Cozy restaurant.They have really good Indian food.But their Thai food is not authentic.overall good for Indian food,but not for Thai food.

I work about 5 minutes away and my co-workers and i are always looking for different types of food to try (we always eat the same: Chinese takeout/pizza/deli) . This is definitely IT! Loved the decor, the service, and the PRICE. The lunch menu's are great...lots of food and didn't keep us waiting long. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice place to eat...not to mention, i had enough to take home and eat for dinner!!!! Food was delicious. I ordered the hot and sour soup and the chicken tikka masala and was very pleased with it. The service is pretty slow and not particularly attentive. The restaurant was almost empty when we went yet we had to ask for the bill three times before it actually arrived. The restaurant itself is clean and nicely decorated. If I could, I would give it 2.5 stars but it was more bad than good, so I'm rounding my rating down to a 2. Used the Yelp deal for my first time here. I don't think the food is spectacular but it's good enough to come back. I've had much better Indian-Chinese food but this one is a good if you're in the area and want that flavor. It's a team effort type of place, where one person will take your order, another person gets you water, another for refills, another will pack your food to go etc.. Therefore the service is just ehhhhhh.. They weren't rude but they were not helpful, attentive or welcoming. I didn't get refills of water or asked how I was doing but I wasn't bothered by their reaction when I did ask for something. Therefore service is just OK. The restaurant is small, so if you're coming with a group more than 4, call and reserve. I saw them turn down 3 groups because of lack of space. Food: Decent. My favorite thing was the Samosa. You can get two for $4, which was pretty good. The filling is more than generous and I like that they give you sauce with it. I also ordered a garlic and an onion naan, it was bomb! Super buttery and well made. However I got the curry spicy fried rice and it was nasty... Barely touched that dish! It was dry, uncooked rice and the flavor was weird. It tasted like just straight up turmeric powder on boiled rice. I don't recommend that. Also I got the Manchurian chicken, it was ok, the spiciness was what I wanted. Also got the chicken tikka masala and it was edible but not enjoyable. One thing to know.. *Nanking skimps on the meat! For 12.99 each, I got maybe four large pieces of diced chicken breast in both my Manchurian chicken and tikka masala. Overall, check it out if you're nearby I guess... But don't have too high of expectations for the food or service. Get the Yelp deal if you go, because at least you can feel less guilty when you're not thrilled about it, like I was. read more

For being in South Ozone Park, I am quite impressed. The food was delicious, I had ordered their Lobster from the "Chinese and Thai" seafood menu and ended up cleaning up the plate. Thee Ambiance is very good and the service as well. I will be coming back very soon. read more

I've been here so many times that I forget to check in . I'm usually here every weekend and sometimes during the weekdays . The food is really amazing the waitresses are very friendly and are very helpful with asking questions about the menu , my favorite waitress would have to be Rahul and Ganesh he always gets my order right and knows exactly what I want . They always check to see if my order is right and they constantly keep checking in to see how I'm doing with my food .both Rahul and Ganesh are professionals and well mannered . When there my server I make sure to tip well .. I've been coming here for the past 3 and half years I just wish they would give there royal customers a discount because the food is pretty pricy when your not ordering from the lunch special . If I'm not eating in I'm ordering and having it delivered . And one thing I've always noticed particularly at this Nanking is that there always neat and tidy so far I've always found this place to be clean also the manger of this Nanking is very friendly as well !! We came here for my birthday. We have read some reviews on the restaurant. So we decided to give it a try. Everything was great. The food, the service, the drinks. My wife ordered the van wyck prickly pear she loved it. I had a beer then a Gingerli martini. I enjoyed it. From the appetizers to entrée was good. My favorite was the singapore noodles. Came in on a Friday and it was crowded. I waited for a while and the seated me at the front table where they put the take out food. That was fine except that they told me they would give half off my meal- which they didn't, and the waitress kept slamming down menus on the table with no regard to my comfort while patronizing. I live in the neighborhood and was willing to give them a pass. Until the next day when i went to eat my leftover chicken vindaloo and bit into a huge bug that resembles a roach. A great mix of everything. I was really impressed by the quality of the vegetables and protein in the chili fried chicken and was in love with the texture of the rice. Their shrimp dumplings are juicy yet sturdy and have a great filling yet light texture while chewing. I got 25% off on living social and it was a far trek to south ozone park.. I went by bus and train one sunday eve. Ordered lamb and chicken tika marsala dish. I asked for mild. Could not finish as portions were large and took it home. After I reheated at home the spices were deeper and hotter. The place was too dark.. I don't like that as I left my glasses and mp3 at one other dark place. but the owner returned my stuff. The food was still too spicy and did not agree with my tummy too well. I am cutting back on indian palate but they also serve thai and chinese style food.Have two more vouchers and will go back. read more

Pathetic food, we ordered chilly garlic chicken noodle and crispy honey chilly chicken last Saturday and the quality of food was so bad that we end up throwing it, crispy honey chilly chicken was hard like rubber and noodles were all mashed up and mixed with lots of vegetable and very less chicken, that day was our first and last time to order our food from "Nanking". So if you're patient, this is your place. The fusion food isn't so top notch, but the butter chicken and garlic naan are good. Hot and sour soup is overly sour, and sweet corn soup is overly sweet. I've never actually been to this location...probably never will as long as Grub Hub is alive, but I can't say anything bad about the food I've ordered. I had the shrimp byrani and that will be one of my go to orders. I can't say that this is authentic shrimp byrani since I've never had it before so please feel free to know that I know nothing about shrimp byrani, but I know this was good. I was a little hesitant to order this dish because when you order shrimp it can go either way. It can be one or two jumbo shrimp or just tiny shrimp that when you chew on it you think huh I doubt that was worth the money. Yet, this place surprised me with a sufficient rice to shrimp ratio. I love nanking I go here on a regular basis for the lunch special. I recommend the Indian menu because it's better the the Chineese. Hit & soup soup & the sweet corn soup are delicious. I haven't had anything from here I didn't like yet but I have had food that was so hot that I had to pace my self such as the tandoori chicken or the lamb with crushed peppers the meals were still good haut extremely hot. the best meal they have is the tandoori lamb chops they are delicious. they are soft and tender they fall right off the bone and have a nice level of spice to them. it cost $20 & you only get lamb with a lil salad on the side but it's well worth it read more

This review is a bit delayed. I was here about a week ago and I used a groupon which I paid $30 for; it was for $59 worth of food I believe. My mom and aunt were a little displeased with the service because we were the only patrons in the restaurant yet didn't feel very welcome. Personally, I didn't mind much. The server wasn't extremely friendly and didn't smile at all but he wasn't rude or nasty so I was fine. We shared samosa chaat, lamb vindaloo, chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, and Thai fried rice. I had the sweet corn soup because of yelp reviews. It wasn't what I expected because it was actually egg drop soup with sweet/creamed corn. I still liked it anyhow. The lamb vindaloo was too spicy for my mom but I liked it. My mom and aunt both loved the chicken tikka masala. I enjoyed all of the food and since we aren't huge eaters, we had a fair amount left to take home. I had Thai iced tea which I wouldn't recommend because the flavor was way too weak for me. I love Thai iced tea and I have it often enough to know their's doesn't cut it but that's no big deal. Just skip it cause it won't satisfy the craving for good iced tea. After the groupon was applied, we had to pay an additional $30 and some cents so in total, everything I mentioned plus a sprite cost about $61 including tax on the full price and 18% tip. Well I must say that I ordered from Nanking on thanksgiving and they delivered my food so fast, I was very thankful. This was my first time ordering from them. They were very helpful with suggesting dishes for me to try because I wanted to try something out the box. I decided on the chicken tikka marsala with roti skin and fried chicken tossed in chill and honey. The honey chicken was hard but the sauce was good. I ate the sauce with my white rice Lol. The chicken Marsala was great I got it medium spicy but it wasn't at all spicy. It was still sooooo good with the roti. If you like your food spicy just say extra spicy. Trust me, it's not at all over bearing. I want to try the garlic nan next and maybe something from the Thai menu. They bring your food hot and ready to eat. Love Nanking! read more
