3 year old review but came here with some friends for a birthday and it was such a great vibe. Class, elevated, and inviting. The service was professional yet warm, and the dishes were just so fresh and thoughtfully put together. Thanks for a lovely time!

Delicious sushi spot that we found on Resy. Was easy to get to, parking is mostly street but walkable, especially because Namo is in a well lit shopping area. We ordered a few nigiri pieces and new style rolls. Everything was delicious, and fresh as they proud themselves in. Toro was luscious and melted in the mouth, as good toro should. Scallops in the Aburi roll was so good, fresh and crisp-best words to describe. Had a great experience, was quick especially with sushi making right in front you. Left Namo at a perfect satiety- not over bearing full but also could have eaten one more roll:)

Came with my lovely friend to celebrate my birthday (Scorpio!) and she definitely picked an amazing spot! There's ample parking in the parking garage (and it's free) and the walk to the restaurant is short. Our waitress, Taylor, was so sweet, attentive, and knowledgeable of the menu. She provided except service! However, I may add that we were unaware the restaurant closes at 230PM (reopens at 5PM) and we had a reservation for 2PM - which made for a very grumpy sushi chef towards the end of our meal (we finished around 330PM). Nevertheless, the experience and sushi were still very pleasant (we sat at the sushi bar). We tried the flights of sake and although it was a good experience, I settled on a glass of wine. We both ordered the lunch omakase and it's the perfect size and flow. I really enjoyed the katsuo sashimi and the miso soup (it wasn't overly salty). The nigiri was extremely fresh and tasty - my faves were the chuturo and aki jake! We ordered additional nigiri - 2 unagi and 1 chuturo and 1 sake - my friend received her 2 unagi but unfortunately the sushi chef just gave me an unagi and chuturo - very unfortunate. We ended the meal with a matcha tiramisu and it was divine! Amazing spot with fresh sushi and attentive waitstaff. Just be sure to check the hours when booking so the experience with the sushi chef will go smooth!

Nami is good but your bill can build up quick! Our bill was probably high because we ordered these "exotic" ingredients We got the omakase option. The nigiri was good. I like the ankimo that Namo has, they know how to prepare it. Now where I think the bill got out of control was when we ordered the different types of Uni (sea urchin). We got one type where they told us it has to be eaten right away after it leaves its jar of "ocean water" or else it'll go bad within seconds... This couple with other Uni from different areas of Japan really put a dent in our pockets

This place is a joke. Firstly the sushi itself was good.. but that's it. It didn't blow me away. It didn't make me crap myself later, but that's minimum standard for sushi in my book. Anyway let's get to the point. $300 for about 15 pieces of sushi that I could get for $40 at home in Kansas for just as good or better. Total rip off. It's crappy to spend that much money and leave hungry. This place is for people who think it's trendy to eat sushi and have money to throw at it. There was nothing warm or comforting about it. Service was mid. Also why are you standing over my shoulder while I'm trying to tip? Like go away. Let me tip in peace. Like don't even respond to my post because blah blah blah I don't care what you have to say honestly. Anyway would never go back and never recommend. Also a hamburger sushi? Is this for people who wanna be "bad" and eat something with a little mayo? Gosh forbid... the audacity

Tried Namo for the first time and it definitely lived up to the hype. I didn't go for the omakase. Just ordered à la carte and honestly, everything I tried was super fresh and really well done. The space is small and sleek, and I loved sitting at the bar where you can watch the chefs work. It feels elevated but still chill, not stuffy or overly fancy. I ordered a few pieces of nigiri and a hand roll and all of it was great. The fish is high quality, and everything is super clean and simple in the best way. You can tell they really care about what they're serving. Overall though, I'd totally come back. Great date night spot or just a nice treat-yourself meal if you love sushi.

Namo is situated in a cute little shopping area in uptown with indoor and heated outdoor seating. We were seated outside and even in the winter it was very comfortable. Our server was attentive but not overbearing which I really appreciated. I ordered the Koshorita cocktail and it was delicious! For my meal, I ordered the chef's nigiri set, which was bigger than I was expecting. The fish quality was good, but I wasn't a huge fan of the rice - it seemed a little undercooked and soaked in soy sauce. Overall I enjoyed my experience but prefer other sushi restaurants in Dallas at this price level.

Absolutely enjoyed the food and service! Great place, great location, easy parking. Everything was great. The only little issue was the time of reservation and the fact that we were not aware that the restaurant is closing at 2:30 pm. I made a reservation via Resy and the 2:00 pm opening was the starting time. Little did I know they close at 2:30 and reopen at 5 pm. This affected our experience and definitely affected the mood of the chef, however, all of this could've been easily avoided if we were notified upon entry or Resy had appropriate hours. Otherwise definitely recommend this place. It was DELICIOUS'

Can't complain about the quality of the food here. Every bite was great, specifically the shima aji sashimi, hotate sashimi, and masu nigiri. Service was good. Great wine list. Complaints - Namo and Bar Colette play different music very loudly and I found it extremely annoying to have two different songs blasting (we sat outside). - I think you can get sushi just as good at other Dallas restaurants at lower prices, so it's hard to want to come back here.

I was really excited to try this spot but it was a bit disappointing especially for the price you pay for the omakase. The sushi pieces were pretty good and fresh but not super amazing where I would pay $195 per person to go back to. We got the signature namokase and it was definitely not worth the price. The service was okay but the whole omakase experience, I definitely expected more since it's on the more pricier side than some of the other sushi restaurants in the DFW area. Don't get me wrong, the sushi was fresh & good I just feel like there are better places to go for everything combined in one dining experience. The sushi chef barely explained what each fish was and it felt a little rushed. We sat for their last omakase seating at 9pm so it's not like they were that busy either. If we're spending $500 for dinner and drinks, I expect superb dining experience. The restaurant is small and intimate but this was a no for me. There are plenty of good sushi and way better service and experience for the price point! I would recommend going somewhere else or just don't do the signature namokase, not worth it! Won't be going back unfortunately.

Namo is easily one of my favorite dining experiences in Dallas. We sat at the bar, and it was super intimate, the whole dining room seats maybe 18 people, all surrounding the chefs as they prepare the sushi right in front of you. It makes the experience feel personal and special. The hosts, servers, and chefs were all incredibly kind and attentive, and you can tell everyone takes real pride in what they do. Every dish we tried was delicious, fresh, balanced, and beautifully presented. The ambiance is cozy and minimal in the best way. There's also outdoor seating, which looked really nice, but being inside at the bar in front of the chefs is definitely the move if you want the full experience. I'd absolutely recommend Namo and will definitely be back again soon.

Namo is a small and intimate place that is not small on service. Waters were filled after only taking one sip, and the menu was explained clearly. The food was authentic and every bite felt special. The fish was fresh and delicious. We did the namokase experience and we don't regret it one bit, was worth the penny in my opinion.

I had sushi in Texas, ya'll...and was pleasantly surprised! Being from LA and having traveled to Japan many times, I was stupefied by the quality of ingredients and the preparation. The fish was fresh and aged properly, the sushi rice was seasoned perfectly, and the nori was served while still crisp. I opted for their nigiri omakase, which wasn't necessarily value-priced comparative to LA or NY, but came with 12 nigiri courses (menu changes, as needed). All were sauced well and served in a timely manner. More than that, the service was excellent from start to finish - from reservations, food and beverage service, and even Allie who runs their wine and alcohol program (she took the time to offer counsel on the other restaurants I had lined up for the rest of the week of my visit). I am very skeptical to read about the negative reviews for Namo - I had an impressive experience.

How much does the omakase cost?

    Menu says.

Are they still serving dine in? Do they still have social hour? Looking for fresh sushi and sake?

Yes they are! Social hour is still going on from 4-6 as far as I know. Expanded outdoor seating now and the absolute best quality sushi in town.

One reviewer indicated that there is only "bar" seating. So I assume you are not a handicap friendly establishment?

Namo is handicapped friendly. There is a part of the bar that is at ADA height. All of bar stools are movable.

That's not where the differences stop as the Archive menu provides more traditional cocktails and a diverse array to choose from, with drinks you may be more familiar with. Alchemy on the other hand offers a more experimental approach to their drink menu, including creative cocktails that seem eclectic and never been tried before, using unusual ingredients or prepared in a unique way, but if you are feeling adventurous, I'd highly recommend trying the latter. Keep in mind, when entering Alchemy, the inside is very dark so if you want to see properly I would recommend sitting outside if it isn't too hot. To start, my friends and I ordered the truffle fries for the table and they were highly ranked in my opinion for best truffle fries in Dallas. They were perfectly crispy and flavored well with the truffle seasoning. For drinks, from the alchemy menu, we ordered the I Dream of Kiwi (my choice), Kaleidoscope Eyes, and Inappropriate Beet Pun. My drink was made up of bamboo tea gin, kiwi coconut water, plum wine, and kiwi boba. I liked the sweetness mixed with tartness and the boba balls added a nice touch. Additionally we ordered the pineapple soft serve margaritas (it was my first time experiencing soft serve margs) and I really enjoyed Apothecary's version. The pineapple flavor was tangy alongside the creaminess of the ice cream. And there was a nice chili salt garnish (similar to tajin) added on top. For food, I ordered the Lil' Thuggies, a hilarious name for a dish that is actually very delicious. It consisted of popcorn chicken nuggets, cooked in sweet tea brine and spiced flour, served with a side of epazote ranch and korean wing sauce respectively. My friends ordered the Japanese elotes and Muhammara (roasted red pepper & walnut spread, greek oil, sea salt, microgreens, grilled baguette). Both very tasty as well, with the elotes having a cream sauce on top. Overall I can't wait to go back to apothecary and maybe try the other side next time.

Ordered a couple "Over the Counter" cocktails - frozen pineapple margarita and an old fashioned. Happy hour also included a lot of food options so we chose to just order a bunch off of that - Icelandic Hotdog, Caviar Chip (both bite sized), oysters, beef cheek tacos, and a caesar salad and burger to split. Was more than enough! We also tried the frozen Irish Coffee and Horseplay (horseradish agua fresca) and then went for our second reservation at Alchemy. Alchemy is more experimental. Here we tried a kimchi based cocktail and the sauerkraut cake. Food and drinks were all phenomenal and the atmosphere of both bars was moody and elegant. Definitely plan to come back to try more drinks! All wait staff were very friendly and the owner even stopped by to chat with us.

At least one leg has been kicked out, one is suffering. The Mansion Bar used to have a great recipe for success - proven by how busy and regular the customers were and loyal (or was), and the top tier talent that was routine for 10+ years. Me and my friends have a relationship with the long time staff as customers as well as the excellent music talent. The cause? Not precisely sure but I think it's new ownership, at the very least a new Food & Bev manager. I also know the staff is very upset about these changes and the relationships with the repeat music talent is now a mess. I wouldn't be surprise if the staff start leaving. I'm hoping whomever is making these decisions can revert back to what was working. Dallas has a lot of great venues that will fill this void.
