We moved to the Gulf Shores/ Orange beach area last May. This place was always missing a good sushi restaurant the only other decent place is jellyfish in perdido key. Nami opened in October and it is the best sushi in town by a mile. I'm originally from California, I've eaten sushi all over the world and can say this is actually top tier sushi. Any other comments saying otherwise have no palate. There is a 1 star review below saying the sushi is not good then only talks about a beef dish... give me a break. This is a SUSHI spot through and through 10/10 on a bad day. It's gonna be busy at peak season best time to go is 5 on Monday/Wednesday/Thursday if you're looking for quick service. Our first time here to this locally owned and operated eateries in the area, and another Japanese restaurant is a welcomed addition. It's great to see a new place opening up on Canal Road where Bon Temps Poboys used to be. I went there with my honey recently and we were both very impressed with the whole experience. The atmosphere was clean and comfortable, and the service was absolutely outstanding from start to finish. We started with the gyoza and it was done very well. It wasn't overly crunchy but just right on the money. The soup and salad were also quite nice and fresh. My honey ordered the shrimp and noodles and she really enjoyed them, especially since the shrimp tasted local. Everything from the food to the plum wine was a win, and the prices felt very reasonable for the quality we received. It is a welcomed addition to the area and we will definitely be back. Bottom line: If you're looking for a great place for sushi or Japanese food where you'll feel comfortable and get a great job every time, go see the folks at Nami Sushi. Recommended!!! read more

Fresh, tasteful sushi on OBA! We've called for takeout twice since it's opened and each time our order has been taken accurately and made quickly (even with customizations). We love the Hawaii, Pink Lady, Nami, and Tuna Lover rolls. We also gave their chicken fried rice a shot this past time, was a large portion and great for leftovers. read more

There was no way and I'm pretty quiet when we got there so I was slightly unsure if it was gonna be really good food, but they quickly proved that they have amazing sushi. The service was top-notch as well. Highly recommend the avocado bomb, jalapeño yellowtail, Nami roll & Ironman. All of their simple rolls were amazing as well. The environment is authentic feeling with a nice ambiance. For a $200 meal I wish we would have went to the McDonald's next door. We had edamame, ginger salad and miso soup to start. The soup were covered generous with the ginger dressing all pieces were heavily covered. The soup was good the small bowl of edamame had no salt or flavor. The "house soy sauce was water down with some sugar. I have never had such a thing. Half way through the meal I asked for real soy sauce that they did bring. We got the lover boat it was on a boat but the sashimi was ok, the shrimp, imitation crab, fish cake (I think) was below the standards of the sushi boats I have had before. If you want California roll and chicken on rice this is your spot. We will not be back sorry to the staff for that but the quality is not worth the price. We left disappointed. read more

I think I posted on Sushi Nami once before but gotta let y'all know this place is the bomb! We went again last night at 5:30 and by 6:00 people were waiting for a table. The word has spread. It was our 5th trip in and they have been very consistent with high quality fish for Nigiri and Sashimi. Service is always spot on and the ambiance is very Japanese. I get the Sashimi variety with a California roll every time and it is bundled together for $19.95, very reasonable. They make their own soy sauce and ginger dressing and both are delicious. I always get a large sake too and the brand they pour is better than others I have had. We have not been for lunch but they have specials. They are closed on Tuesdays and open until 9:30 every day but Friday and Saturday which is 10:00. Anyhoo, if you live in the Orange Beach area or visit give them a try. Best to get there at 5:00-5:30 or after 8:00 I am told by the staff. read more

Edit: brought my child back for dinner. This place is awesome. I recommend the avocado bomb!!!!!!! We tried out the new sushi and hibachi restaurant, Nami Sushi, in Orange Beach. I had the lunch special, 2 regular rolls for $14. I had the spicy tuna roll and the shrimp tempura roll. They were both delicious. The tuna was fresh, and the sauces were tasty. Eason, the sushi chef, makes all the sauces in house. My husband had the tuna tartar. The tuna, avocado, and mango were all fresh and absolutely delicious. Husband and I recently visited Orange Beach for a week of R&R. We love sushi and we're excited to see a Nami Sushi nearby. There was just something missing from the food we ordered and the beef fried rice fell short in flavor. A really nice place. Good service and quality sushi. But, the servings are small ,and prices are high. That doesn't work for me. I work hard for my money and look for value. No value here. If they correct (lower) their prices, and address the portion size, I'll be back. Otherwise, I'll wait to visit the next restaurant that moves into that space. Giving a 3 is generous! read more

We love this place! Fresh yummy sushi & Iron Man roll (soft shell crab) are some of our favorites. One thing is, we don't care for the homemade soy sauce (a little too sweet for us) but they always have the Kikoman, lower salt, store bought soy sauce for us. Super fresh! Or you can choose Miso soup instead of salad. I had the spicy tuna roll, yellowtail scallion roll & California roll. My son (32) had the eel roll & spicy tuna roll.
