Completely standard Nando's fare. The last time I had it was when I lived in the Middle-East, so I have fond memories of the establishment. I got the half chicken with corn on the cob and their cauliflower as sides. The dark meat was moist and the skin was really good, but the white meat was a bit dry. The sauces were just kind of meh, and their spice leant towards the tangy acidic side rather than the dry heat side. All in all, a completely fine meal, but not sure I would go out of my way to seek it out. I was actually super impressed with Nando's! I'd only had it catered at work so I didn't know what to expect eating in the actual restaurant. I thought it'd be more casual but it was really cool inside, they had a bar and the servers still come to your table even though you order online. We just made the happy hour window, and the happy hour has such amazing prices!! Got a really nice pour of their house wine and I think it was only $5 or $6. This was our first time having peri peri and dining at Nando's. The service was not as good as the food unfortunately. We told the hostess we were dining in, she pointed at the table from across the restaurant instead of walking us. Then we were at the table waiting to order with no words, as she hadn't given us the card with the QR code. We're not from here so we weren't familiar with the protocol. Shoutout to this Nando's for being accommodating to my order! I ordered the chicken breast sandwich and asked if they could put the sandwich on garlic bread. I was charged as an extra side but I'm glad I made that executive decision. It made the sandwich that much better. I also didn't have to wait super long for my order to be ready. The only complaint I had was sanitary related. One of the sauces wasn't coming out and I asked a server for help. He wasn't able to get it out either and took his bare hands and grabbed the top off and poured it in my condiment cup. This isn't the first Nando's I've ever been to, but it is the one I normally frequent when I'm in the office and have a hankering for grilled chicken. I like the boneless butterflied breast - still has the skin on and they grill it right, with the skin crispy but the breast is still juicy. They have an array of sauces to fit every heat profile; I like to mix the garlic with medium heat and then add a little of the hot to make for a nice, flavorful dip with a bit of heat to it. You have the option of ordering via the app or ordering at the register; eat-in or takeout, you have your choice. I usually eat in; they have real plates and flatware and glasses if you're eating in. If you're doing that, you can either order via the app or at the register and they'll bring it to your table. I order the same thing usually - the boneless breast grilled plain, rice and cole slaw. Just the right amount of spice, and the cole slaw does a great job of cooling off that heat. The restaurant itself is nice - bright colors, some info bits about the origins of the cuisine (Afro-Portuguese as they call it) and the food always tastes good and comes out more or less perfectly. The food gets brought to the diner by a staff member. Utensils, condiments, napkins, and drinks are to the left of the register. They also have all the chicken marinade sauces accessible there if one wants to add more or try a different one. Each Nando's also has a sink, soap and paper towels in the main dining area to wash hands conveniently. The chicken is always perfectly cooked and juicy, with a slightly charred skin. They brought our food, utensils, and condiments to our table. I ordered a lemon & herb half chicken with a side of Peri chips and a Caesar side salad. It's the same Nando's goodness I remember from 2015! My friend had two 1/4 chicken leg (also lemon & herb spice) with a side of mixed leaf salad and Peri chips. They have several flavors of lemonade to choose from and it just compliments the kick in their very tasty food. We devoured the Naughty Natas before I can snap a picture :) They pride themselves in using fresh ingredients, 24-hour marination, and flame-grilled perfection of their chicken. I ordered the Quarter Chicken Breast with Corn of the Cob and Roasted Brussel Sprouts. The chicken by far was the star of the show! The chicken breast was cooked perfectly, juicy, tender, and infused with Nando's signature peri-peri flavor. The skin had just the right amount of char, adding a nice smokiness. I also ordered it hot, but I didn't get any burn, but I could overlook that with all the flavor I was tasting. The Corn on the Cob was sweet, buttery (which I had to add), and straight from summer dreams! The corn cob was perfectly roasted, also with just the right amount of char. A touch of lime zest elevated the experience, leaving me craving more. As for the Roasted Brussels Sprouts, Nando's nailed it! The sprouts were caramelized on the outside, yet they were tender within. The sauce which I think was a Peri-Peri ranch, made these little green gems irresistible. Nando's Quarter Chicken Breast with Corn on the Cob and Roasted Brussels Sprouts is a symphony of flavors. While the chicken and corn stole the spotlight, the Brussels sprouts played a solid supporting role. My only issue was that I wished for a tad more spice/heat on the chicken, but that hot sauce they make, more than made up for it. Overall, a great experience and meal! Nando's, I'll be back the next time I'm in town, because this meal deserves a solid 4.5 out of 5 stars.
