Ahh Nancy s is an institution. Their lobster rolls are good but their fish and chips are better. Definitely worth a stop

We had a wonderful dinner at Nancy's upstairs and would recommend it to vineyard visitors, for sure. We would give it five stars except the prices are a little daunting. The food was good and the service was top notch. The location & view are also perfect. The grilled swordfish was good, but the "lobster butter" that it came with was literally a small dob of butter on the side that was still frozen - not the melted butter drizzled on top with big chunks of lobster that I imagined - and the lobster in the butter was barely visible. The house burger was a hit. The kids meals were a good size. Our waiter really went the extra mile for us which made the experience so positive. read more

One word: Jamaican Rum Punch. Okay, technically, that is three words. Just order one and consume it. Then order another! I sat outside w/ my mom the other day and it was a rainy/gross day. But the happy bartender was more than kind to make us some drinks. Plus, they played Bob Marley and Jamaican Rap. Nice mon!! We grabbed lunch at Nancy's Upstairs. It's definitely more white table cloth than the downstairs snack bar. Drinks run about $10 and we racked up a bill of nearly $100 with three drinks, a lobster roll, crab dip and a dozen oysters. Deck looks nice, but maybe just for drinks later. The food is decent, but pricey. I'll check out the more casual Snack Bar downstairs next time I need fried seafood or a lobster roll. read more

Awesome! I went here for my birthday and I LOVED IT. I don't eat much seafood but the quesadillas and the chicken wrap were really good. Kinda overpriced,but it's the Vineyard what do you expect. Like I said I was there for my birthday so I wasn't too concerned about the food. The drinks were AWESOME! There was one called the Stormy night or dark and stormy night. It was amazing. We rode the ferry to Martha's Vineyard and biked here from Vineyard Haven (which is dry thanks to Carly Simon) looking for food and drink. Boy did we find it! This place has island music playing, tiki umbrellas, and tasty grub! I had a lobster roll ($14.50) plus a cup of the excellent chowder ($5), rounded out by a pina colada ($7.50) made by one very talented bartender. One of the best lobster rolls I have ever had, hands down. You order from a window and they call your number--very fast and friendly service. read more

Perfect location and ambience overlooking the water. My husband had a really delicious blackened chicken sandwich (those are hard to get right... everyone always seems to overlook them!) and I had a Greek wrap with grilled shrimp. It's just great! Sure its pricey, sure its touristy, but its a great location with the menu you seek when you head out to the vineyard and you can never beat an outdoor seating area with a bar close at hand. Typical fried clams, steamers, and chowder fare are good enough to make it an always worthwhile stop. First and only time there, it was pretty good. It's got the best location/view, right in the dock area. Sat upstairs, at around 6ish. Great views. The staff was pretty friendly and attentive. The food was good. My kids ate all their food, which is a rarity, especial at a restaurant. The drinks were also pretty good. I went to Nancy's with a friend during a weeknight. Service was excellent. We were seated quickly, our waitress was outstanding and it appeared everyone else received the same excellent service. The draft beer was not as cold as it should have been and it was a bit flat. This was not isolated to one particular beer as we tried two different kinds of draft, both were mediocre. I had a mixed drink, a bit on the watery side, average at best. The Oysters were fresh and excellent. The meals were mixed. My friend loved his seafood dish and virtually licked the plate clean. My seafood dish was a bit overdone and just OK. The sides weren't good at all. We sat outside, great views, good crowd, great mix of different types of people. And like everything else on the Vineyard, it was very expensive. Even though I rate this place average I would return and recommend. Though I suggest sticking with the Oysters and bottled beer or wine. read more

Although we have lived on the island for the last 4 summers we always looked at Nancy's as a tourist trap but on Thursday night we decided to give it a try since it was not busy. We sat in the small bar section on the first floor and overlooked the harbor. The bartender/waiter was attentive and friendly. I had the best fish taco's ever - they had pickled onion, pineapple and wasabi mayo, with a large piece of haddock and a side of greens - excellent!! nothing to write home about. I know it was the end of the season but.... the scallops had a very strong after taste. the clam strips were ok in the beginning but at the bottom of the container there was just fried batter. have had way better onion rings and cold slaw. the fish was so tasteless my husband had to put ketchup on it. he's never had to do that at any other restaurant. oh well. live and learn. read more

Wow, Nancy's used to put out great food at a decent price. There have been some changes, maybe the chef?? The Seafood Special for two at $90 seems liked winner. Then lobster, mussels, etc were OVERLY salted.. Just gross!! The waitress was stressed and rushed us to move on to other tables. With that we still left her a tip. This is very disappointing as the location is perfect and the view is breathtaking. Next time I'm ordering pizza!! read more

I've been going here ever since I was a kid. So I knew when I was coming to the island this had to be a stop on my list. And I have to say the food was pretty solid. Usually my family and I eat on the patio because of the scenery and short wait. But today we opted for the dining room and it was great. This is my ideal place to drink on Martha's Vineyard. Jimmy Buffett would be proud. Just sit on their upstairs deck under a palm tree umbrella and stare at the water as you chat up locals and vacationers alike. There's a quick and friendly bar staff that will serve you a variety of drinks from margaritas to bud light lime. I didn't eat there, but I did spend a great night here, chilling and making friends. Definitely keeping it on the list for a good time when I'm visiting the Vineyard. read more

Very disappointed in my experience at Nancy's. The lobster roll was not very good at all. It was the first lobster roll I have ever had. Maybe it was not the best place to order a lobster roll. Great Lobster Roll. Great view of the Harbor. Good to hang and enjoy the scenery. Yes, it is touristy but it is in a great location and have a diverse selection menu with focus on seafood. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Indoor restaurant is clean and well staffed. Served with real glass for drinks. Outdoor serves drinks in plastic. Not cheap but not way over the top either. Definitely will visit again.....again, the lobster roll is very tasty. read more

I come here for drinks and the food was actually not bad. The lobster roll was good but make sure you ask for a hot lobster roll because that makes a difference. The seafood plate was really good and the portion was a good size too. I was very surprised about the clam chowder was since and thick which I wasn't expecting from a snack bar. Horrible service, our server was Shantal. Because of her, our whole experience was ruined. We were a party of 6 but 4 of us came and other 2 were coming later. She came every 10min to check when the rest of our party is coming. We told her every single time that they will arrive shortly. After ordering apps and drinks she came at 8:09pm and asked if we want to order more food because the kitchen is closing shortly. We asked what time does the kitchen closes and she said 9pm. We were shocked that she was rushing us all the time when we clearly had plenty of time and we were not the only table. We saw her going and talking to the manager and they both were like bothered that we were there. Sooo rude. At least have a policy not to seat incomplete parties rather than being fake and smiling and making us to order food as soon as possible. Food was good but the service just sucks read more

Took our grandkids to Nancy's for our traditional end of school lunch and, we were so disappointed in the poor quality of our meals. The fried shrimp looked like they came out of a grocery store frozen food section. There was a minuscule patty and almost no cheese on the cheeseburger. My fried clams did not taste fresh, more like they had been sitting around for more than a few days. The youngest grandchild's chicken fingers and fries was the only passable meal. Eating lunch at Nancy's has always been an upbeat experience for us, but no longer. Not sure we'd ever go back. read more

Nothing like getting off the ferry and then coming to Nancy's to sit outside and drink. Yeah this has basically become a tradition for me now. Get off the boat, go to Nancy's, go to the uh Tiki-hut type thingy and order some fruity summer cocktail. Every time I've gone they've been playing Bob Marley on repeat. It's kinda funny, island music...except it's the completely wrong island. But who cares? The drinks are pretty stiff and cold and freshly made. The only small problem I had was that you need to spend over $20 to use your credit card...guess I had to buy more then one drink.... read more

Just ordered pick up. I wanted something a little healthier than the other menu selections around. Homemade hummus and pita bread (very good amount and delicious). And a Greek Salad with Falafel. The greens, tomatoes , and vegetables all very fresh. A few more veggies in the salad would have made it even better, if you're reading this review. The Falafel, fresh, and seasoned perfectly. A filling, healthy and delicious dinner. I'm on Island most every year, this was my first visits to Nancy's and I'll most definitely order again. read more

Wow! I am not a person who gives out random 5 star reviews, but when i do i truly believe with every fiber of my being this company is as good as it gets. First off they are on the beautiful island of "Martha's vineyard" just off of Rhode island. Martha's vineyard in general is a great place to visit especially in the summer time. Now this restaurant is nestled within other restaurants but they clearly stand out from the rest. They have a downstairs and an upstairs with outdoor seating on both areas. If you decide to sit outside you will have a gorgeous view of the ocean where the boats are docked. The inside of the restaurant is very clean, organized, and there were a lot of attention placed on the design. While here i had the lobster macaroni, the calamari, and a cocktail. The service speed was above average considering how full the restaurant was and every bit of my two meals was very exquisite. I could not help but devour the lobster macaroni and calamari. The season that was used on the calamari was not of this world! My hat goes out to the chef as this was the best calamari i have ever had. The presentation as well was wonderful and there was plenty left over as the portion was very big. The lobster macaroni was very very fresh. There were huge and i do mean HUGE chunks of lobster meat that would please even the hungriest of eaters. I cannot say anything bad about this restaurant except for the fact you have to take a boat to get there.....Even though thats the case this is completely worth it. read more
