Horrible work and service. I got a dip manicure and two nails had chunks missing by the 2nd day. I went back to have them repaired and they told me I needed to make an appointment. They didn't seem to care that the work was so poor. Two more nails chipped off that same day. They're also way more expensive than what you're used to and obviously not worth it for the poor quality work. read more

The salon is a gem in the city! Visited it on a Saturday morning right after they opened and it was a great experience. I went with a no chip manicure, which had over 300 color choices. The technician was very helpful at recommending popular colors. My nails still look flawless after 4 days, so I will be back for a pedicure. read more

As other reviewers have said, this is the most expensive place you can go. I went in for no-chip, and asking for a specific design. I showed the woman the design, and she agreed to do it. For the design, I'd give her a 7/10 compared to the photo I showed her. Then I get up to the register and I'm told I owe an additional $15 for the design, which I was not informed about prior to agreeing to the design. I was expecting about $5 additional. Never going back again, which is too bad for them because I live very close. read more

I went here because they're open on Sunday and close to my house. Most uncomfortable vibe ever. The nail technician said not ONE word to me, not hello, not anything. The look on her face the entire time read "I'd rather be anywhere but here". She did a very good job but it was so uncomfortable. Plus they charge $5 more than all other nail salons in the area. I think because they offer a wide variety of chemical free and formaldehyde free products, it's considered a "green" nail salon? (Insert champagne and happy friends dancing emoji). My nail technician Nomin? was polite and meticulous! The pedicure was great. Nice color selection of many top polish brands. Warm and clean foot bath, A+ job ontop of it, even bothering to scrubs my toenails with a soap brush for extra cleansing. A very enjoyable exfoliation, then a lotioned massage. Detailed paint job, making sure to paint the nails perfectly and going around the inner edges with a thin polish remover brush for accuracy. The no chip mani was almost as good, except I maybe didn't specify how short was too short. My left hands fingernails were cut a little too short for my liking where you can see the tops of my fingers more so than the nail. The only other thing that bothered me was that they charged me an additional $5 to soak off the no chip I had prior which is something that has always been included in every other salon. I thought that odd. $70 is a hefty price for the mani/ pedi plus an extra $5 for soak off. read more

I went for a manicure yesterday afternoon, finished at about 2:30 p.m. Around 5 p.m., I noticed I already had a chip. It's only gotten worse since, with significant chipping on 6 nails!! Anyone who's ever gotten a manicure knows this isn't normal, and it's clearly an issue with the polish itself. I went back today to ask them nicely to fix it since it chipped within three hours, and they refused to do it for free unless I used the same polish. Why would I use the same polish when it's clearly ready to be thrown out? They said they'd charge me to fix it with another color. Now, when your product or service does not deliver, you fix it without cost to the party affected. I've been a loyal Nailtastic customer for about a year now and I'll be taking my business elsewhere from now on. Really disappointed. Not to mention I work with 300 women and I'll be sure to spread the word to them. Expect a poor customer service experience and a less than stellar result. I can do better manicures on myself for free, and when I do want to treat myself to a manicure, there are plenty of other spots in River North. read more

I love this place for so many reasons. I originally started going when it opened because it was so close to my place. You'll never leave disappointed. Each technician does amazing work, and that is a rare quality. The most recent to rock my world is Amber, she really did the perfect no chip mani. They have a huge selection of colors and options, and the place is always clean. They have a great receptionist, Kathy - who I like to think is more of a hostess because she is always about making sure people are happy. I've been going to this salon for two months now. It was perfect for me with convenience, quality of work, and customer service. Every time u booked an appt it was through whittle. The last appt I booked I noticed my charge was for a different amount than my services. I called whittle and was informed that Nailtastic changed the amount with an additional charge. This was not explained to me before I left the salon. Nor did I approve the amount I was charged. I will no longer visit this salon and give them $70 every two weeks. I also always tip cash every visit. So the additional charge could not be a tip. If anyone else has recommendations on the river north area please feel free to share. read more

Great nail salon and centrally located. Emily at the front desk is so nice and will pick the best colors if you ask. The studio itself is clean and professional. I've received manicures and pedicures and they always turn out well. The ambiance is great- they offer you wine or flavored sparkling water which is nice after a long day of work. I really really want to love this place. Things I love about nailtastic: 1. The location - if you are living in Hubbard Place or Kingsbury Plaza its a perfect place to head in on your way home 2. THE COLORS - I LOVE all of them. This was the first place that I felt had a great range of colors, instead of mostly pinks and reds. 3. The very clean style and layout. 4. The receptionist is very friendly. Some room for development: 1. It took a long time compared to other salons, without having really anything extraordinary added on. 2. There was long gaps in between songs in the salon, so you were just listening to a quiet salon without the atmosphere (probably made the service feel longer) 3. A TV would help mitigate the long service to keep me preoccupied instead of just staring at the nail technician. I love it when they have something like food network on. 4. Halfway through my manicure my nail technician left me hanging to go work on a woman who was waiting for a pedicure, without telling me another individual would finish So I waited there for about fifteen minutes not really knowing what was happening next. 5. My manicure chipped the next day, and was mostly unwearable about three days out so the rate of return on the manicure was extremely disappointing. Granted that they are new, so there are some kinks to work out. I'll continue to go to kinzie nails on n. wells and maybe check back with them in a couple of months, but right now its a waste of time and money. read more

Me and 4 bridesmaids went here with the bride-to-be as part of our bachelorette Party weekend, and I have to say they did a great job on all of our pedicures and also gave us a massage post pedicure as we were drying our toes. I'm torn about my review because I've been coming here for manicures for almost a year and the ladies are lovely and do a great job. No-chip lasts a really long time. My issue is with the pricing. I was charged $95 for a no-chip mani & pedi (not even really a full mani. Just needed no-chip change on the hands). It seemed steep but I thought maybe they just charge more than other places. Later it just didn't feel right so I looked online and their no-chip mani & pedi is listed at $70. Hmm. I will definitely be asking the price in advance from now on. Really polite and efficient staff, get you in and out quickly, while also making it a relaxing and fun process. I have been to Nailtastic only twice and so far, my experience with the salon is wonderful because of Emma, my new favorite nail technician. I do my best to be a nice, easy-going customer but it has been difficult for me when I met someone who has a career such as a hair designer/nail technician/masseuse, but not careful for touching one's body parts . So I am cautious when I meet a new technician to let the person touch my body parts. This is why I went back to Emma because I was satisfied with her skills and service the first time. She is very talented, careful, listening, and detailed in her work. I never felt burning when she was filing and cleaning my nails. She was always trying her best to listen to what designs I want on my nails, and she is good with putting designs as I wanted (I am very particular). If something was not done right for me, she was always willing to fix it with no hesitation. So I appreciate it, Emma! I personally think that she is much better than average nail tech. Overall, I trust her skills and I will definitely let her touch my hands/nails next time again!! read more
