While the food was prepared fresh, it wasn't great. I wasn't impressed. We ordered 2 chicken tikka masala's (medium), an order of garlic naan & a butter chicken, to go. All the dishes came with rice as pictured. The portion sizes were small. We ordered it to feed three people & that's all it fed. It was $58.18 which is pretty expensive considering there was very little chicken (sliced chicken) in the dishes and the sauce was more thin & watery than I'd like. The chicken tik was supposed to be medium hot but it basically had no flavor. It wasn't spicy at all. The butter chicken was just okay. The service was quick, the restaurant was pretty clean and the food was cooked to order. My cons were just the portion size, cost, and pretty bland taste. read more

This was probably the most awkward dinner service we have ever been to! We came in with our kids , and there were only a few people dining in. The lady came up to us and didn't say anything, I thought it was pretty obvious it was 4 of us that needed a table, but I guess not. I told her table for 4 and we were then seated. We started with a mango lassi (not fresh) We ordered a samosa chaat. Overall it was good, but nothing great. We placed an order of: Lamb korma Butter chicken Goat biryani 2 orders of naan. Both meat dishes were very stingy with the meat either only a few pieces in each dish. The chicken was dry and tasted as if its mass cooked then put into whatever sauce people order, there was no depth of flavor incorporated in any of the meat. The biryani was good and had a better amount of meat given. The bread was not the way I like my naan (thin and crispy) it was more doughy and not that flavorful at all. The service was so awkward every time she came to our table. I was so disappointed with this place, I didn't even feel like ordering any dessert. This place has amazing food! We ordered the chicken Mughal, saag paneer, Nepalese chicken jhol momo, and garlic naan. On this visit, we ordered all of the dishes "mild", but there is the option to make it much hotter if you like. The service was great. The waiter and manager were quite attentive in making sure we had everything we needed. This restaurant has only been open a couple of months, and is planning to have a lunch buffet starting sometime in January. I am really looking forward to see the variety they'll have. read more

Happened to go to this restaurant because of a Groupon that I had. It was a 50 min ride for our party of 3 but as it turned out was worth it. You should note that the directions through the Groupon app. are wrong. Just enter the name of the restaurant in Waze or Google Maps. Location: in a strip mall with ample parking in a well lit lot. Ambience: large seating area with well spaced booths and tables. Place is clean. There are table cloths, proper silverware and dinner plates. The single wait staff was friendly, knew the menu and attentive The food: honestly some of the best we have had in a long time. We ordered the Chicken Chilly Mommos as a shared starter- was served on a sizzling, steamy hot cast iron pan. The Mommos are to die for. Have never had anything this tasty in an appetizer before. Had to talk to the owner-Chef. Found out the dish is his original creation and no one in Houston serves it this style. For our mains we had the Chicken Hariyali- morsels of chicken marinated in a spinach cream marinade then grilled. Tender, mouth watering and tingles the taste buds with a burst of multiple flavors. Accompanying this we had the Dal Makhani and a Chicken Kadhai. All were spiced just right and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food was so good we ordered an additional 3 entrees to go. Portion sizes are good and prices are reasonable. This mini feast could end only one way- with a steaming mug of Masala Chai. Highly recommend this restaurant. Website shows it as a buffet, which it was years earlier, but it was standard menu ordering today. I'm not sure if they do buffet on weekdays or not. I can only speak to what I tried today - the Goat Vindaloo, garlic naan, and mango lassi. All were excellent, and probably a good indication of other dishes on the menu. We ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Chili MoMo, and Garlic Naan. The chicken tikka masala was super flavorful and fragrant. They give you an option to add more spice if you want that extra kick. The chicken chili momo is a must try! The momo wrapper was super crispy and the sauce pairs so well with the filling inside. The garlic naan is hands down the best garlic naan I have tasted. I just moved to the area and found this place on a random search for lunch spots nearby. I am a sucker for amazing Indian food, but it is hard to find good places to frequent. I will be honest and say that I was hesitant to try the food due to lack of reviews here, but I went with my intuition. I called in my order to-go; my usual at Indian restaurants - lamb/ goat biryani. The flavors blew me away!!! I have been to a few Asian restaurants in Houston (I was born and raised here) but this is by far the best - and yes - I told my husband this biryani is BETTER THAN Aga's!!! I stand by that. This is probably the best biryani I have had - ever! This food reminds me of growing up around my former boss and all the amazing home cooking he would bring to me that his mom made. She was born and raised and india and the flavor and spices of her food were unmatched. Previously, I could not go into any restaurant and find food like that. Even if I requested spicy, it was always the American "spicy" - not really the traditional spicy I was looking for. And that is just the spice level - the flavors could hardly compare to the home cooking I was spoiled with. Namaste Curry & Mo:Mo matched all of that and then some!!! The flavors are magnificent - all the love put into the cooking was apparent with each bite I took. Sooooo - all that to say that imagine me fast forwarding some 11.5 years and finding that home-cooked feel and comfort in a restaurant here in the neighborhood that I now call home - love at first bite You will not be disappointed. My wife & I came here for dinner Saturday, Jan 27. We waited a few moments before being seated, but service was friendly. The menu has a number of options, but we never waited long for anything to be served. We ordered Chicken momo jhol, which were spiced chicken dumplings in a creamy broth. We ordered them Medium spicy, which for us was doable, but we did sweat. Your mileage may vary. We also had bullet naan, which is bread filled with onions & green Chile's. It was spicy, but not too much. Then we ordered Samosa chaat, which is a fried dumpling filled with spiced potato, chopped up & topped with chickpeas, tomato, red onion, tamarind sauce, a green sauce, and yogurt. Everything was delicious. The staff kept us topped up with iced tea, and brought raita when the spice got to us. (Raita is a sauce made of yogurt and cucumber; it's very cooling.) We liked everything so much, we got an order of peshwari naan to go and devoured it at home. (Peshwari naan is bread stuffed with chopped nuts & dried fruits; sweet, but not too sweet.) Again, the service was great, the food was delicious, and we got out of there for $40-ish total, including a tip. They offer a lunch buffet on Friday & Saturday, which we're already planning on trying. Love this new place! read more

I found my new favorite Indian/Nepalese restaurant in the neighborhood. Went to Namaste Curry for the first time. They just opened less than two months. The owner (or manager) is very friendly and explains some dishes we're not familiar with. Everything was fresh, hot and delicious. We ordered the chicken chilly/sizzling MoMos, baingan bartha, chicken biryani, vegetable jalfrezi and the best garlic naan. The dishes came out piping hot. For dessert, we tried their carrot pudding and they're very yummy and not very sweet ( the way I like it). No pictures of the dishes except for the sizzling MoMos as I was too excited and hungry. The chicken tikka masala was also a very smooth curry. The garlic naan was cooked to perfection and very yummy. For my drink I had a mango lassi which was smooth and not too sweet with is a huge plus. One of the owners is very sweet and friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're in the area!! Food is mediocre and some are too dry like chicken tandoora...Maybe it was leftover and it's heating up again and again. I came here because the Namaste in Georgetown was great. Tried this restaurant for the first time. Was welcomed the minute we waked in. The wait staff asked us immediate we would like to drink and if we had a preference in where we would like you sit. Handed us the menu and told us to let him know if we had any questions about the menu or needed suggestions. He suggested the dumplings and asked what level of spice we liked. He was very informative and knowledgeable about their menu. While he put in our appetizer he brought our drinks and went over the main menu. The pictures of the food we ordered do not do it justice! The smell was amazing and it tasted even better! We could not even finish all of it. They came over several times to check on us to make sure everything was ok and the owner even came over to thank us for coming in! I arrived alone and curious about what this place had to offer. I left amazed at how delicious the food was. Service was super hospitable. The atmosphere was quaint reserved, but yet a also inviting. Different from your typical here or there restaurant. I liked how they ask questions to adjust their food to your liking. While also being able to describe and present their food, and how to enjoy. Another surprising factor is that they're budget friendly. Definitely returning for more with a group of friends. I can imagine this place soon enough to be a great ideal spot. This family owned spot offers tasty Indian food and a bit of excellent Nepalese food as well. The momos, Nepalese dumplings kind of like potstickers, are some of the best I've had. I get the medium heat chili momos which are spicy. They are delicious. If you aren't up for pretty darn spicy food, I would suggest getting them mild. I've also had about ten of their Indian dishes, and they've all been very good. The service is excellent. You can tell it's a family owned and operated place in which they take real pride. They've got a full bar with top shelf spirits, too, though I've not yet had a cocktail here. Next time. The restaurant is spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. The chicken mo mo chili sizzle was amazing, the aloo gobi Manchurian was sooo good, the samosa was very good, we had two different chicken dishes also - one a tandoori and the other was chicken tiki masala and both were excellent. Also had an order of garlic naan and some other kind of naan with almonds, cashews, golden raisins - I never had this before but I loved it - it was not sweet but had just a hint of sweetness that made it crave worthy. Went during dinner but asked about the buffet and was told it is Friday & Saturday 11-2. The place was very clean and everyone was very friendly. We brought a group including young kids to eat at Namaste Curry - the owner came to the table and explained the mix of Northern India and Nepalese cuisine. The naan selection was a whole page of the menu and it was so fresh - we got several choices full of cheese, onions, and chilis. We ordered family style several selections with varying levels of spice. The service was perfect, friendly and responsive. Walked out feeding 6 for what we usually spend on 3-4. Delicious food! We have had Namaste Curry 3 times and each time it has been yummy! We are picky with what we like and consistency is something we find lacks on this side of town. This place has been consistent every time. My husband usually orders the goat or lamb and I eat vegetarian. Malai kofta and paneer chili is outstanding! We also love their momo's! We went on a Saturday afternoon and we must have missed the lunch rush because not many patrons inside which meant our food came out fairly quickly. We had the vegetable sampler as an appetizer and it was delicious. My nine year old daughter enjoyed the garlic naan and butter chicken curry. Great food I'm here for the second time in the past few days to try the Nepalese mo mo which I've never had. First visit I had garlic chicken and vegetable pakora and garlic naan . I wasn't kissing anyone later so wasn't worried about having too much garlic. The restaurant itself is decent size ambiance is nice not overly done. Tvs on the walls nothing out of the ordinary. Service is good explains the dishes well if unfamiliar with them. First time for me to see Nepalese mo mo's at an Indian restaurant . So was eager to try them. This place is not far from the house either so convenient for me though this is one place I would drive across town for if craving good quality Indian food. read more
