These guys know how to do breakfast!!! Excellent restaurant!! The food is great, portions are big (despite other reviews) it's very clean and sanitary, and they have hash browns, YAY! The decor is fresh and new... from mason jars to twinkle lights and of course Nancy's favorite ...the trivia blackboard! Waitresses are pleasant, funny and attentive! Coffee (from a coffee snob) is very good! If something doesn't suit your fancy... my guess... just politely mention it and these nice folks will meet your needs! Dear Tiny Infant Jesus, we thank you dearly for this establishment being established. Bless Nancy for being a super kick ass lady wearing a Doctor Who t-shirt on our first of hopefully many visits to the glory that is her cafe which brings me closer to you in heaven. I am not worthy of the delicious omelettes that was presented before me, for I succumbed to the devil's delicious seductress that is their hot sauce. Forgive my gluttony as I savored every last morsel in the symphony of angels. From service to food, this place is top tier. Came in for breakfast with my family and ordered Banana Foster's french toast, The Mess, and a kids chocolate chip pancakes. First, the pancakes were pretty close to the best chocolate chip pancakes I've ever had. The French toast was yummy and unique! The Mess was extremely small and undersized for the price ($11.25). Not even half the plate was filled and all it consists of is potatoes, two eggs, bacon, cheese, sour cream, 1/4 of an avocado, and some salsa. Very small portion for what it was and the cost. The prices are very, very high--$6.75 for a kids chocolate chip pancake that consists of two cakes without anything else. I can't get the same kids meal for half the price at other breakfast places in town. The French Toast which didn't include anything but that, cost $12.xx. It was yummy, but the prices are a little extreme for a breakfast joint. read more

Sat outside with a friend and was cheerfully greeted by the owner/waitress, Nancy. The service was above & beyond, the menu had a huge selection of meat, vegetarian and vegan choices. I ordered a veggie hash and it was enough for two meals for me. The veggies were fresh & cooked perfectly and the raspberry jam had to be homemade, yum. This place is tucked away but is so worth the visit! Their breakfast menu is varied and the food is excellent. I order a tofu scramble, and always get extra vegetables, which makes for a good size breakfast! The omelettes are large, and the menu is varied. We usually love Nancy's (hence the three stars) and stop by whenever passing through Auburn but this time was a miss for us. The wait was supposed to be about 20 min but we waited for about an hour. We had a long drive ahead of us or would have skipped it. The first issue was asking how much longer a wait for an inside table would be, and it seemed this was apparently the worst question the server had ever been asked. So we sat outside. Two minutes later another couple was sat inside. (Beware of flies and very hungry waiting people crowding you if sitting outside). I ordered the same thing I do and my fiancé ordered his same order as well. His came burnt (potatoes, toast, bacon everything over cooked). I was so hungry I ate half my burrito before realizing it tasted bland, because it was missing the main ingredient- the tofu scramble. So I had a potato burrito basically. After at least 90 minutes I just gave up and ate until I was at least full. I was really looking forward to this place since we live pretty far and will definitely be hesitant suggesting it in the future if we're on a schedule. If you have plenty of time it's still a good spot. read more

Upgrading to 5 stars after having an outstanding breakfast this morning. I had a single pancake with an egg and bacon. Wife had a vegetarian omelette with roasted potatoes and (large!) biscuit. EVERYTHING was excellent. Pancake was fluffy, egg done perfect, omelet was best both of us have had in a while (thick and fluffy), roasted potatoes done perfect, and as always, pretty damn good coffee. I'd give more stars if it were possible. There are several good breakfast places in Auburn, but this will be our go-to now. read more

This is a cute little breakfast place located in a random shopping center. Definitely make your first right when exiting the freeway or you'll miss it. It's not really marked as a turn but it's literally your first right. They have a large selection of breakfast and lunch items. All of which are fresh and delicious. I had your basic breakfast of two eggs with sausage links...now I wasn't a fan of the links so I'd probably get the patties next time. Their hashbrowns are amazing though so I quickly got over my dislike of the sausage. My boyfriend ordered the breakfast burrito and it was huge. So huge that we ended up taking the rest home. I'm a huge fan of their freshly squeezed orange juice that will run you about $4.75 but it's delicious and beats store bought any day! read more

Yay for Nancy's Cafe! My daughter and I just went today, and we loved our breakfast. My 2 y.o. had a yogurt parfait and boy did that look delicious. A huge mason jar layered with yogurt, granola, and delicious ripe fruit. I ordered the Benedict Arnold, which is a benny with veggie sausage. I ate every bite (minus the bites my kid ate). For my side I chose the fruit, and I was not disappointed. Ripe peaches, berries, and apples. Not your typical under-ripe melon and oranges. Next time (which will be soon), we will have to get lunch. First time at Nancy's. Modestly crowded for a Sunday morning. But did not have to wait too long. By myself so I sat outside. It was a nice day for a change. Service was good. I had the chicken fried steak, with sausage gravy biscuit. They gave me fruit which I asked for as a added side but they for got the hash browns, which they quickly fixed. All of the food was great. Chicken fried was crispy but tender. Gravy was good. Biscuit was a little dense they could work on that. All in a very good breakfast place. read more

This place is a hidden gem! Walked in and was greeted warmly by Nancy and seated right away. The coffee was good and served right away and the food was DELICIOUS- ordered scrambled eggs, roasted potatoes and a homemade biscuit with butter and raspberry jam. Nancy made sure we were topped off with hot coffee every few minutes, and continuously checked in and warmly chatted with each of the guests. This cafe is a must when in Auburn! read more

Absolutely wonderful food and ambiance. After so may delicious looking items on the menu I opted for the homemade corned beef hash and eggs. It was perfect and way to much to eat. Found this place on YELP on the way home from Reno. Don't be fooled by the strip mall location or the disorganized seating of waiting patrons. This place is awesome! The coffee was fresh and hot and the service was quick once we were seated. The veggie omelette was stuffed with fresh veggies and was delicious! The fresh fruit was perfect and ripe. My husband devoured the breakfast tacos, and he is not a big eater early in the day. The owner's children make a bottled garlic habanero sauce that is wonderful: we bought two bottles to take home, along with a jar of apricot jam. ( I'm not a big apricot fan but this was amazing. How can I give Nancy and fam a bad review???? The service was, as always, amazing!! If I could give any constructive criticism at all it would be to change your menu up a little (especially lunch) so not to mirror Edelweiss. I had the French dip, and it lacked flavor and was very fatty, bread was amazing, fries were amazing! My son had French toast, and I was so impressed! My dad got the patty melt, again, lacked flavor and too greasy. Side salad was beautiful and very tasty! Ambiance was special, but only because of the awesome customers :) you totally deserve a bigger place! Next time I will try the Reuben Benedict!! Nancy is an awesome local lady who used to work at edilweiss (another breakfast nook) for many years and that was my favorite place to eat until she opened up her own restaurant. My husband and I both had breakfast there and I can't wait to go back. Things you MUST TRY -The Monte Cristo Sandwitch (very hard to find a place who does it right but Nancy knows how it's done ie: it's everything you've ever wanted in a breakfast and more!) -The Breakfast Burger (absolute witchcraft! I wanted to order 10 to go! The fries were the best!!!) The coffee was even perfect and Nancy's earrings matched the special that day which was a Breakfast Burrito. Shes got an entire collection of diner themed jewelry. I just can't say enough about this place and I'm very eager to return! You should eat there. Just do it. Your tummy will thank you! read more

After a weekend in Reno - we stopped in Auburn for breakfast and came upon Nancy's Cafe. This spot is located in a shopping center and the sign reads "Restaurant" not Nancy's Cafe... keep that in mind or you will be driving around in circles. The place is cute, small and simple menu. My husband and I ordered breakfast dishes, I had the breakfast burrito which was HUGE but very tasty. I could only eat 1/2 and took the rest home. My husband ordered a basic breakfast and he said everything was really good. Hopefully we'll be back in the area again. The people who run the joint are very polite and funny.
