pedi, but hear me out. Not only does he do good nails (i.e. they look great, last a while, and he doesn't hurt you along the way) but he gives an actual, legitimate, amazing leg and foot massage. The man has skills! You know how usually they just sort of halfheartedly rub your feet for a couple of minutes and then move on? Not with him. I've actually timed him and his massages last a blissful 7-10 minutes per leg! You really feel like you're in a spa! He is also laid back and easy to talk to, or not if you just want to flip through a magazine or close your eyes and relax. Plus: he will always have a special place in my heart because one time I came in and told him that my car was overheating and he came out to help me put water in the radiator! I mean, come on, that's going above and beyond. The price is right, this place is clean, and it's pretty centrally located. My only gripe: when they get busy they tend to forget about you once you start drying, so be prepared to pull your own toe-cotton out and put your own shoes on afterward. read more

I come here pretty regularly for manis/pedis...I live 2 miles up the road so it is very convenient, and the prices are affordable. There have been a few times I haven't recieved the best mani/pedi but it depends on the tech. Overall I have had good results and i like that the place can accomodate a lot of people. They pretty much have the same staff there that they had 5 years ago so that is a good thing. They are consistent with pricing and service. read more

Ive gone to this place multiple times. It was hard to find a good nail salon once I moved and I thought I found it here. It wasn't until my last encounter when my mind changed. A few weeks prior I went and got a fill with gel color and it was $22. Two- three weeks later I went and did the exact same thing and they changed me $30- which I easily could have gotten a new set for that price. When I looked at the price list that they have above it clearly reads "Gel Fill $23". They do a good job on doing my nails but I am not about to be robbed money when the prices are listed right above me. They either need to figure out what the exact price is and tell all their girls the same price or figure something else out because within the hour of me getting my nails done multiple costumers had a look of surprise when they were told their payment amount. read more

Awful. Went in for a shellac manicure. When she took out the drill I immediately told her no but she convinced me it was the best way and it wouldn't hurt my nails. Shellac came off in less than a week and she filed my nails down so much, there are pink spots on each nail. Now they are thin. During manicure, all she did was gossip with the other ladies. I really enjoy this salon and the staff, especially Yen! I always feel welcome and am given individual attention and not the "wham bam thank you ma'am" that some salons do. The prices are fair, as they have different options for either manicure/pedicure. I typically only go for pedis and have gotten every service from their basic spay pedicure to their more pricey one with extra massage, parafin, and scrub. Each has been superb and I would recommend them to anyone. In fact when my sister comes to town she usually goes for her pedicure because she has had such great experiences there too. They use high quality products and don't skimp on the top coat, so your main/pedi will last a while! Also, I love that they accept credit cards, because I never carry cash. I would recommend calling ahead for an appointment on weekends because it does tend to get busy, but most weekday afternoons I have been able to walk right in and get services immediately. read more

It was my first time here & I was getting fills on nails I had done at a previous salon. She fixed the shape on them and made them thin because I don't like the thick acrylics. I don't know her name, she didn't really talk but she made my nails look better. I will definitely be coming back for fills again. But my sister got hers done as well, the child priced nail polish. They were very pretty, but I feel like she could've taken more time on them. And she filed down my sisters nails, when she wanted them long still. But other than that they were beautiful. They are all very nice however the products they use are cheap and its a big waste of moeny and time. I went in on sunday for a gel mani and pedicure.. by Monday my nails were chipping so i went back and they did a new set and by WEDnesday ( 2 days Later) the nails were chipping. This shop is close to my home and has great business hours, the people are very friendly, but sadly the quality isn't there. I went there for 6 months and most of the time got a good job done, but I got the same lady 3 times. When she'd do my nails I'd have a problem with the acrylic separating from my nail (I've had acrylics for 10 years and never had them separate from the nail). My last visit there she did my nails. While doing my nails she hurt my fingers and even tore one of my nails causing to bleed. Same as when she did my nails previously, was very distracted and more interested in the going on's in the salon that doing my nails. When I left my nails were lumpy and uneven. I won't say her name or what station she had because she was very nice - I just won't be back. read more

I went and got acrylics put on only 5 weeks ago. I went back 2 weeks later and had a fill done. 2 1/2 weeks after that I went back for another fill and the acrylics were peeling up on 3 nails with one of them all brown. I was mad. I have had my nails done for 4 years when I was younger with no such problems. I decided to have them removed because I wasn't sure what was going on with my nails. The manicurist proceeded to rip my nails off without any soak. They still hurt right now as I type. She then drilled my own nails making them rough and thin. When not all of the discoloration on the nail went away she told me it must be fungus and I need to get a full set done more often. I explained I had the set done here only a month ago. She then tried to charge me $7 for a cream to fix it which I passed on. She slapped some nail hardener on my nails and then charged me $16 for ripping off my nails and painting them clear after there cheap product and rush work possibly left me to get an infection in my nail. To top it off if it is a fungus she used all the same products on my nails that she will go on to use on everyone elses... I don't care if it is cheap... I probably got an infection in my nail from them doing the same thing using tools on someone elses nails... and now someone else may get it from mine. Find somewhere else. read more

My friend came into town for the day and after running a full marathon the weekend before and myself being 6 months pregnant I thought we both deserved some "me" time. After looking on Yelp I saw that Nail Time and Spa had wonderful reviews. Just a few minutes from our house we set off excited for our little treat. Much to our surprise "little" is exactly what we got. We were nicely greeted at the door, since we were walk-ins we weren't expecting to be seated right away, and it was only a 5 minute wait. While I don't expect the water to be scalding hot I do expect it to be a nicely heated, neither one of our basins were warm. My friend's "spa" pedicure took a whopping 15 minutes. Mine lasted a bit longer but when it came time to massage my legs (which I might add my friend didn't even get her legs massaged) a mixture of cuticle oil, tiger balm and pedicure lotion were used. I had also asked to get a quick polish change. A gentleman came up to the chair and got to work on my nails. Again, while I don't expect a full manicure in exchange for a polish change I do expect some know how of filing my nails. I take incredible pride in my nails (yes, it sounds silly) and they were completely butchered. The edges were rough and uneven and the polish was poorly applied. I will not be returning to Nail Time and Spa nor will I be recommending it to friends. read more

The guy who did my pedicure was nice and did a good job. He gave me the option of staying in the chair to have my nail polish dry. Later, a rude lady used a disrespectful tone to tell me to get off the chair. I told her that I was waiting on them to tell me I was ok to leave, since they had me in the chair. She took my shoes and told me I needed sandals, took the sandals and walked away. Told me to get off the chair again until she saw that I wasn't going to walk barefoot. I asked her if the nails were dry ( so that I could wear my own shoes) and she said they would finish drying outside. She was very rude and it felt as though she was practically throwing me out. To top it off, as I was getting off the chair, this other lady was going to clean and area and sprayed Lysol on my foot, she could have waited until I walked away. There are many nail places and this is one where I won't be going again. Customer service and first impressions are important. read more
