One of the sales clerks (I didn't catch her name) immediately asked if I had questions and started to show me the one model I had been most interested in. She asked some thoughtful questions and ended up showing me a couple different options and even mentioned some upcoming models that aren't released yet that would be better suited for what I was looking for. I literally didn't buy anything and was there for maybe 10 minutes but had such a positive interaction and left feeling so much less confused and overwhelmed. Will definitely be back for some more shopping when it's closer to my due date!

This shop is located in Bridgeport Village Shopping Center, an open air mall in Tualatin, and though there's not parking right in front of it there's plenty of parking kind of around the corner. They have some truly lovely stuff here. There was one brand called Viverano that caught my eye almost as soon as we walked in and I'm not sure if I should be glad or not that my daughter has gotten close enough to aging out of their size range (their biggest size is 18-24) because their cardigans on display here were gorgeous. And adorable!! They carry children's clothes in a higher range of sizes than some kid's stores, I think. In addition to clothes there are some toys and kid-related things like plates, books, and so on. I found a great dress for my kiddo and I can't wait to see her in it; although it says it's a 2T, and she's in the 95th percentile or higher for height and weight, this is super big on her so I'll try it again when she's closer to two. They had some really cute spring dresses when we were here but I restrained myself. The staff here was really welcoming and friendly, and sweet with their little clients. I was really pleased with my experience here. In checking out their website, I see that they specifically mention that if you purchase online they are happy to run your purchases out to your car so that you don't have to find a spot and lug in your littles. That is so helpful and if I was living in Oregon right now that would be a big attraction to me. As it is, I will be following them on social media and keeping an eye on their sales.

Upon entering, my husband gave a warm greeting to the sole employee by saying "Hi! How are you?" To which she simply glared and continued her phone conversation. Ok, strike one. As we perused, her convo became increasingly more apparent that it was a personal call and not work related. She was booking and adding additional treatments to her HAIR APPOINTMENT!! No "give me a minute and I will assist you", "if you need any help with anything just let me know!", or even a "Hi! Welcome to Le D Bug!"... second strike. She just continued to look annoyed and oblivious to the customers wandering the store in general (we were the only ones present outside of herself). This was the last strike. It was uncomfortable so we ultimately left. She once again made no move to say "bye", "thank you", "eff you", literally NOTHING. They have a decent amount of nontoxic options, a mix of cute and cheesy clothing. Leans more towards girls than boys but that's merely based on my 5 mins inside. Your lack of CS, human decency, or even personable interaction cost you a nice hefty sale. I'll trek down to the Pearl next time...

Although it is primarily a consignment children's clothing store, you'll also find no shortage of wonderful, analog toys to plant the seeds of imagination in your little ones, in the hope that they'll sprout into clever, intelligent, fully-functioning, not-screen-addicted adults! This must be a conscious choice, because I could find nary an electronic device anywhere in the shop! Big kudos from me on that point alone! As for the clothing, let's just say, you're spoilt for choice. While some of the items are a little on the pricier side than I would like for a consignment shop, the quality of the clothing here is impeccable: clean, well-organized, and a healthy variety of sizes and styles. Everything you could need for any age, from newborn and toddler, up through the early grade school years: shirts, pants, dresses, hats, coats, shoes (TONS of shoes!), costumes, and all sorts of accessories! There's also a small selection of baby stuff in the back, including cribs, swings, and a host of different devices that I have no clue as to their function, but will assuredly be learning about them in the coming months (my wife is due next month)! In the last year, I have come to learn that shopping for a new child sucks, mostly because there is a dearth of places that have any quantity of clothing and accessories, outside of the big box stores, which I would prefer not to frequent, if possible. Thankfully, Beanstalk is here to pick up the slack, but you DO have to make an effort to get here during operating hours, particularly if you work during the week: Saturday (from 10am to 5pm) is your only real available option.

The sales person said people get some really great deals at their store and they won't raise the price. That was awesome. I'm giving them a 3 star review because they did offer refunds for each issue and apologies, and acknowledge we make mistakes, I am just bothered it's repeated and over the course of a couple of years. We haven't had issues with clothes or shoes but specifically with either toys missing entire pieces repeatedly or broken toys. First it was a build a bear wheelchair that was clearly taped together then broke same day we bought it. Then it was a pink baby stroller that had a gem over a missing screw so it never worked right. Then it was a wooden toy set that had broken pieces and then missing pieces. And recently we bought a train set that didn't even have the correct train pieces in it. They offered refunds for all and apologies so I do want to make that known, I feel as though if you know this is an issue, this shouldn't keep happening. My child gets her hopes up every time to then have to take it away from her. We were able to give away the train set and decided to not take the refund as my partner felt uncomfortable going back in. Saying you're human and we make mistakes is true, yet the issue needs to stop happening. Attacking people for leaving honest reviews isn't professional and I see a lot of that in the owners response. Yes it can be nice if they contact you first but it's not required. Your apologies doesn't negate the experience especially if it's a repeated experience. If you shop here, please make sure you count, check and quality check the toys you are getting. Luckily we live very very close and hasn't been a huge inconvenience but it could be for a family that's visiting out of town or doesn't live close. I do want to add something since the owner responded and I feel as though it should be said, if you're putting the blame on your staff consistently, then maybe the staff needs to change because these mistakes are costing customers and ultimately money for the business. The woman who was at the store--the owner, I think, based on our conversation--was friendly and super helpful. She knows her merchandise inside and out. She carries clothing here that I've never seen before at the children's stores I usually visit in the Chicago area (I've already told the owner of one of them that she needs to look into these brands!). I really appreciated that she explained the sizing system since I was a bit perplexed at first (maybe she saw my confusion)--since some are brands based in other countries, they're sized by centimeter but the American sizing equivalent is on the back of the tag (though can we talk about that cm/in sizing system for a moment, because it would make my life infinitely easier when trying to buy kid clothes....) Almost the moment I walked into the shop I zeroed in on this adooooorable pantsuit for my daughter, and a darling dress. I'm buying a little larger for her since she's a high percentile child and I'm looking forward to seeing her in these when she's big enough to wear them. They also sell local goods--I bought a Portland-themed t-shirt for the babe. I asked about a local shoe company I'd heard of that listed BW as a retailer and though they don't carry that brand any longer, she showed me a different local brand they carry called Ozznek (which has super cool shoes with removable soles!!) and I bought two pair for my little. This lovely little store was worth the visit; I will definitely return and I'm keeping an eye on their socials. I think they ship as well so between that and stopping in when I'm home visiting my mom I can keep my babe in cool duds. Parking is on the street, and it was easy for me in late morning/early afternoon on a Thursday, but I'm not sure if they have any parking lots or garages for visitors to Portland's Boise neighborhood.

Between postpartum recovery and caring for a newborn, it was impossible to return within that timeframe, and I went in 3 weeks after giving birth hoping for some understanding. Unfortunately, the manager was not empathetic or willing to help, even though the item was brand new and unusable for my baby. I understand stores have policies, but some compassion and flexibility for new parents would go a long way. Very disappointing experience from a store I previously enjoyed supporting.

Unlike all those snooty overpriced "local pdx" places in downtown, Donna & Toots has nice clothes at reasonable prices... But wait, there's more. When I tried on a shirt that didn't fit quite right, Suzanne said, Oh, that's one of ours, I can make it for you. Huhwha? For the same price as off-the-rack, Suzanne helped me pick my favorite pretty fabric, shiny buttons, and made an adjustment so the shirt fits just right. And, she emailed me when it was ready! I loved it so much, I ordered a second one as soon as the first was in.

I never gave children's stores much attention before the birth of my (ridiculously handsome) baby…read moreson, but after he was born, I became intimately acquainted with how expensive kids can be. Fortunately, places like Pinwheels help take the edge off of clothing and entertaining the little guy! Clothing, shoes, accessories, toys, books, games, strollers, swings: it's all here! And it's all a bargain! Lightly used? Just about everything seems about as close to brand new as possible; *I'd* certainly never know the difference. There's even a "diaper depot" (as I like to call it anyway): a drop box where you can donate extra diapers you no longer need, so that others less fortunate can take them for free; a heartwarming touch that immediately endeared me to this place. The owner is a vibrant, wonderful woman who immediately engaged us upon entering, and make the whole experience a true pleasure. And she has an eye for style, quality, and most important in a resale shop: cleanliness! We bought a pair of shoes and a few toys this time around, but I foresee many return visits to Pinwheels, and not just to re-sell the clothes my son outgrows. I'd rather shop here for his needs than any big box store in the Portland area.
