Probably some of the worst Indian food I've had in the area. We got some lamb biryani and it was incredibly spicy. My husband loves heat and even he said it was too spicy to be enjoyable. Still good! But unfortunately, didn't have the best experience tonight. My partner and I were raving to our buddy about this place and the three of us decided to grab dinner here. It's Saturday, busy night! Took awhile to get seats to dine in, but it was fine, we were excited for the food. Finally seated after about 5 minutes, we didn't get our menus, but it's okay, we already know what we're going to get... except, the waiter didn't come to us for another 15+ minutes. A big group of people were seated way before us and had their orders taken right away. I was waiting for him to finish taking their order so I can tell him we (been) are ready as well. Another waiter saw us and was apologetic about not bringing us a menu, but all good, it's been almost 20 minutes at this point, we're ready to order. All should be good! Nope, 2 out of the 3 dishes came out very lukewarm, and we ordered naan that didn't come out at all. We waited, until we were all done with our plates, and came to the realization that they have forgotten part of our order. We were still hungry but who knew how much longer it would take for the naan. Not worth it at this point. Our table was pretty much forgotten, warm food, missing item, no water refill. I live near Namaste Flavors and every day I walk past and smell the aromas that drift out of the restaurant, and it makes me so hungry each time. I finally got to try it this weekend and I am impressed! I got the chicken vindaloo, and it really packed a punch heat-wise, but it was so flavorful and made the experience so much better. We also got the mughlai chicken, and normally, I'm not a huge proponent of putting tree nuts in food, but the curry was fantastic. It provided a nice relief from the spicy vindaloo, and it was so good that after we ran out of rice I was eating it on its own. Although the mughlai chicken wasn't spicy, by no means was it a mild flavor. Lastly, we got the mango lassi as I always do at Indian restaurants. The mango flavor was pretty dominating, which I loved, but it was also really thick, thicker than what I've had at other places, and this made the yogurt flavor a little stronger. One of our go-tos for Indian food delivery. We love the lamb biryani, chicken tikka masala, palak paneer, garlic naan, and mango lassi. (A little basic on our part? Maybe... we probably should branch out more but these dishes are just so yummy!) Nice that you can choose spice level for everything - mild, med, and hot. And everything is delicious! There aren't too many places that are open for a late dinner besides fast food which we've done already. We came across this restaurant since it closed at 10pm and decided to try it. There is street parking and a small lot as well. I saw on the menu that they offered dosa only to learn they were out of it. I am not familiar with Indian cooking but maybe they ran out of batter this late at night (around 8:30pm)? We ordered the chicken biryani mild (which the server placed as med), mughlai chicken mild and garlic naan. We asked if the dishes were spicy and they said they can cater the spice level. The menu doesn't have the usual red pepper emoji next to the dish to indicate if it is spicy. It is a very extensive menu. It was all good despite the spicy biryani and the chicken was tender. Service was decent. The restaurant decor was simple. It is in a house on a corner. We will return in the future to try out the dosas! read more

Food was decent. Needed a little salt but the waiter never stopped at our table for us to ask. Indian cuisine is one of our favorites and we were underwhelmed. Basmati rice didn't even have the nice aroma that it normally has. Waiter seated us then walked passed us a dozen times with saying anything else. I had to go ask if any one would be coming to our table to take our order. When we finally got our food ordered we received the Tandoori only without rice. 10 minutes later our butter chicken finally came along with both orders of rice but no ma'am. We had to remind the waiter and he di ally brought it out as we were finishing. He never asked us how the food was or if we needed anything else. read more

He spoke quickly and it made it hard for me to understand. Later in the meal, I think our server warmed up to us. :) There was one person that stopped by the table and was very friendly but we never seen him again. The atmosphere could use a little updating but we weren't there for that and everything was clean. My recommendations would be the Veg Samosa, Aloo Mutter, and Naan. Disappointing I went to Namaste Indian Restaurant in Ann Arbor. I got a very simple lunch, chicken tikka masala and samosas. I carried the lunch out. First impression, the lobby is not welcoming...no one was there to greet me....finally a gentlemen looked for my order. The Chicken Tikka Masala was very runny/watery...it really should be a creamy sauce. Also the CHICKEN in the Tikka Masala was missing...MAYBE? 4 pieces of chicken...lots of green pepper and onions. The Samosas were very thick...like an Indian paste. You could not find the potato or peas found in a regular Samosa. I won't be returning to this establishment. read more

Ordered through Grubhub recently: Pakora, Saag Paneer, Lamb Korma. The first two were good. Pakora was unique, not so much a fritter as a pile of fried veggies bits, and whether or not that was intended I don't know, but it was very good, if a little soft due to time elapsed during delivery. Just a little spicy kick, not so much breading that it overwhelmed the vegetables. Heated leftovers (portion was more than enough for that) on a wire rack in the oven the next day and they were crispy-delicious. Just be sure to order a sauce to go with these--it's not automatically included as at many Indian places. My wife had the Saag and liked it. Good flavor, plenty of paneer cubes, and spiciness commensurate with what usually passes for "medium" at Indian restaurants. Spinach was pureed a bit finer than we usually see, but didn't get soupy. My korma on the other hand, which I'd ordered medium, was hot hot hot! As in, "I need a glass of milk or tomato juice on the side with this" hot, and I've usually got a pretty high spice tolerance. Couldn't really taste much in the sauce aside from heat. The lamb was very tender, but didn't have much flavor. If I'd been told it was beef I wouldn't have guessed any different. Maybe next time I'll spring for the goat. Won't rule out another order--maybe we'll wait until we can dine in, so as to get those pakora fresh. read more

I started running again yesterday. I bought a treadmill and huffed and puffed my way through the first day of couch to 5k (I used to run those with no problem but the couch won during this pandemic). When I dragged myself back upstairs after I had zero energy to cook or even reheat something frozen. We ordered Namaste Flavours instead and it was awesome. I got the butter chicken and my husband ordered the shrimp biryani. Plus a side of garlic naan. Both were great, generous portions and arrived hot and fresh. He definitely has enough for another meal. I probably would have but I wolfed most of mine down after my workout. Hah. I also tried the mango lassi which was delicious. A little tangy, a little sweet, and the mango flavor really came through. I just wish it were a little colder but it was packaged with the food so I think some heat was transferred to it. It would great to see it come separate to maintain some of the temperature. But it wasn't anything a few minutes in the freezer or fridge couldn't fix. Price, once you factor in delivery fees and such, was a little high so we probably won't be getting delivery from here often (or we'll do carryout in the future to save on some fees) but it's definitely one of my faves in the area for Indian cuisine. read more

We were lured in after smelling their delicious food during several drives through town. They offered dine-in on their porch during COVID. Portions were large, I had butter chicken with extra spice, my wife had palak paneer, sharing one order of garlic naan and one mango lassi. My entree was creamy, well seasoned, and not skimpy with the chicken. We were both stuffed after only eating half of our food. The price was very reasonable, $40 after tax and tip. We ordered DoorDash from this restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed everything we got even though we didn't receive the samosas we ordered lol. Thankfully DoorDash remedied that for us with a refund quickly which was nice. What did arrive were the special chicken biryani, aloo gobi, garlic naan and butter chicken that we ordered and they were all absolutely delicious. This is a very shady place. I placed order online from their site. but when I went to the restaurent, the guy says they don't have any connection to the website. There is no way to connect the website owner or the conman. I have disputed the charge with the credit card and that didn't resolve. I tried to connect with Foodhub and no response from them either. Looks below standard when you walk in. The carpet is matted with grease and possibly, sadness from decades of disappointed diners. The walls have paint streaks from an attempted DYI effort. The decor and collors are kitchy... definately should be against the law. The workers, as with most Indian eateries, seem hurried, disinterested and unhappy. No one greets you with a smile. No one serves you with a smile. No one really makes eye contact. The food was okay. We ordered a lamb curry. It was passable to mildly decent. The veggie bryani was the worst watery rice I have ever had in my life. Tasted like a they threw the kitchen sink of spice mix into it, some random veggies and TOMATO! Horrible.
