I don't usually go to Nando's a lot but if I do, I love to get the chicken bowl! I like how balanced it is and it is pretty filling! Additionally, if you are a saucy person you can get more sauces to add to your food. They have them on the side and you can add as much as you want to onto your bowl. Sauces range from garlic medium to extra hot sauce so there's bound to be a sauce for everyone to enjoy! Service was good too. We sat inside and got our food relatively fast and we were checked up on pretty often. Note: I didn't know Nando's had a happy hour menu but it looks pretty good and I would love to visit again to try it! For the happy hour, it's available from now until mid July.

I recently stopped at Nando Peri Peri (Towson). It's located directly across from the Towson Towne Center in Towson Square. Nando Peri Peri is South African (SA) based cuisine. Upon entering, I was pleasantly surprised with how comfortable and inviting the interior was. It was as if I stepped into someone's really chill/ laid back home. Vibrant colors everywhere, impressive lighting fixtures throughout the space, vaulted ceiling and a very welcoming atmosphere. The staff was friendly and professional. The associate explained what the Elite event entailed and she walked me through all the options available. I truly appreciated that. She even let me taste the sauces b4 making a selection (I opted for Mango Lime). I was also allowed to taste the two juices they offered. SCORE!!! On to the grub-a-dub-dub: 1. Combo & 1 Side: 1/4 Chicken Breast w/ Mango & Lime sauce. The chicken breast was grilled nicely. The meat was moist and full of flavor. A great sized breast for a meal. SCORE!!! 2. I also got an order of PERI Chips (french fries). Crisp on the outside, pillowy inside. Perfect. SCORE!!! 3. To wash everything down, I grabbed a Pineapple Limeade (I mixed the two drinks. EXCELLENT CHOICE!). SCORE!!! There was also a massive condiments area where you could grab pre-packaged utensils, ketchup, napkins and a wide array of sauces you could prepare yourself (w/ the dipping cups provided). The flavored offerings were: a) Lemon & Herb [mild] b) Wild Herb [medium] c) Garlic [medium] d) Straight Medium and e) Straight Hot. I got Sample's of every flavored sauce and left the straight sauces alone (not a massive fan of heat). They were all tasty but BOY-o-BOY, they all STILL had some heat in them. Hooo-wee!!! But man, we're they good!!! SCORE! This was an excellent experience. I will definitely stop thru here again when in Towson.

I was introduced to Nando's in the 90's when I visited London. What I do remember was that I was impressed. I never visited Nando's again. After all these years I came across this location and I wanted to bring up old and tasty memories. A server welcomed me and said I could order at the table or he could help me out. I was seated at the table and was instructed to scan a QR code to order with my phone. I ordered my food a bowl and wings and shortly the items were delivered at my table. It felt like I was ordering out while still at the restaurant. I had already paid for my order after I made my choices on my phone. So after I was done I just left. It felt weird, like a food court at the mall. It didn't have a restaurant feel or experience. The food was okay, the wings were tender and the bowl was filled with fresh ingredients, but flavor wise, it was blend. I know I had the chicken leg back in London, maybe I should've ordered that again. Maybe another time to give it a shot, but then I will do take out and eat it in the comfort of my hotel room. The drink was the best of the whole experience, that was really some good stuff!

My first time visiting and I would return. It's not anything amazing overall, but the chicken is what helped to give it 5 stars. For the price, it left a lot to be desired. Pros. The chicken was super flavourful and juicy Your party can all order and pay individually. The hostess was super friendly Cons The sides had little to no flavor Food came out far in between even though we all ordered within seconds of each other. It was hard to get staff attention

Nice place to get something to eat. I had the extra hot chicken and boy was it delicious. I tried the Peruvian rice for the first time. It had a nice spicy taste to it but, not sure what made the texture gritty. I am very particular about the textures of good sometimes. I think I would not get the rice again. It was very different. But, I say try it because you just may like it. Employees here are very friendly and welcoming.

"Charred sweet potatoes with cinnamon sugar", it's definitely charred. Inedible.

I placed a take-out order using the online ordering system. I was supposed to receive my order at 4:06pm. I didn't receive it until 4:37pm. I tried the charred sweet potato and cinnamon sugar for the first time. It was awful and looked very unappealing. Looked nothing like the pics on their website. I honestly wouldn't even feed it to my dogs. I also ordered the full chicken platter and was supposed to receive 2 large sides but one of my sides was a regular one, not large. The service wasn't good and the food did not make up for it. The girl who was getting the orders ready and putting them on the shelf put my order on the shelf even though I was standing right there waiting for more than 1/2 hour. I have attached pics of the inedible charred sweet potato I received. I submitted a complaint and I will update this review if/when I hear back from management. 11/2/2021 update: I heard back from the GM of the restaurant I visited. He offered a free meal and side or refund, as well as apologized. I have updated my review to 3 stars from the previous 2.

When I say Mango Lime 1/4 Breast Chicken is literally the best I've ever taste. Brussel Sprouts were EVERYTHING. From Detroit, Mi and I will definitely be back.... Customer Service was exceptional and atmosphere was a VIBE! 10 stars with 2 thumbs up!

My friends and I stopped here for a quick lunch for the our friend's graduation and everything was so good. When you come in you can sit wherever and order with the QR code on the table and then everything will be brought out to you. The staff was so nice and and it was a good aesthetic inside. I ordered the chicken breast sandwhich with avocado and the lavender honey lemonade and it was so good.

So we have been going to Nando's for quite some time , mostly in the UK . Every time we come this way we try to pop in . The chicken is always hot and the sides are a good size . It's an easy menu with just enough variety especially if you don't feel like chicken. Tonight we finally got the Brussels sprouts. They are usually not available but they were perfectly cooked and taste good . Glad we finally mage it . It's a good place for hot quick and healthier food.

I am very disappointed! You were my favorite restaurant. For the price you charge, you give a pathetic amount of sides. A spoon of mashed potato really? How unhappy can your worker be to screw up your quality for take outs? You might want to make this right because you charge a good amount for small chicken parts already now you are screwing the sides too? Nandos you are better than this!

I love Nando's! This is one of my favorite places to go for dinner in Towson. There is always great service, everyone is so friendly. My latest visit was for the "Nando's dash" in which we got to choose a free chicken meal- a sandwich, pita, or a quarter chicken. I always go with the chicken pita in general, so that's what I got, and I got fries with peri-peri sauce. My favorite sides include the fries, peas, mashed potatoes, and Brussel sprouts (seasonal). The only thing, expect to be paying around $15-20 if you want sides with your food (it adds up fast!) The desserts are okay at best and a little overpriced. Since you are in Towson, you can find somewhere else for dessert easily.

What a change this place had since the last time I've been here! Wow! This place is fantastic! The service was fantastic, everyone was super friendly and checked on us throughout the meal. You order up front and they give you a table number to sit at and they bring you your food! The food was delicious and well seasoned and reasonably priced and proportioned. The overall feel of the restaurant is welcoming and clean! All of the tables and seats were clean, there was lots of room to sit.

The awning outside needs refurbishment and inside furniture is not updated. It's dark inside, almost like a night club. Perhaps it is sometimes. I did not like the decor, it was a little run down and honestly did not match up to the prices. The service was also disappointing. I felt that staff lacked a bit of professionalism and they rarely checked on us. The plates are huge. That is a plus. My partner ordered the goat and I tried the red snapper. I think one plate is big enough to share. I like the spinach, but everything needed a bit of salt. While the red snapper was coated in a lovely tomato and red pepper gravy, I felt it made the crispyness of the fried fish disappear and it was kind of soggy. Maybe you can ask for the gravy on the side. The food is not bad, but given the physical establishment and the service I wouldn't return.

Our waiter was so charismatic, helpful, and kind. He even turned up the music in our corner of the restaurant upon request! The food was generally good, just a bit on the drier end. Even the stew wasn't really soupy. So if you were trying to mix some rice with some stew, you basically got cake on your plate. Regardless, everything was seasoned to absolute perfection. Also, don't know if this matters but it may matter to some- though this is an East African Restaurant, the menu is slightly more Kenyan than Ugandan. Something to keep in your expectations when visiting!

The food was excellent and tasty, but I think we both agreed it did not "blow our minds" like some other similar caliber restaurants do. The flavors were wonderful. Food may arrive to the table out of order, so allow some patience and consider ordering all items upfront. Located within "The Potomac" formerly known as The Salamander, Dōgon is one of three fine dining restaurants curated by Chef Kwame Onwuachi. Our visit coincided with restaurant week and had a pre-fixe menu for $65/pp. Our server was gracious enough to tell us about the other specials available but I decided that I would be fine with the restaurant week menu. For my starter, I enjoyed the oxtail patties and a mango basil smash. The entree was shrimp creole with focaccia bread that I graciously used for sopping up the delicious sauce that hugged the shrimp. Rounding out the meal, I chose the rum cake. None of my items disappointed. I found each to be an appropriate serving and shareable. The coco bread was complimentary and the flecks of salt were satisfying. I enjoyed a second cocktail and chose the Sorel Rickey. It was a hibiscus flavored, rum enhanced, and kissed by lime kinda drink. The manager made her rounds and was very personable. The other guests were watching the dishes being presented to the various tables and you could tell that it made one, a bit eager for their own food or a return visit. Our server was top notch and we enjoyed talking with him and his energy. This restaurant supports solo dining, group events, and date night dining. The bathrooms were well maintained and there is an open kitchen concept where you can see what's going on if you're seated nearby. An overall positive dining experience. I would recommend & dine here again. Check out Chef's other ventures, Maroon (Las Vegas), and Tatiana (New York).

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted and his birthday was acknowledged at the hostess stand, which was a nice first impression. The atmosphere is easily one of the highlights of Dogon. The moody lighting, modern decor, and especially the playlist create such a fun, intimate vibe. The music was jamming the entire time and honestly played a huge role in making the experience enjoyable. We ordered quite a few dishes, and there were definitely some standouts. The crab hoe cakes were delicious and probably one of my favorite things we ordered. The Wagyu ribeye was another standout, incredibly tender and seasoned beautifully. I initially came in wanting to try the Ma Dukes shrimp, but they had recently revamped the menu and replaced it with a Creole shrimp dish. Unfortunately, this was probably my least favorite item of the night. There was a very odd, pungent flavor that I couldn't get past, and the dish was overwhelmingly spicy to me. The oxtail patties were good but nothing that really stood out. The rum cake was delicious, although personally, I would have loved a little more rum flavor. The drinks, however, were all very good and definitely worth trying. The service was just okay. While we were greeted at the hostess stand, there wasn't really any acknowledgment afterward that we were celebrating a birthday, even though the occasion was included on our reservation. I wasn't necessarily expecting anything extravagant, but a simple "Happy Birthday" or candle with our dessert would have made the experience feel a bit more special. Ultimately, I'm 50/50 on whether I'd return. The music and atmosphere are a huge draw, and there were definitely some really good dishes. However, considering the price point and some of the portion sizes, I'm not completely convinced the overall experience matches the cost. I'd definitely recommend Dogon for the vibe, drinks, and a few standout dishes, but whether it's worth the price is where I'm still undecided.

There are some gorgeous pieces of beaded jewelry, artwork, clothing, and more in this store. This is an authentic African collection store so you can find just about anything that you'd like that will relate to your African roots. Mr. Kwame was really pleasant, friendly, he engaged his customers, and he just innately knew what we liked or what he thought would be pretty on us. Blue is my favorite color and he picked out this wonderful dress and I fell in love with it instantly. It fits well, has pockets, and a belt to match. My daughter came into the store and before she could begin to browse, he took one look at her, pulled the mannequin inside, and removed the dress from it. He gave it to her with a humble, rather gorgeous smile, and said, "This was made just for you." She turned to see that it was the dress from the mannequin and once again the words, "I love it!," were squeaked into the air. She went to the fitting room to try it on and it fit very well. So we bought it! She wore the dress right out of the store. I changed into mine later and pinned my hair up with the beaded hair pin. Mrs. Sandy got the orange and yellow dress with a bracelet. She absolutely loved that too. You cannot go wrong in this store. I really thought that he was not going to have anything to fit me because I have such large bosoms, however he did. It surprised me. I highly recommend this establishment. Tell Mr. Kwame that the "Shawn, Lady in Blue" sent you. LoL! 5 Stars.

It's a little sweet, a little tangy, and super flavorful overall. The hummus was also delicious, with a sorta woodsy, smoky depth of flavor. The oyster mushrooms, though, were an absolute standout. SO much umami, really well seasoned, and perfectly cooked -- they genuinely tasted like steak. Amazing, amazing dish. The vegetables were also really well done overall. The fire-roasted asparagus was great, and the sweet potato was perfect. The cauliflower was also amazing, although we ordered so much food that we weren't able to finish everything and had to take some home. If you're choosing vegetables, do the sweet potato and the mushrooms, hands down. The carrot havuc was yummy as well, more mild and yogurt-y, and the pickled veggies were really interesting. I had never had a pickled tomato before! The pomegranate mocktail was also delicious. Gingery, well balanced, and very refreshing. HIGHLY recommend. There were a couple dishes that fell a little short for me. The halloumi comes out VERY hot, so be careful lol, but it was veryyy sesame-forward and ultimately wasn't my favorite. It was good, just not something I'd necessarily reorder. The saffron couscous was also not a huge hit around the table. It wasn't bad, just a little too sweet with the raisins and not 100% there for me. My mom liked it more than I did! Overall, you can tell everyone at Maydan believes in the food and really cares about the experience. I'd heard great things about The Continent, so it felt like a must-try especially since Swahili Village is one of our go-to favorites for comparison. The space itself was great, nice interior, well-decorated, and service was solid throughout. They also had two distinct vibes going: one side had a bit of a DJ/lounge energy, while the other was more elegant and laid-back, better for actual dinner conversation. We sat on the calmer side. Drinks were good. We had a sangria and a tequila-based cocktail, both solid. For appetizers, we got the shrimp and the beef samosas. Unfortunately, the beef samosas just didn't hold up compared to Swahili Village's. I've had Swahili Village's beef samosas multiple times and they always come out hot, crispy, and consistent. These didn't quite match up, and that was strike one for me. The shrimp appetizer was nice, good sauce, though it could've used a bit more depth of flavor. I also ordered the pepper soup, which was excellent and genuinely spicy (more than I could really handle, but I still finished it). For entrées, my boyfriend got the Suya with jollof rice, and I got the red snapper with jollof rice as well. He really enjoyed his. The beef was cooked well and flavorful, and the jollof rice was good. My fish was also cooked nicely, though the sauce needed a bit more flavor. The bigger issue: they were out of plantains. That was strike two, and it stung more because it was my boyfriend's birthday dinner and plantains are his favorite. It's rare for an African or Caribbean restaurant to run out of them entirely. Overall, a decent experience, but with the high expectations going in, a couple of misses kept it from fully living up to the hype for us. I'd go back for the pepper soup and give it another shot, but I'm hoping for hotter, fresher samosas and actual plantains next time.

Unfortunately, this location didn't hold up. The ordering process was a mess from the start. They were out of boneless chicken, so we pivoted to a half chicken... only to be told they were out of that too. Then it turned out they did have it. We ordered the hummus appetizer and got the side portion instead, which meant another trip to the counter to sort it out. We ordered medium peri peri sauce and got something noticeably spicier. Too tired and hungry to send it back, we just ate it... and the meal just didn't hit the way Nando's usually does. The mushy peas we'd been looking forward to aren't even on the menu anymore, which was its own small disappointment. On the bright side, I ordered a 5 oz glass of wine and got what looked like a double pour. Not complaining... but it does sum up the vibe. The staff seemed indifferent, whether it was end-of-night fatigue or just an off-night, hard to say. We'll probably give Nando's another shot elsewhere, but this DC visit was disappointing enough that I can't really recommend this location.
