I usually go to the Haute Spot in north Atlanta but i couldn't make It so i decided to try somewhere local. Huge mistake. When i got my nails done here Thursday, two broke Friday...i told my nail tech that they were too thin in the first place. The next day, they all broke!!! I'm not lying. Of course i called and told them I'd be in on Sunday to get them redone, unfortunately. The second time, even worse. She couldn't keep the shape and add just a little thickness at the same time. I kept showing her that my nails were different from one another and making her do the job correctly. I just went home and filed them straight myself. I'll insert photos of how she also drilled the surface of my nails unevenly. I took the photos after i , myself, filed them straight. And as you can see, they're slightly thicker than before...just slightly. I don't recommend coming here for added length or acrylic style nails. Update - the salon contacted me after this review and asked that I let them redo my nails since I wasn't happy with them. I eventually went, and although there seemed to be some confusion about my appointment and who was going to help (I was told it would be the manager, it wasn't) I was happy with the outcome. Jamie did a great job. If I were to ever go back I'd see him. I usually go to another salon in Brookhaven but went here last Friday while I killed time before dinner plans next door. I won't go back. The SNS I got looks terrible, super thick and uneven. I just have to ride it out for a couple of weeks until time to switch. The nail tech was very distracted, however overall the staff was friendly, butI'm extremely disappointed with the outcome. Will go back to my usual spot next time. read more

This was my first time coming to this salon. After readingg the reviews i decided to give them a try. When i first arrived it was full so they asked if i could come back 1hr later since only 3 of the techs could do the ombre powder nails, which i didn't mind. I made the appointment for acrylic tips with white tip design. When i got there the lady asked again what i wanted done so i told her acrylic tips with white tip design she then told a male coworker the same thing... The Man that did my nails did not put tips and just want on working on my nails.. i felt like he was rushing... at this point he was done with one hand so there was no turning back.. when I said something about the length and wanting them longer the lady doing my toes says to me well they will grow.. i was shocked and said politely but this is not what i asked for... NO APOLOGIES AT ALL I went there to for three different services and left with two services done and my nails and toes were not what i wanted.. I was really surprised to see the negative reviews on this place. I've been going there for more than a year and never had a bad experience. It's a typical strip mall nail salon. They have about 8 spa chairs and they have some sort of removable liner in the tubs which seems more sanitary. Lots of magazines to choose from. Prices seem decent. Though I've gotten my nails done here many times, I usually frequent Nail South for their waxing. $10 for a brow and lip wax. You can't beat that. I always just walk in on my lunch break and have never had to wait more than 5 minutes. Plus, they let you put the tip on the credit card if you tell them in advance. Lots of nail places don't and I never really carry cash, so that's a definite plus. read more

I've tried other places in ATL when I moved here, but this is the only place that I can say felt very homey. I like the location and I really like the ppl. They're always busy, and they always make sure you're taken care of. There's hardly any wait and they definitely don't rush you when you're there. Update: I want to retract my previous review, and I would like to add another star as well!! See below......I was personally contacted by the manager, by text and she also called me on the phone! They apologized for what happened, and offered to fix the nail a week later at no charge. The fact that they wanted to make things right, means a lot!! The last time I went was last Saturday, and it was pretty crowded and I didn't have an appointment so I had to wait awhile, which I can't complain.....it was a last minute decision to go there and I have always been very satisfied with my nails they have done in the past, so I didn't mind waiting. I had requested ombré nails and they used the powder, the girl tried very hard and she spent nearly 2 hours on me. It actually kind of pains me to give such a bad review, which is why I gave them three stars instead of two. Unfortunately, just today one week later, one of my nails broke as I was opening my car door. And there was another nail that was starting to break as well. Very disappointing. The staff here has always been very friendly, and pleasant. They have actually have done some remodeling, so everything looks very modern. Again, I hate to give them such a bad review considering I have been here in the past and always been pretty satisfied. I passed this place a few times and noticed the sign saying 'best pedicure'. I had to come try it out, because I haven't had a good pedi in a looong time. The girl at my regular salon is a darling, and does the nails great, but she does a half ass job of scrubbing. I needed a good scrub. Unfortunately I didn't get the lady's name, but she gave me a paraffin pedi and do an awesome job. She was very thorough on the scrubbing and got off all the dead skin that I was concerned about. A guy did my gel mani and I have no complaints. They have a courteous loyalty program that I joined, as I'll definitely be back! read more

I've been going to Nail South for about 8 years and most of the time my service has always been great. I stop going bi weekly and would go there sometimes. However, I decided to stop in today for service. Today was my FIRST DAY with a very nasty attitude and rudeness from the itty bitty little girl who weighs about 75 lbs working in there as nail tech. She was very rude from the time I sat down. She first ran all cold water and told me to sit down and put my feet in. I first and tom touch the water to see if it was warm enough and I figured it wasn't because I never seen any steam. I told her it was too cold and it needed to be warmer. I didn't like her tone AT ALL. Fast forward... She was trying to talk to me like I was a kid of hers. I had to REMIND her that I was nice a child and I was 50 yrs old and I know I look really young for 50 BUT you can not talk to me in that tone. She started removing my polish off my toes that I had already had on and I noticed after she use the cotton to get it off , it still was polish around my toes when she start to file them. I brought it to her attention and she was being SMART with her comment. It really pissed me off at that point. I told the manager that this wasn't going to work with her and if someone else in there could service me that would work out better for me. The manage came down and asked me what was going on and I told her. ( Itty Bitty ) start talking in her language saying whatever. I knew I would have been locked up if I would have sat there any longer and she getting smart, I would have made todays NEWS at 12pm . Shen didn't have a clue who she was dealing with. I tried to be a real grown about it BUT she won't last long in there with that attitude and smart mouth. Some sister will be ready to knock her lil ass OUT! There is never a long wait, the staff are very accommodating and friendly, and there are so many different colors to choose from including gel and S&S. All of the staff are very good at doing nails but Tenny is my favorite. I have been going to her consistently for the last two years and she does not disappoint at all with both gel and S&S. Came here for a basic pedicure after work. She asked if I wanted my nails trimmed, and I said just a bit. She pretty much couldn't have trimmed them any shorter. Also, the paint didn't cover my whole nail. I understand they don't want to flood the nail bed, but she really could have done a better job trying to match the shape of my cuticle and getting closer. Massage portion definitely could have been better as well. Service was okay. Overall, it could have been worse but I will definitely go somewhere else next time I need a pedicure. read more

Made 2 appts for mani/pedi for 6 last Wedneday. Arrived together at 5:55, picked out colors. Had 2 bags slapped on our hands with some lotion (no hot mits) a little scraping of the nail bed, little trim (accompanied by some a deep cut and blood - admittedly my skin was dry). 6:15ish we're seated in pedi chairs. 6:40 I'm still sitting there with no water, no one has said a word to me, my daughter is about 15 minutes into a mediocre, soft massage pedicure, she's paying $50 for a hot stone message....the stones are barely warm so she asks if the tech could please heat them (complete eye roll from the tech). Meanwhile, I'm still waiting and watching 2 people come in 30 minutes after me, they've got water and techs working on them....so I say to the lady that's doing my daughter's pedi "I think I'll just come back another time" (another huge eye roll and some talking back and forth in a language I don't understand) so I get up take the plastic bags off my hands and walk to LA Fitness to check it out. Come back, my daughter still has plastic bags on her hands and is completely wrinkled up (we did get a good laugh out of it - will post a time stamped pic in the salon, just in case any one doubts the details). THEN THE WORST PART is yet to come - we're at the check out (I've decided to write this one off) and they say "TOGETHER or separate" Together? For what? The tech that her nails speaks another language to the boss (female) and they both start shouting that we will pay for the "manicure" huh???? No polish, no nothing, just wrinkly skin. I was blown away...we ended up paying $63 ($50 for a half ass pedi and $13 for nothing) AND left a tip because we just wanted out!!! If that's how you want to spend/waste your time and money, be my guest...fair warning! read more
