I really wanted to like this place but when it comes down to the food quality; it just didn't live up to the 4 star and it's just marginally better than a Denny or Ihop. They charged a premium for breakfast so one was hoping to expect more in quality but sadly it did not deliver. Ordered just the standard Country breakfast. Eggs were decently cooked (asked for over-easy and more or less got it at that level). Hash browns were lacking the crispness that I'm accustomed to. Only a small thin layer was actually grilled to crispiness and the rest just felt like sliced mashed potatoes. Sausages were cooked well but wasn't anything special. Most likely bought from the grocery store. ; my guess is Johnsonville sausages Ordered one pancake which was decent probably the most desirable in my breakfast but that's not really saying much. My other friend ordered their salmon egg benedict but that was a huge fail; She is quite the Egg Benedict expert and everything about it was just wrong. Hollandaise sauce was so bland and not so good; english muffin was soggy. Salmon was overcooked and there were bones in it and she almost choked from it.... Overall experience was not too great and probably will not return. As other people mentioned, this place is run by Mainland Chinese people and probably should have questioned how they could run an American diner. My second time here and it is now that I realize this is my top spot for brunch! Ohmygosh people should seriously come here more often. Oh wait, that means I'd have to wait longer in line and inflation may occur... shoot. Anyways... haha it's pretty strange seeing an Asian own a brunch place.... but what am I to say.. Service - the most excellent service. The servers always have a smile on their faces and are not afraid to crack a joke when approrpiate. The "boss lady" always looks so happy and noted to be talking to customers. I sort of had a difficult time choosing what I wanted to eat, but when asked, the servers gladly offered their advice :) Food - ohmygosh, everything tastes good here. You should just close your eyes and point randomy at the menu and order that one haha - California Omelette - I think Nano Cafe has probably one of the heartiest omelettes I have had since college dorm food. They're not afraid to stuff it. I think that the California was excellent.. good fresh ingredients, nice sauce on the top. I chose the home fries (thinly sliced potatoes) over the hash browns and I think it was a good choices; home fries gives you a different texture from the omelettes. - Cinnamon French Toast - I always crave sweet stuff but I only take a couple of bites when it's in front of me... anyways, the french toast was really good. The restaurant reminded me of Mel's Diner from the old tv show "Alice" because of it's old school traditional dining room complete with a counter to order and eat at, and the handwritten "Specials" menu on the wall. Visited this restaurant back in March with six co-workers and enjoyed a great, relaxing and fun breakfast. The parking was plentiful both in the lot and on the street. My family love this place, so we came here today (Easter Sunday) for our lunch. We have not been here for a long time cause we live kinda far away, but I think it was a great decision to come here today. The service was awesome as always and the food was good too! This place can give IHOP a run for its money. It's perfect for breakfast on a Sunday morning. It gets pretty crowded and noisy inside, so if you can manage it, get a seat outside on the patio. It's great, provided you don't mind all the cars driving by. I saw a boatload of delicious-sounding things on the menu, such as BBQ Chicken Salad, French Dip Sandwich, Truffle Parmesan Garlic Fries, Vegetarian Dishes, House Specialties like the Monte Cristo, Chicken & Waffles, and don't get me started on the desserts. I, however, am a sweets lover, and had heard about these famous Cinnamon Bun French Toast which I'd been craving for a while. They did not disappoint. I swear, I may never see IHOP with the same respect ever again. And they're coffee is the perfect pairing to go with such an indulgent breakfast. The food always takes a while but it's never come out cold or undercooked. My sisters and I were in the area, and decided to have a late Sunday brunch (around 2pm). Although it was packed, they were able to accommodate our party fairly quickly. Maybe a little too quickly since our table didn't have a lot of surface area (with our drinks and the standard condiments it got cramped). I was impressed with the menu's variety. In addition to their breakfast, lunch, and dinner specials (like prime rib machaca, and fish and chips), the menu features pasta dishes, omelettes, hot/cold sandwiches, croissant sandwiches, speciality scrambles, etc. I would say there were over 100 items. Everything sounded delicious, making it somewhat difficult to choose. I finally settled on their cinnamon roll French toast combo (2 eggs and bacon), with a side of hash browns. One of my sister's had eggs Florentine (eggs Benedict but with spinach and turkey instead of ham), while the other had the country scramble (eggs scrambled with ham, green bell peppers, onions, sausage, and bacon over a bed of home fries, with gravy (on the side). The cinnamon roll french toast is a speciality, and it shows! Dipping each bite in a little syrup put it over the top, but in a good way hehe. I would recommend getting this alone; its worth the trip. :) The bacon was a little cold, but rendered well. The eggs, were just eggs. As a potato lover the hash browns didn't disappoint! They were crispy, buttery, and hot; and went well with their homemade salsa! Eggs Florentine: the spinach wasn't seasoned; the turkey was just bland but hot, and a strange seasoning was sprinkled over the hollandaise (mrs. Dash?...lemon pepper?). Overall my sister said it was "just ok." Country scramble: everything was fine, but the gravy was "really disappointing." It was watery and bland; making it a little hard to enjoy the dish in it's entirety. Unless you're into watery gravy, I suggest Nick's cafe. Their gravy has bits of sausage in it too. Nice diner-styled cafe with traditional American brunch. Food: My family ordered a Blueberry Pancake Combo, a Corned Beef combo, and a 1/2 Fried Chicken & Waffle (However, I only tried the chicken & waffle, and corned beef combo). I'm not very fond of corned beef in general but the one they offer here was enjoyable for me (not too salty). The bacon is slightly crispy and not soggy. The hash browns aren't anything special but they aren't bad either. I ordered scrambled eggs while my family ordered over medium with the combo (your choice) and they were both cooked to order. The fried chicken is good considering the breast is not dry at all and holds a decent amount of flavor. Gravy comes on the side and it's slightly salted and fairly light. The waffles are very good and a little fluffy if that makes sense. You are supposed to receive a piece of toast (bread of your choice) but they forgot it. The portion sizes are huge so we didn't bother to ask for the toast. In my opinion, this was a very heavy breakfast or a very filling lunch as 3 plates was more than enough for 3 people. Service: We arrived around 1 and were seated as soon as we walked in the door. The food came out after about 10 minutes. Our server was very nice and the food was cooked to order. Parking: Easy parking since there are about 20 parking spots and about 4 spots open both when I arrived and left. Atmosphere: The cafe looks like a diner straight out of a movie with 80s music playing in the background. Lots of people were in the restaurant but it did not seem crowded at all. Indoor / Covered Outdoor seating. Price: $42 including tax for the entire meal which is reasonable if you're considering this lunch. Altogether, I would recommend Nano Cafe if you want a hearty and filling breakfast. The food is good but not special. This was a little too heavy for my taste but I'm probably just not used to it. Came on Thanksgiving. This is a happening place. It looks like a popular place among the locals. The help is friendly and treat you as family. For a small cafe they have a patio and serve lattes. We had he smoked salmon Benedict along with a cinnamon roll and fresh fruit. That was more than enough to keep is full until our thanksgiving dinner. The cinnamon roll was still soft and had a nice cinnamon taste. The smoked salmon Benedict was good but would have preferred the lox style salmon. Hoped a ZERO was available, it wasn't so a 1 has to suffice. Went here with family who frequents this place and the Sierra Madre location. It is far from my home, but I ventured on. We ordered after quite a wait, at a 85% empty restaurant on a Saturday afternoon. We received our food which looked good! I checked mine out and part had the protein portion and half didn't. I asked the waitress to have the cook take a look and make the adjustments needed. She came back and said her manager said for me to do it, she wasn't adding anything to it! I talked with the waitress about customer service, and the idea of going to restaurants to eat. I came for the experience which was horrible! The Asian woman who owned the place said "No"doesn't matter! I returned the food for my money back. My family ate -I didn't. The waitress also a kind Asian woman apologized. I'll never return and my family who lives across the street won't either. This was an EZ fix! She just didn't care; at the end of the day! Sad the days we're living in. Don't order via their website on weekends. They literally ignore the order and focus on their customers dining in or phone orders. I placed an order online arrived after 15 mins, eta 10 mins but I know they're usually running late, so I checked in and waited. 20+ mins later they inform me they haven't even started my order because they're so busy. I asked for a refund was told I had to do it online. When I checked online it tells me I have to call to make changes to my order. I go back inside inform them if this and they tell me they already refunded me. I wanted proof so they pull out their phone with the app and refunded me right there and then which was great but no need to lie and say it was done earlier when it wasn't. First off I was very excited to eat here as I was on a brunch date with my wife and this place looked delicious along with its reviews. However I was gravely mistaken. The first problem was my pancakes were rubbery tasting and the pasta salad was very over cooked and lacking in sauce. Vegetables were dry and hard as well as my eggs were much tooo oily. We've been coming here for years and like the ambiance, the food, and the service. We've ordered a variety of dishes and all have been really good! The parking can be a little tight, but the experience is worth it. They have a nice area for outdoor dining which is great and it's protected by screens so no fly issues like some places where you're constantly swatting away those little buggers. It can get really busy on weekends during breakfast but we didn't have to wait to long for a table of 7. The staff is very friendly and attentive she checked in us frequently and made sure everything was filled or made sure the food was good. I usually get the chicken fried steak and eggs Benedict. The hollandaise sauce is the star of the Benedict. It had the perfect balance of flavor. I've tried making eggs Benedict before and the hollandaise I made was not that good. So i know how hard it is to get right. The chicken fried steak was nice and juicy and the gravy had the perfect flavor.
