    Ground Beef Empanadas
    Julie N.

...was in the area and craving an Empanada. Nancy's was recommended when I Yelped "Empanadas" Arrived at 11 a.m. and this was the only place in the mini mall that had a line out the door! They cook to order, so there is a minimum 20-25 min wait in addition to the people in front of you. There is ample seating, so people are also eating here so there is a counter to order, if you decide to take your food "to go" The empanadas are fried, not baked as you will notice in the posted photos. I bought 3. Ground Beef, Chicken & Jalapeno/Cheese. The ground beef turned out to be my favorite. Thought it was a good time to also try a Pupusa. Googled it while I was waiting and found out it's made of flour and normally has a filling. I asked the guy which was the most popular and he recommended the pork and cheese. It came with a cabbage slaw and hot sauce, so I looked at some photos and poured it all on. I wouldn't pour it on next time. IT WAS WAY TOO WET and SOGGY. Unfortunately, this was not a favorite of mine. Next time I'll try a bite dry first. Also added 2 orders of Plantains. They came out fresh and hot and were the best Plantains I've ever had! One order was 5 pieces, two orders were $13. ($1.30 each) There are various wait times, apparently due to the amount of people here at any given time. Yelpers complaining about the wait. Maybe they should hire a few more employees.

I came here to try the pupusa they are so good perfect size and the filling taste great. They have more than pupusa even the empanadas are good to. Service was fast and if you eat there the cashier will bring the food to you table. I definitely recommend this place for great food

I've been coming here for over 5 years now and they are The best Pupusas's and empanadas I've had. The empanadas are perfectly crispy and flakey with the right amount of filling inside . Let the picture speak for itself.

    6 empanadas (2 jalapeno, 2 spinach, 1 beef, 1 chicken)

Ordered ahead to take out six empanadas. I was quoted about 15 min, but it ended up closer to 39 instead. The clients inside were all Hispanic and the food (including papayas) looked appetizing. I would consider returning and trying some other menu items, but only if I was in the area. The empanadas were large but simple. Both the Jalapeños and cheese and the spinach and cheese had mostly cheese inside, very salty from the cheese. The spinach was a muted flavor while the jalapeno was strong enough to carry over the cheese. The beef and chicken were both fully protein, and since it was just meat they were both dry and needed an accompanying sauce. The beef flavor reminds me of Worcestershire sauce or Sloppy Joes. The chicken could have been carnitas flavor but slightly dry. They offered mild and medium salsas, both were red with the medium being a deeper red. There was also a 50 cents card charge that was not made clear upfront.

Was on my way to a restaurant down the street and noticed this spot in a small shopping center. The place I was going to shutdown and we were left wondering "what now?". Glad I remembered passing this place cause we doubled back and were NOT disappointed! We're Mexican and huge fans of pupusas. Usually I can eat about 3 or 4 depending on the size. We've never been here so we didn't know what to expect. We decided to start with 2 each. The pupusas came out fresh and piping hot. They were pretty thick and wide too. Two was definitely more than enough for each of us. I ordered 1 revuelta and 1 chicharrón. Neither one missed! But between the two the better one was the revuelta. My son ordered 1 bean and cheese and 1 pollo con queso. I tried the pollo con queso and hands down it was the BEST pupusa I've ever had! I've never heard of that combo at other places I've gone to. You don't even need to add the delicious curtido and spicy red salsa with it cause it has so much flavor on its own. But I love me some curtido and finished a jar on my own. Haha Don't worry they gave us each our own so my kiddo got plenty for himself. As for the service, it appeared like a small crew. The cashier was also our server. But the cook also came out to bring us our order. Which is probably why it was piping hot. It really was off the grill! Both of them were very sweet and polite. I'm surprised this place isn't busier. Either way, I know we'll be coming back soon!

GREAT PUPUSAS!! Had a craving for pupusas so decided to try this place. We loved the pupusas. We had pork, bean and cheese, and rajas and cheese. They were all tasty, the rajas was my favorite. I love the pickled cabbage (curtido) and we ordered the spicy salsa. All together it makes a delicious bite. We went during a busy lunch time and waited a while for our order. This is a small place with not much staff so I understand. I recommend calling your order in advance if you are not eating there.

Pupusas were very delish! We also got a empanada which was also good but I wish they had a plum or chimmi sauce with it... my husband also got platano fritos which he loved but wish they used black beans!!! Prices were a little high but we will go back !! Breakfast looks good

Love their papusas! Made to order, so they same out pipping hot and oozing with delicious cheese. Also tried their empanadas and I loved the crisp, stuffed filling. Cashier/server was super friendly and brought us extra tortilla chips and milder salsa for the kids.

Friendly, casual, tasty. I liked the jalapeño and cheese the best. Chicken/ queso and pork/queso were pretty good. Treated myself on a Fri early evening. I walked to the nearby coffee shop since it takes about 18 mins for fresh order. Saw 3 other customers for takeout, but a handful of tables are available to dine in. Came with plenty of the pickled cabbage and more and 4 sauces ("hot" sauce is not that spicy) for about 15 bucks. Would come back if I am craving pupusas.

Is this place close? Tried going tonight and lights are out with no signs on the door?

They are open. It's a possibility they had a slow day and closed early. I just went there a few days ago.

Even though the food was not what i wanted I decided not to let it go to waste. Food does take a bit to make and then they still have to clean etc, I get it I have a job too. I'm very understanding but what really bothered me was that the lady at the register said " y se las Va a comer rápido y se Va a ir o Que" (well are you going to eat your food fast or what") I mean she could have said it with a little less attitude and more respect. We ended up taking our food to go. I gave this place a second chance but even The food isn't the best (tbh I wouldn't mind the little drive to other place in Orange next time then come here again.) I would say to the lady, ma'm Work on your people skills or maybe you should rethink of a different line of work in my opinion maybe you will be happier at a different type of job that you don't have to deal with people , and it would be great if you learned to speak to others with dignity and respect.

I never had a real authentic pupusas before so this was my first time trying it. Today, I went here with my boyfriend and we both order queso con frijoles (cheese & beans) & pupusas de chicharron con queso (pork rinds & cheese). I love their salsa really good kick and spicy. Queso con frijoles: The pupusas were perfectly golden and filled to the brim with melted cheese and savory refried beans. Each bite was a delightful blend of flavors and textures. The masa was soft and slightly crispy on the outside, while the filling was rich and comforting. Paired with the tangy curtido (pickled cabbage) and a drizzle of salsa roja, they were an explosion of taste that I couldn't get enough of! I would give it a 5/5 best pupusas I have for this one. pupusas de chicharron con queso: pupusas has a lovely golden color. I was a bit surprised to find that they were served with some pork rinds, which I wasn't prepared for. I'm so used to seeing pork rinds in chips not in food. I'm not really used to that ingredient, so it added a layer of flavor that just wasn't to my personal taste. I would give it a 3/5 since I'm not used to pork rinds in pupusas if you like pork rinds cooked in pupusas then this dish is for you! We got it in takeout & took 5 minutes to wait. The service was fast & employee is very nice and friendly. There is plenty of parking. The store is very spacious, clean, and great atmosphere for a Salvadoran restaurant.
