I wasn't quite sure what Himalayan/Nepalese food was like but again, my server helped me decipher the type of cuisine I was to expect and it was delicious. It's like a mix of Indian and East Asian (Chinese, Thai) dishes (from what I can tell). The lamb dish I had was cooked perfectly; the lamb wasn't dry and the sauce that it came with was like an explosion of flavor in my mouth. My girlfriend had a chicken dish and it too was amazing--it had a completely different flavor profile but was equally good. We visited this place twice. The first time, 3 months ago it was good & clean and we loved it. The second time, we tried Saturday lunch buffet recently around 12.30pm. It was very disappointing. The quality of food has substantially degraded from the first time. There were flies over the buffet food and over the tables as well. The food was cold and very bland. There weren't many options in the buffet. The only thing served hot was naan. Noodles were very sour & cold felt like they were leftovers from the previous night. $13.99/person is not worth it when there are many other better options. After ordering delivery and having the food delivered to my building, when I brought it back home and attempted to unpack it, the bottom of the bag ripped open and $40 worth of food spilled onto the floor. Whoever packed the bag, overpacked it to the breaking point. The restaurant refused to take any responsibility and instead blamed the front desk people in my building. Hidden gem. Came across this place as we were very unsure where to go for good food. We had to wait about 20 min or more and were getting a little impatient. However, they sat us and felt bad for the delay and gave us an appetizer (samosas) on the house with a few very spicy sauces to try! We ordered curry and naan. It was absolutely delicious. Delicious. Im staying in a near by hotel so I needed something that could be delivered. The delivery person came within the quoted time and was very polite. I ordered the Himalayan Soup and Shrimp Yangoon. The soup was not overly seasoned, well balanced, with a tiny bit of heat from the black pepper. It's very smooth, not like a thick lentil soup at all. The Shrimp Yangoon came with rice and was amazing. A touch of sweetness from the coconut milk and perfectly spiced, and the shrimp weren't over cooked. All I wish is that I ordered naan to go with the leftover sauce. I could literally eat it like soup. Totally worth the wait and I'll definitely be ordering from here again. My only issue is that the portion of shrimp was maybe a little more expensive than I'd expect. I got a lot of sauce but only like 8 or 9 shrimp and no veggies. Visited the Restaurant on my trip to NYC. It's operated by a Nepalese family. The restaurant is well located in New Jersey and the persons operating it - what warmth and hospitality they serve here, I loved it. The food here was awesome and to our liking. I was here with my Parents - who are particular about taste of Indian food and they loved it. I visited here several times while I was in NYC. Our first time here was excellent! The ambience was pretty and neat, with soothing Indian music playing in the background. The service was extremely warm and friendly. We started with complimentary papads and chutneys. Their menu is quite nice and exciting to choose from. We ordered chicken momos to begin with. They were terrific, exactly like what we get in India. For the main course, we ordered Chicken Kadhai, Garlic Naan and Onion Kulcha. Complimentary rice was also served. Everything was incredibly tasty and we polished off every last bit. We told the staff it was our first time there as we recently moved into the area from Minnesota, and they were extremely generous to serve us a complimentary rice pudding, which just made our night! Not returning here. Food was delicious but the service was terrible! It took way too long for the server to take our order (wasn't too crowded). Generally the food took longer than usual and for our dessert- it took forever as the server(who took our order) came to us asking if he gave us the dessert already! Seriously? So we waited for good 25mins further for our Kheer just because the server forgot to serve our order. Instead of hurrying up as we had been waiting already he continued to make us wait. Pretty upset as I saw the other tables being served papad upon their arrival and getting their food on decent amount of time but we were just ignored and sitting there. I ordered for delivery. The reviews do not lie. The food is top-shelf. The chicken from the biryani was so soft, tender and juicy it felt like it was melting into my mouth. The naan looked beautiful and tasted exquisite. The Chicken Tikka, because it's white meat, often tastes dry for darker meat lovers like myself, but at this place it was fairly tender and well-marinaded. The lamb vindaloo wasn't very spicy and I have to admit it wasn't the best curry I tasted (I've eaten at Indian places in Manhattan, Queens, and NNJ quite a bit) but it was still of an acceptable quality. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone based on the food quality alone. Tip: The person I spoke with on the phone says delivery times on the weekends are much longer because of the heavy traffic and customer volume. Keep that in mind.
