Never could go wrong with their 3 street taco plate w/rice and beans. Would I be back? Already have multiple times. We received several more warm Tortilla Chips after I ordered Medium-sized Guacamole to join them. The Guac was mild and tasty. A Small Bowl of Albondigas Soup with six Mexican meatballs was not small at all. It also contained delicious broth and sweet al dente carrots. Onions and Cilantro were also provided to toss in the soup. And I made good use of the two Flour Tortillas and Mexican Rice that came with the soup, in addition to a side of Refried Beans that I purchased to go with the tortillas. Guac was also applied to the two burritos essentially created with the tortillas. I lost track of my food, reaching for a second Flour Tortilla to fill before realizing that I had already consumed both tortillas. I also ate a Hard Shell Shredded Beef Taco that was packed with meat, cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes. Augmented with some Guac, the crunchy taco was a delightful ending to a sumptuous meal. At the time I didn't even realize that because we were dining on a Tuesday, the taco only cost a mere $3.00. Had I known this before I received the check, I would have purchased another hard shell taco to take home for lunch the next day. Meanwhile, Diane was thrilled with her special order of Battered Shrimp but considered the frozen krinkle-cut French Fries to be rather ordinary. Service was ultimately very good, but the one waiter in the dining room during our stay was out of the dining room much of the time. The dining room and men's restroom were clean and tidy. 4-1/2 stars overall this time around!

I ordered two carne asada tacos and two cabeza tacos. The carne asada tacos were the standout--tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The cabeza tacos were good too, although I think the meat could use just a little more seasoning. The tortillas weren't handmade, but they were grilled nicely and paired well with the tacos. The atmosphere was relaxed with great décor, plenty of seating, and I sat at the bar for a quick 30-minute lunch. The waitress was incredibly friendly, and I appreciated that the chef personally brought my food out to me. Overall, I'd give El Tepeyac an 8.7/10. Great service, great atmosphere, solid food, and they even have Taco Tuesday specials. If you've been driving by this place like I have, stop in and give it a try. Because they typically provide very little salsa (which honestly is what makes the food), I called the restaurant ahead of time to ask about adding extra. The woman I spoke with told me they would include 10 green salsas and that I could pay for the extras. She wasn't able to process payment over the phone, so I went back into the app and added an additional side of guacamole per person to increase the order. When the order arrived, we only received 6 green salsas and nothing extra. When I called the restaurant, the same woman said she didn't see anything on her end showing the additions, so she didn't include them -- even though she had already told me she would. For a $55 order, not including the extra salsa that was discussed is frustrating, especially when this has been an ongoing issue with missing items in previous orders. On top of that, we ordered four separate dinners and everything was combined into just two containers. The lack of attention to the order and the dismissive response when I called back were disappointing. Unfortunately, after multiple experiences like this, I won't be ordering from here again.

The hour show they were open, walked in and there's no customers. No employees don't want to be seen, but it's lit up and sounded functioning. We walked out to naw sure they didn't have a private party tonight, went back in confused and then walked out again. The first time I came, they let us sit there for 45 minutes without offering drinks.. The service was really bad and it was hard to get our full order with out asking for the items that were missing. We returned just to give this place another chance, and it will be the last. Then an employee opened the bar side door of the restaurant and said they were open. I told her I couldn't tell because iit showed closed. She took our orders was very rude about taking the orders when the chimichanga was ordered by my child she said she wanted it with rice and beans and the server acted confused and questioned her as if it didn't display it came with two sides on the menu. Food was served it was bland. The chimichanga was missing a guacamole. No one returned to our table to check on us. The bus boy walked by and glance at us. I called for him three times he ignored. There were zero people in the restaurant still. Another waitress, walked by, also didint acknowledge and I had not seen our waitress to ask for the guacamole. I had to hunt them down to request the guacamole then when we asked for the check the bus boy brought it. The different waitress picked it up and I ask why there was a charge for sour cream on there when we did not order it. She immediately removed it. I had the wet burrito with chili Verde. The burrito was fairly dry. The beans tasted bland and pasty. Rice had no flavor dry. The burrito was dry and tasteless. Bad service, bad food.
