We were visiting Maryland and stayed in Rockville. One of the food we missed when we move away was Peruvian chicken, namely the one in Wheaton Mall, but we heard it was no longer there... We did not have car so wanted to find a place that is walkable so here we were. I was not really expecting anything as my brain was still thinking of the chicken from years ago, or the ones we had tried in Peru last year. Overall the place was fine, the chicken was fine, but they do not have the green spicy sauce. We asked for spicy sauce but we were provided with the little orange mayo version. The service was quick, you order, they bring you the food. Nothing more the expect. I could eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Okay, maybe not breakfast, but you get the idea. The yucca and french fries were hot, crispy little bundles of goodness. They were super crave-able! We really enjoyed them. Our one let down, was the plantains. They were tasteless and hard. I was disappointed and probably should have returned them. That is why I took off a star. Service was great. This restaurant has delicious chicken and I've been getting food here for over 20 years but I'm getting tired of rising prices and getting less than what I pay for. Look at my photos. I found that when I order the chicken cut up, I don't get the whole chicken! They cut part of the breast off and they only give you part of it. What are they doing with the rest of my chicken? I paid for a WHOLE CHICKEN! Why am I not getting the entire breast if they cut it up? I felt that this was dishonest and I've attached photos of what I got when they give you a cut up chicken versus what a chicken breast quarter with a wing portion should look like. You come here for the best rotisserie chicken bar none, not for the atmosphere or service, which basic! The pink sauce is out of this world! When this place started, it was a tiny spot with 4 tables inside and 2 outside. Now, they have grown and have multiple locations. I think this is the best Peruvian chicken I've had in the dmv. This is a staple and their chicken itself tops all the others because it's so true to name, crisp and juicy. The hot yellow sauce is to die for which is why I always get a huge tub. I love their coleslaw which is weird bc I don't normally. Just like it's namesake, the chicken is crisp and juicy. I could not eat it fast enough! The spices were aromatic which reminded me my childhood at family bbqs. I used to eat there. I haven't been in a couple of years. Yesterday I got a 1/4 chicken platter that used to be $6.99, they yank up the price to $9.99 plus taxes. I was told that my total was $11.65 with taxes. I did not get a receipt. I trusted the employee. Today I checked my bank account and I noticed that the total for the chicken was $12.12. I called the store and I was told that there is a 3% charge for paying with a card. There are no signs. The food was not that good. This place is located in a Rockville mini shopping center. It's right next to the only Duck Donuts and cigar shop. BAD THING! Next to a cigar shop!! Order Togo, do not eat in there. I think this place is losing customers because of the cigar shop. The only reason I went to this location is because of a Groupon. The food is the same in all the crisp and juicy chains. I normally get a half of chicken white meat with double fries because I love the fries they are nice and crispy. The chicken always has a nice char to it, it's really good. Not as good as I expected unfortunately. We got takeout on a weekday, and ordered online. There's parking in front since it's in a small center with other places, and easy to find.
