I got a salmon roll that had plenty of fish and was reasonably priced I also got some Nigiri that was very was fresh. The house salad was not my favorite but still OK, the ginger dressing was probably my least favorite I had but I'm coming here for raw fish not lettuce . I had to try one of their "live" specials, and decided to go with the live sea urchin which sure was something to look at, although THAT much sea urchin is not necessarily my cup of tea. Also, if you get the sweet shrimp, get the one with the head for $3 more, because the crispy fried head was so bomb and totally worth it!! The love roll was truly superb, but their mark roll was super bleh, felt like something you could find at any dingy sushi place. This has become my favorite sushi place in town. The fish is so fresh and tasty. The atmosphere (looking out over the water from either the full wall of windows inside or the patio seating) is tranquil and beautiful. Good beer selection. And the price is amazing. What has given it 5 stars over time is that I have tried more local places (thus giving me a proper bar to compare it to) and the consistency over time. Holy crap, I can't believe I only just tried this place!! Came with some friends, one of whom had a Living Social deal. Prices were already reasonable, so I would totally go back without one. Anyway, all the food was super fresh and tasty. I can't remember exactly what we ordered but it was delicious. We did share an entire red mullet sashimi that was only like $12 and it was pretty good. They also had live sashimi on the menu but that sh** creeps me out. Anyway, the location is perfect for a romantic sunset dinner, right on the water! Really cool, authentic Japanese hole-in-the-wall with supreme food. The squid, rockfish, and tuna sashimi are amazing. They serve beer. The place is quiet, quaint, and no-frills, with an open kitchen. It's a casual, cozy atmosphere. They also have tables around the perimeter where you remove your shoes and sit cross-legged, as if eating on the floor in Japan. The service is no-frills as well, but good, and you will not wish for another drink or water for more than a minute. They have a very large selection of sushi rolls, and we have enjoyed all of them! The Amy roll in particular was an excellent combination. We have never ordered from the large menu, just the paper sushi menu provided when you first sit down. This is a great date spot for a no-pressure date, with a quaint little table, and you can actually hear each other talk. The sushi and sashimi are both SO good and the fish SO fresh! read more

I haven't been in that neighborhood in a while, and a few years have passed so I decided to give it a go! I made the right decision. I had the basics, a tuna roll and a cucumber roll. Our favorite sushi in Baltimore. We eat here all the time, both at the restaurant and carry out (they do a great job on takeout). Fish is fresh and delicious. They take great care with the presentation (who doesn't love when their sushi is artfully arranged in a boat?) and the variety of rolls is excellent. It is a also reasonably priced for the quantity and quality. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Love sitting outside by the water on warm days, but the inside is nice too. I was looking for a new sushi spot in the city and stumbled upon Nanami. They conveniently had a Living Social at the time, so I purchased it and went straight to dinner. I've lived in Baltimore my whole life and always hang out in Fells and never knew Nanami existed. The sushi and mochi was great. Tons of options for rolls. Server was attentive. For some reason our wasabi wasn't spicy so we had to keep asking for more - but that's my only complaint. Go visit and take your shoes off! This is a cute Japanese spot by the water in Fells Point. I've only been here during lunchtime, and have always had a good experience. Their food is good, but not exceptional. Sometimes, it makes me wonder if they're trying too hard to save money. I once ordered a vegetable tempura meal, and one of the tempura'd vegetables was a huge slice of squash! And, an order of oyakodon (vegetables, chicken, and egg over rice) had chopped spring onions as the only "vegetables." Their sushi is good, and is arguably the best sushi in Fells, but there's not much competition. I imagine a lot of the inflated ratings is based on the lack of options in the area. Not only do I think the sushi is better tasting than equally priced sushi bars but the rolls are 8 pieces instead of 6 and there is a great selection. Although this is our first review for the cafe, we have been regulars at this place for about 1.5 years now and tend to get the same thing: edamame, fried tofu, veggie potstickers, veggie yakisoba noodles, assorted veggie rolls, and assorted mochi for dessert. We've had good luck with take out (properly packed and complete orders) and with eating in (the space is small but welcoming, and the service is efficient w/o feeling rushed). I love this place. The staff is very friendly and I've never had anything bad here. Their salmon sashimi is always very fresh. I love the asparagus & squash roll. We had the Honeymoon Roll this weekend with smoked salmon and crab. Very, very tasty. Also had the live scallops and enjoyed that. Extremely fresh and clean. The only drawback is the pirate ship parked out front. I think Fells needs to send that ship packing to the Inner Harbor where it belongs. read more
