Today was my first time coming to this nailspa. I was recommended by my sister. My technician was, Scarlet and she did a fantastic job! She listened to me and was very thorough. My massage was so soothing and my feet feel fantastic! The salon itself is beautiful and very clean. Everyone is very polite and professional. Will definitely be coming back!

Great first time experience. I wanted to try a place closer to my home. Found Nailspa excel and appreciated the good reviews. I arrived a few min before opening and they were already taking customers. That was perfect for me because I was on a time crunch. I got seated right away and Scarlett helped me. She was so sweet and communicative. I really appreciated that she wanted my toes and feet to look great. She did a great job and I will be back to see her. Salon is spacious and plenty of stations. My go to salon. The atmosphere is nice and they keep everything clean. All the technicians are pretty consistent and do a great job no matter who you get. Today I had Scarlett & Anna and both did an excellent job, were friendly even helped with my photo. I always get a gel manicure and regular pedicure, my color lasts the three weeks I come. I often bring my daughter to get her nails done when she is in the mood. She loves getting regular nail polish and designs she usually chooses and they always come out super cute!

For Fiona Fiona did my pedicure and she was amazing! She was very gentle, friendly, and took her time. My feet and toenails looked so clean and beautiful afterward. I'm very happy with her service and would definitely recommend her! For Scarlett Scarlett did my manicure and she did a beautiful job! She was very careful, professional, and paid attention to every detail. My nails came out so pretty and neat. I really enjoyed the experience and would definitely come back to her again.

Had the best experience at Excel! I came in for a walk-in. Went in the morning time and was told it'd be 10mins as they already had clients. They then sat me at their counter and proceeded to complete such a great cat eye set for me. Usually I am extremely picky about shape and if my cuticles look cleaned up, however the guy that helped me was very thorough and super kind! Asked many questions about the shape and if I felt any pain, was very clear on the price differences, and even recommended gel x over acrylic ($10 cheaper) for the sake of my nails. Overall 10/10 experience and they'll definitely have me as a future client.

They took the time to carefully correct my previous Gel-X set instead of rushing through the appointment, and the final result looks beautiful. The staff was professional, patient, and paid attention to detail. I really appreciated that they listened to what I wanted and made sure I left happy. So I am a very picky person specially when it comes to getting my nails done. I found this amazing place that's about 35 minutes away from my house. There are so many nail shops in between but by far this has been the best place. Tan is so nice and does incredible work. When you arrive, he greets you by your name. He really cares about his clients. The quality of work he does is impeccable and I highly recommend this shop. I know so many nail techs who do stuff out of their home but this place is such a vibe. It's relaxing. It's comfortable. It's pleasant. It's definitely not cheap but you get what you pay for. read more

Hands down, best nail salon I've ever been to! Great service, friendly staff and amazing nails!! Every time! I asked Tan for ombré nails but my nails were shorter so I know it would be difficult. Decided to try a new nail salon, and a bit disappointed . Fiona was great! She gave me a gel manicure and it looked great! very happy about that. As for a pedicure I had a lady. She cut my toe nails cricked, I asked for a french pedicure it was uneven, and I asked her to fix it but she said it looked fine. In the clear part of the french there was still white nail polish all over it. And the clear coat she put on top was grainy. I requested a spa pedicure and she didnt massage legs or feet. I wish I could give this place ZERO stars. I made an appointment at 1:30 on a Monday. Told her exactly what I needed. I have kids, so I had a babysitter from 1-3pm, because my appointments never go past 1.5 hours. Got there right at 1:30 and there were two other ladies getting their nails done. I noticed there were 3 people working. At 1:50pm The gentleman started to put the foil on my nails to remove the gel. I had been waiting 20 min so far. Then he went to another lady to do her nails. I'm waiting and waiting and waiting. Finally at 2:15 a lady finishes up and comes over. At this point I have only 45 min to get a manicure and pedicure. I told her that I did not have time and had been waiting since 1:30. The gentlemen says across the room "it should only take 35 min". Wait what? 35 min to do a gel manicure and dip nails? I tell him I don't have time and I have a babysitter than needs to leave at 3pm and to just remove the gel. She removes the gel and at this point it's 2:30pm. This is the best part!! I ask her how much and she says something to him and he says $30!!! I said "excuse me what?!" And he said that it was $15 for toes and $15 for hands to remove gel. I could understand and justify $5 or $10 but $30?!! I told him that I made a 1:30 appointment and it took 45 min for someone to come over. He kept arguing with me and I didn't want to make a scene so I paid the $30 and left. Then in my car noticed THAT SHE DIDNT EVEN TAKE ALL OF THE GEL OFF! I will definitely not be coming back. The gentleman was rude to begin with and the fact that he was arguing with me saying that my appointment could be 2 hours after trying to get me to stay saying that it would take "35 minutes" is ridiculous. Seriously do not go here. Waste of $30 and waste of my time read more

I have gone to every nail salon in La Verne over the past 10 years. I usually hop around, but not anymore. Nail Spa Excel is the best for my long, natural nails. I prefer the dip powder and Tan consistently shapes my nails perfectly. They are always even, never too thick, and last at least three weeks. I have been a regular customer at Nail Spa Excel for over a year and highly recommend it. All staff are professional, talented, and friendly. read more

I have been going to Nailspa Excel for many years. I really appreciate the excellent customer service and cleanliness of the place. Unlike other salons, there is practically no strong smell of chemicals which I always dreaded due to the headaches it caused when visiting other nail salons. Nailspa is the only salon I've been to that uses an air filter to eliminate any smell which tells me they care about their customers health. Tan the owner really takes his time to create a relaxing and comfortable experience for all of his customers. The staff puts a lot of emphasis on the customer experience to ensure you are relaxed the entire time. This is another reason I will continue to be a loyal customer for many years to come. read more

Shout out to Tan, Karina, Sabrina, and Holly. Last year, Tan recommended Gel X for my nails which were weak and damaged from gel polish. My nails are now much stronger! This review is directed specifically at Tan, the business owner, who intentionally overcharged me, displaying a complete disregard for communication, professionalism, and honesty. If I could give this salon -10 stars, I would do so gleefully. Tan, your behavior as a business owner is nothing short of appalling and it's time that you enroll in some basic classes on business ethics, customer service, and professionalism. This was my second visit to the salon, and it will certainly be my last. Furthermore, I will actively discourage all my friends from setting foot in your establishment and instead urge them to seek out businesses where their patronage is valued and respected. Earlier in the day, I called to book appointments for myself, my sister, and my mother. During the booking process, I specifically inquired about the prices for each service. I was quoted $27 for basic pedicures (for myself and my sister) and a total of $62 for my mother's services ($35 for a gel manicure and $27 for a pedicure). Imagine my utter shock when I was presented with a bill totaling $119 for my mother's services alone. Not a single person in the salon mentioned any additional charges beforehand. I was overcharged for every aspect of the service, including shape, length, and a $30 fee for the removal of a prior gel mani pedi, without any prior notice. Furthermore, Tan neglected to inform us that the gel color we chose only came in powder form, resulting in an additional charge. When I confronted Tan and requested a breakdown of the pricing, he became defensive and emotional, claiming this is his standard practice. However, I have never encountered a nail salon that charged such exorbitant fees without prior notification. In other service industries, such as fast food establishments, customers are informed of additional charges before they are incurred. Had I been given the opportunity to accept or reject these charges beforehand, I would have made a different decision. In conclusion, my experience at your salon was nothing short of a nightmare. Your deceitful tactics, lack of professionalism and communication, and complete disregard for integrity have left a bitter taste in my mouth. I implore anyone reading this review to steer clear of this salon, unless, of course, you enjoy being subjected to unethical business practices and unreasonable charges. **UPDATE AS OF BUSINESS OWNER'S RESPONSE: the business owner alleges that he reported us to the police dept. LOL reported me for what--asking questions, writing a negative review, warning other patrons? I paid for me and my mom's services ($147 receipt attached) and my sister, who paid separately, tipped your employee generously. Tam, it's pathetically ironic and hypocritical of you to assume we come from another country when you yourself are an Asian immigrant business owner who cannot speak fluent English. This is why we had miscommunication in the first place. I was never rude to you nor did I raise my voice. As a paying customer, I have every right to ask questions about my bill when being overcharged in the end without prior notice or communication. But anyways, GO ahead and "report" me lol. I hope that helps you sleep better at night. As previously mentioned, I will never attend your banal business establishment again. My manicurist was very nice, did a good job on my nails, and they had a great color selection, which is something I really look for in a nail salon. I had no complaints about my manicure. What left me uncomfortable was what happened at the end of my appointment. As she was finishing up, my manicurist asked me to leave a 5-star Yelp review. At first I thought, sure - the service was good, so I didn't think much of it. Then she asked me to make sure I uploaded photos. She asked for my phone and took several pictures of my nails to post with the review, which was definitely a first for me. I went along with it because I was told I would receive a discount for leaving the review. After I posted it, though, she asked me to make the review longer and even gave me suggestions for what else I should write. I edited it and then had to show her the review, apparently in order to receive the discount. She also asked for my phone so she can check me in... By that point, the whole thing felt extremely uncomfortable and forced. I deleted the review as soon as I got to my car because it didn't feel like an authentic review that I had voluntarily written anymore. The experience has bothered me ever since, especially because their Yelp reviews and customer photos were part of what influenced me to come here in the first place. Now I'm left wondering how many other reviews were written under similar circumstances. Again, I have no issue with the actual nail service or my manicurist personally. she was kind and did a good job. My concern is specifically with the practice of asking customers for a 5-star review, offering a discount for it, taking photos for the customer to upload, asking them to make the review longer, suggesting what to write, and then asking to see the finished review. If this is being done routinely, I think prospective customers deserve to know that when considering the rating and reviews. read more

happy happy customer since 2024! i honestly can't even count how many times i've been to this salon…read more(pretty much every month since then). i live in west covina and drive all the way to la verne just for this service. forever thankful for my friend who put me on. typically i get a gel set with a special design and a pedicure. camie, summer, mia, and billy are my go-to's. honestly, everyone at this salon is so thorough, patient, and knowledgeable. let me set the scene -- i come in with my appointment, get seated right away, and i'm instantly treated to a foot spa and the best massage chair ever. i show them my inspo pics, we pick out colors and gems together, and then they get started with the prep. they really take their time with this part, making sure my cuticles are perfect and my nails stay healthy. i never have to worry because they're true pros and always deliver the best sets. 100% they'll always get my dime :) i leave feeling so confident every single time, and i get compliments on my nails everywhere i go!

For my pedicure, an older gentleman took care of me, and he has done an excellent job every time I've visited. My pedicures always last a long time and still look great weeks later. I've continued booking with him because I really do love his work. Unfortunately, the customer service side of my appointments has become increasingly uncomfortable. Michael's attitude can come across very rude and dismissive at times, and my most recent appointment was uncomfortable enough that I finally felt the need to say something. I understand everyone can have an off day, but this has happened more than once and seems to have progressively gotten worse. I also feel the salon could improve with time management. Appointments can run behind, which I understand happens in this industry, but it has happened enough that it's worth mentioning. I work in the beauty industry myself, so I completely understand busy days, difficult schedules, and that we're all human. But I also believe that when clients are paying for a service, they should feel welcomed and comfortable during their appointment. I really do love the quality of the work here, which is why it's disappointing to feel this way and why I hope the customer service improves.
