    Pad Thai medium heat

Everything was great! Food and service! It wasn't super busy, only a few other tables. The space is welcoming and not too tight. Our appetizers were the crab rolls and my only dislike is wanting more. I ordered the pad Thai and fried rice, both with chicken. I ordered the pad Thai medium and the rice mild. Both had great flavor, but the medium is spicy so if you aren't looking for more realistically a hot maybe go mild. I enjoyed the medium but it is a nose runner! My mom got the red curry and she loved it! She's a local and will be making it a regular stop! Thank you for a great lunch!

Nice ambiance. Server was very attentive. All six of us enjoyed our meals. The food was not too spicy. We will return.

The food was delicious, the service was fast and friendly, and the restaurant was quiet and comfortable. I come to Gulf Shores several times each year, and I'll definitely be making Niki's a regular stop from now on! Try the beef salad, it's incredible.

This pains me to write because I've loved this restaurant for over 30 years but today's lunch was a miss. Honestly I feel single tables are sometimes viewed as less desirable tables and today felt like that. Their lunch menu offered fried shrimp with hushpuppies and fries OR coleslaw for 12.99. I asked specifically for both fries and coleslaw and said I would pay a coleslaw up charge. My app (cream cheese rolls with crab $6) was delivered super hot and mostly wrapper. It wasn't good. The entree came out with only coleslaw and shrimp -- no fries, no hushpuppies. When I asked for tartar sauce I was brought a second cocktail. When I asked again the waitress had to ask another what it was. When she brought it she said she had never heard of shrimp served with tartar sauce. The fries came out ten minutes after the entree. When I asked about hushpuppies the server shrugged. She said "I'm just the server, I don't prepare the food." Yes, but your job is to serve what the customer reasonably orders... without excuses. It made me sad that the meal was viewed as almost fast food. A $25 dollar lunch isn't fast food. The shrimp (7) were cooked perfectly and were fresh. This review seems whiney and I suppose one meal in 31 years should be overlooked. But today was review day. Funnily I was comparing today's lunch to Doc's claim of "Best Fried Shrimp in the Entire Civilized World!" Today Docs actually ran circles around my favorite locals restaurant-- so maybe they are, because my experience at Docs made me feel cared about. Nikki's not so much. Dining room was pleasant.

Best place for Thai food in Orange Beach! We picked up take out and enjoyed all of the dishes we tried. All of the dishes were huge on portions and protein choices, they did not skimp on the shrimp, and super yummy. Pad Thai and glass noodle dishes were authentic and their fried rice dishes were very satisfying and filling. We were very happy with our order and will be back again! FYI - this place is popular with the locals and tourists alike so wait times might be more or less depending on when you go. From what I have seen in Orange Beach, that is pretty standard with almost any restaurant in the area. Expect to wait a bit, there is a lot of demand and not always enough help. Patience, kindness, and planning ahead go a long way!

I'll admit it, I'm spoiled. I now live 3-4 months out of my life in Koh Samui Thailand. So, I've had some of the best Hat Yai Fried Chicken, Chiang Mai Koa Soi, or Mangos and Sticky Rice. So I took my Saint Louis friends to Niki Seafood, as I was very curious, and heard that Niki was the real deal. Well, in two words it is. The wait staff is very sweet and attentive. The ambiance is clean and bland. Not ostentatious. I like ostentatious so. So I wanted Thailand's famous fried chicken. They didn't have it. How about Koa Soi, nope! Boat noodle soup, nahhhh. Pad Kra Pow perhaps, huh no, I see. Now Thai food in America has been calmed down. Typically I can eat Thai hot levels, and I asked our wait staff for just below Thai hot. I ordered the mixed seafood and Basil. My friend ordered the chicken and green curry. And, his wife ordered the fried rice and pineapple. All were delicious, and my mixed seafood and basil was fresh. My friends enjoyed there foods too. However, for me it was American Thai, not Thai Thai. So residence and vacationers in the Orange Beach will enjoy Nikki's, it is very good, fresh food, with fantastic service, I just miss hanging in Thailand.

Oh my gosh...so very good! We have been searching for Thai food and found this place. The vegetables are fresh, the rice is cooked just right and the curry and stir fry remind me of my mom's home cooking. Great service and attention to just how spicy you want your food. Loved how well the level of spiciness turned out. Nice seating inside that was a surprise in how updated the decor is compared to the rustic look of the restaurant outside. Nice place!

Tasteless food, overcooked noodles, too pricey. Will drive to FL to get better service, taste and price.

Apparently it is not important enough to service staff to understand what is like to have someone in your party that has a food allergy. The most important thing, is to have the ability to empathize with your guests, and make their experience a good one. If there is an issue with cross contamination in your kitchen, then create an area in the kitchen solely to address those with food allergy needs. For example, when your customer tells you the sprite has no flavor, you don't just come back and tell them it looks fine to me and everything is hooked up. Try tasting it yourself and at least bring a new cup of it to the table. Don't come back empty handed. Then there was the Crab Cakes. After all of the seafood places I have been to in the southeast I found these crab cakes to be just so so. If you are going to deep fry them, please understand that the crab meat will turn to the consistency of tuna salad and is not pleasant to eat whatsoever. Perhaps skip the breading/deep fry and pan fry them instead? While the breading on the crab cake was crisp and delicious, it was a little off setting to have mushy crab on the inside. Again, this was a beautiful venue with a great view. I am troubled by the lack of attention to detail, especially when it comes to addressing your guests.

We did not like the 30 dollars worth of sweet shrimp. It does come in very generous portion if you like that type of flavor. Hush puppies were pretty darn good, light, nicely seasoned with good flavor. The Cole slaw was excellent. All portions were generous. Overall they are friendly, the service is personable and efficient! Ambiance is that of a local diner style, not fancy just comfortable. We liked everything but the sweet grilled shrimp. We are from the north and maybe it is just a southern style we aren't familiar with or used to consuming. The gumbo is pretty good too. My advice, find a seat, have someone order at the order window, then head to the bar to order drinks. The wait to order food took about a half hour. It was very quick to get our drinks. We were able to snag a couch area on a platform. It was so comfy and we loved the views. A heads up- if you snag a couch like this, kids will get up on the platform and jump off of it. People will step up on the platform and walk extremely close to you. I had to ask a kid to stop throwing sand by us because we were eating our dinner. It was a little chaotic. We were extremely patient and understand, but I could see some people being very upset and annoyed. After ordering, our food came out pretty quick. I started with the coconut grouper bites and they were phenomenal. Light breading, lightly sweat, and flaky. I had the Gulf Grilled Cobia and it was phenomenal. The fish was tender, flaky, and light. No fishiness at all. The sauce on the fish was also delightful. My husband and son had the fajita skewers and both enjoyed them. My husband also had the peel and eat shrimp and said they were amazing at The Gulf. Our drinks were okay. We had better drinks at other places during the week, but they weren't bad. We would return, but try to come on an off-time that wasn't so busy.

For the main course, I ordered the New York strip with crab cakes. The steak was cooked properly but lacked seasoning and flavor, requiring quite a bit of salt. The crab cakes were also underwhelming and not something I would order again. My stepson ordered the kids' Alfredo, which tasted more like plain macaroni and ended up being so bland that he barely ate it. My husband had the bacon BBQ shrimp and enjoyed it, although I found it a little too sweet for my taste. Considering the overall quality of the food, the meal did not feel worth the price we paid. That said, our server was very friendly and attentive, and the restaurant has a fun atmosphere. They also offer live music on certain nights, which adds to the experience. Overall, while there were a few highlights, the food didn't quite live up to our expectations.
