Totally not impressed. My first and last visit I believe. Slow service, wings were however awesome! My Glass remained empty for a bit before being recognized and refilled. Roast beef Po-Boy came out extremely fatty after being told it was lean, couldn't eat it, was removed from my bill without asking. Fries that were to come out with sandwich were delivered 20 minutes after the sandwich and were cold. Disappointed with quality as the menu appears to be tasteful. This is not the place to go for dining and should be reserved strictly for drinks and happy hour. The service was adequate as we were the only people dining despite the large crowd at the bar. The food was very sub-par at best. The fried pickles were just okay. The Cajun shrimp po boy had absolutely no Cajun flavor to it at all. I thought I'd munch on the French fries to fill up but the ketchup was so watered down that even they weren't good. I would not go back there for anything more than drinks. read more

We came to Nonola SOLELY FOR THE DUELING PIANOS. Dueling pianos are very popular where I'm from and we've been looking for a piano bar since we moved to this area. The dueling piano performers were phenomenal. Unfortunately, the crowd was not participatory (I'm not surprised - it's sheltered, uncultured upstate NY). Wow! What a disaster! The restaurant should not be open like this- shame on owner/manager. Severely understaffed. Missing food items. Every table around us had serious issues. After an hour of wait, one item was brought in and we were finally informed that they do not have the other item in stock (for the second person).... So one person finished eating when the other one got the food (nasty quesadilla that was chosen because it was "fast to make"). The desserts were ordered with main dishes and yet two hours later it was still not done.. so we could no longer take it and left. Best part - a bartender that relied on her memory and clearly couldn't remember not only food items ordered but even that there are tables she is serving. When she "verified" our deserts items for the fourth time, we were just laughing out loud. Most unpleasant experience that nobody should be paying for!!! Oh, as an act of good deed after expressing our concerns we had.... Corona being taking of the bill. Lol. Hope manager reads these and makes a grown up decision to not take advantage of patrons and close on days like these. Won't be back. read more

Server was mostly earnest but clueless about anything on the menu, and although it said it was $1 oyster Wednesday, apparently that's not the case.... odd..food was OK. My boyfriend and I first visited Nanola in March. We both ordered the steak po boy and an order of the Nanola bone in wings. I loved the steak. It was cooked exactly as ordered (medium rare) and was cut in thick slices. The wings were ok. I am a huge wing fan and order some at almost every restaurant I visit. They were dry but the flavor was really good. The blue cheese dip was horrible. It tasted like a mix of blue cheese dressing and mayo. Will not order that again. Our second visit was with a friend for Bingo night! Bingo was a ton of fun and kept us laughing. I ordered the Jambalaya and it was very tasty. However, I do wish there was more meat!! My boyfriend ordered a blackened chicken sandwich and out came a catfish po-boy. We were having so much fun with the Bingo, he didn't notice the mistake until he went to eat it. Since the catfish tasted ok, he didn't complain and ate was was brought to him. Overall it was a very fun night. Even though we had some issues, I am giving Nanola 4 stars. 3 stars for what they did right (steak, flavors and Bingo) and an extra 1 star for the potential I see in this place. Not sure why this place has so many bad reviews! I've been here a bunch of times. Just for drinks and for food. They have probably the best beer selection south of the saratoga city tavern and the food is very good. I've gotten the shrimp po boys there which are excellent. Cooked perfectly and taste delicious. Also the Cajun pasta is very good if you're looking to be filled up. Sometimes the pasta can be a little over done but oh well. The atmosphere at this place makes up for any short comings in the food, which there are few. Watch out though. If you don't like heat stay away from the spicy stuff. Can be very hot. Overall I keep coming back here. Service stays good and the food is consistent, which I value very much. Give this place a try. It's a very unique restaurant for this area and worth a try! read more

Best advice I can give is skip the food. Yes, all of it. Wings, nachos, fries ... things that are difficult to screw up, will be screwed up. I gave this place some slack when they first opened and the food was terrible, because it's tough to get a kitchen up and running smoothly, but a few years later and things have not improved much. However, the space is pretty big, there is lots of parking, a good deck for summer and lots of good beers on tap. If you work in the area, this is a good place for a happy hour, given the relatively low level of competiton in Malta ... but I would suggest getting a beer or two and leaving without a food order. You'll be happier ... and richer. read more

Awesome food and service. Went for the $10 dollar steak night and music. Got there a little early and called it an early night but the vibe is on point and there's a descent beer selection too. This place is terrible. The food is mediocre at best and the service is so slow. We were here on a very quiet Tuesday and the waitress pretty much ignored us for a table of guys who came in after us. We arrived at 4:45 and left about 6:15. The chicken jambalaya tasted of chili powder and tomatoes only. The nachos were super dry and needed a good juicy salsa or something to help it out. The good here is unique and delicious. there aren't many Cajun type restaurants around here so this is the spot to go. The Gators bites are amazing, good selection of beer and service was great. There were some strange people out on the front lawn drinking beers out of there truck and throwing horse shoes while I was trying to enjoy my meal in the patio but that is the only thing keeping me from giving this a 5 star review. read more

The food was good, service was quick and the beer selection was great. No issues surprisingly since it was to be a busy night with a band playing. Went here last night for trivia. Enjoyed the trivia on Tuesday nights, but the service and food are so incredibly "blah." Nothing special and any drive for me to return back to this restaurant. The service was insanely slow for an empty restaurant and the server brought me an incorrect drink. My shrimp Caesar salad was brought to my table after waiting for 45 minutes. The large white bowl had some great promise. Along comes an huge bowl of plan lettuce, 3 grape tomatoes, 4 very rubbery pieces of grilled shrimp and a take out container of Caesar dressing. I left the restaurant needing actual dinner. The very lethargic waiting-for-food mindset and incorrect drink orders were a big turn off. Will not be returning read more

Have visited several times over a few months and have always enjoyed the ever changing beer selection as well as the food and want to mention that the staff all seem happy which really makes it all the better. Decided to look at some reviews to see if others agree with my perspective and am kind if shocked by a few reviews that were negative. I suppose anything is possible but luckily my visits were all successful. Have had most menu items but there are still a few more on my 'to do' list. Food was not great. Had mac and cheese. Last week it was really good, this week, I couldn't eat it. Service ok. Not very attentive. LOUD in bar, had to move to outside to eat. It got cold out there, but at least quiet. Then a big group of people came out to smoke and swear right near where we were eating. NOT HAPPY. While the food is well prepared and attractively presented, one had better bring a snack in order to avoid death by malnutrition while awaiting its emergence from the kitchen. I've eaten there twice now, and the kitchen has been quite slow each time. The second time was ridiculous. Twenty minutes after we had placed our orders, we were told that things would be delayed because of a computer malfunction. The waiter had not yet been able to submit the order to the kitchen! Excuse me? The kitchen is 30 feet from where we were seated! Couldn't he just walk in there and hand it to them? Our experience was terrible the moment we walked in. We had an unfriendly and impatient hostess, the bar could not keep up with drinks, and the service was friendly but terrible. The food was described incorrectly to us and was wrong when it was dropped at the table. They also did not comp the incorrect plates. I wouldn't eat here again unless it was a fried appetizer. My tacos were very sub par(how do you mess up tacos?!). When we finished the meal our dirty plates sat on the table a very long time even though many different servers (and unfriendly hostess) walked by multiple times. The atmosphere was very cool, but the restaurant is not set up for the wait staff to be successful. Go for the live music and order a beer, may be you'll get it before set break! read more

I went to Nanolas for Brunch this past Sunday. A friend of mine told me to go since she had gone the previous Sunday and she had loved it. I went with 2 friends we sat a distance back from the stage so we could talk even though the music was not loud. They have live music on Sundays which is real nice addition to brunch. I found out they have music other times as well. They have a nice set up with the stage. I ordered the eggs benedict and my 2 friends ordered the seafood crepes. My benedict was wonderful the hollandaise was light and creamy. I had a bite of the seafood crepes and they were equally as good. We all had mimosas. Our waiter was polite and attentive. The price is right the food is great the music was a sweet additive. It is a real nice place to go not one complaint out of me! Lov the Cajun Theme! read more

This review is for the food, not the ambiance...it's more bar than actual restaurant. As a lover of really spicy and flavorful food I was knocked out by the New Orleans Pasta dish with blackened chicken and shrimp in a sinfully garlicky scampi sauce! One of the most unique and enjoyable meals I've had in the 20+ years since I moved to this area from New York City. I can't understand all the negative reviews. While visiting my parents in Clifton Park, we decided to try Nanola last Friday, 3/14. The place was full, but we were seated quickly. The ambiance was nice - cool decorations on the walls and ceiling and there was a piano player named Rob Aronstein playing who was awesome. I'm a sucker for that type of music. Our waitress Jess was very nice and attentive. They have a great selection of craft brews I think there was over 30 beers on tap! After a couple Dogfish Head IPA's we decided to order dinner. We started with Gator Bites and Wings as apps, they were both yummy. They also had the type of bleu cheese I like, which I find to be hit or miss in most restaurants. I had the muffuletta sandwich which was HUGE! It was tasty and I knew what I was having for lunch the next day! My Dad, the burger connoisseur, had a Kobe burger which he said was cooked exactly the way he liked it. My Mom had the Jambalaya which she said was "filled with goodies". She's not a "hot-head" like me, but she handled the heat pretty well. I tasted it and it had some kick! We finished our meals, had another drink and left before the main band came on. I really liked Nanola. They had flyers in the bathroom and on the tables advertising different musical acts. It looks like they have a different show every night! I'll definitely be back to Nanola when I'm in town!...probably this summer during track season in Saratoga Springs. read more

I really don't get people's complaints here, we come here about every other week, the food is always great, the brunch is phenomenal. They have a great beer selection and the best live music in the area. The Nanola wings are really good! We would be there 2-3 times a week if they were just a bit closer to downtown saratoga. People are going to find a reason to hate it but just go enjoy the music, good and beer and you will be happy. I can dig it. read more
