Da Nani is da bomb! A food truck parked at Whaler Village is a fun idea. There are a lot of food…read morechoices here, but the menu here is extensive, reasonable, and delicious! The first day I ate here I would have given it a four. I got the catch of the day, which was mahi-mahi, in a Mac nut crema with rice and Mac salad. Honestly their Mac salad was nothing special and I didn't want to eat it. It also was not a huge portion of fish. But it was still tasty. And the cabbage yes the fish came on was frankly amazing! I loved it and wanted more... And I usually don't get so excited about cabbage. I decided to come the next day two for lunch to try something else on the menu. I got the seared ahi sliders which come with fries, and a side of cabbage salad (they call it coleslaw but it is not drenched in mayo). WOW!! The ahi was so fresh and huge portions. And the fries were extremely delicious. I got full before I could eat all of the cabbage. My sweetie ordered something with meat, I forget what lol, but he really liked it. They were also very considerate about his fish allergy and explained that my ahi would not be made near his dish. Lots of choices here, but I bet you I will be back at at least once this week. Highly recommended and with plenty of bench choices for outdoor seating (though it might get more hectic during Christmas week).

Wow, I am still dreaming about this food…read more We stopped by South Maui Fish Company's food truck to grab food on our way to watch the Kihei sunset. We ordered the catch of the day poke (marlin) bowl with the spicy aioli sauce, and the Ahi poke bowl with the traditional Shoyu based sauce. We also got rice and slaw. Both fish plates were fresh, flavorful, and delicious. The slaw was also very refreshing and complimented the richness of the poke really well. We will absolutely be back the next time we are in Maui!

Was pretty skeptical that this banana bread would top the other banana breads I had tried on this…read moretrip, but man, this takes first place. Once you reach this stop on your Road to Hana tour, make sure you get one ($10). The loaf is served warm, and man, it is good. You can't, or aren't supposed to, eat it there since there is a sign saying this place is grab-and-go only, so we ate it in the car on our way to the next stop. Between the two of us, it was basically more than half gone. It is not too sweet (in a good way), airy, light, and just really good homemade banana bread. The cashier was really nice and service was really fast. Since it is on the peninsula, the drive is also beautiful with waves crashing into the rocks.

banana bread ($9.55) - this was a basic banana bread but…read moreeverything done right; there could be enhancements but it has already made me more than satisfied - it came out hot and fresh with banana aroma just floating everywhere - the texture was quite impressive only because i havent baked or had a banana bread with crispy edges and soft and chewy interior - most importantly, the moisture was perfectly retained; it could be a tad bit more moist but it was already great especially given the fact that i had it a day later and it was still JUST AS MOIST - one thing i thought could be better to enhance the texture is adding walnuts, so it wouldn't taste so plain like biting through soft bread rating: 4.5/5 - not the DREAM banana bread but a good basic banana bread id get again for a long road trip - good snack to nibble on and worth the price! - quick service; remember to bring cash IG: @nom.noms.only

Five years ago I was so impressed that when I came back, I had it on my must eat list!…read more I had intended to eat here much earlier during the trip, but the Kona storm had different plans. So it was again the meal right before going to the airport to go home and the gate was closed, but I saw people eating inside so I did what I would not do In DC, which is get out of the car and just ask if it was open. I wouldn't do that In DC because it's just a little scary here. And a nice people called out to Ola the chef and he opened the gate for us!! This time it felt extra special. It was like eating with a dear old friend and come to find out Ola was living in Columbia Heights just before the pandemic. (We are frequenters of Columbia heights!) We really felt spoiled and cared for here. He whipped up an amazing bed of salad for both of us. The greens here in Maui are just so fresh and the flavors are so good and of course we topped it with mahi mahi either grilled or taco style. He also gave us coconut water and a smoothie and fresh papaya which I told him I only eat on the island, which is true because it doesn't taste as good anywhere else that I know. What a way to end a trip with a flood and power outage in the middle of it. When troubles come later at home, which they will, I will think back fondly and give things for the experience we had here. And there was so much food that I was blessed to take the food on the airplane which served as my main meal (bc I can't eat any of the things that is on the plane sadly with my limitations. Delta loves to serve things with lots of cheese or dairy.) When it's not too windy, sitting outside under the tent is a lovely way to enjoy. I hope I can be back in less than five years to enjoy Ola's food at Ula Ula again. I don't know why they don't have more reviews but after we came in, was glad to see more people come in through. I really think so highly a food trucks in general in Maui, but this is definitely a top winner and a true gem!!
