I came in for a replacement wiper for an E class Mercedes Benz. It took the clerk a very long while to find the right wiper on his computer but eventually he found the model. He gave me options of wiper brands but after he went to go retrieve the requested brand, he said they were out of stock. I chose another brand he gave me and this wiper too was out of stock. He finally gave me a Napa brand wiper and took it home only to find out it was 2 inches too short and did not fit my car at all. It was completely the wrong model type. The woman that helped me was very knowledgeable in assisting me. I needed to figure out how to take care of the peeling topcoat on my car that has been peeling off. As I meandered around the store trying to figure out what to do, she walked up to me and asked if I needed help. After telling her the problem she immediately told me what I needed and even looked up some information to make sure she was correct in her advice. Brought my uncle a battery less than 6 months ago for his Jetta but within the last few weeks the car wouldn't start and requires jump start. (The battery has a 18-months warranty. I've been buying NAPA brand auto parts all of my driving life. I started purchasing parts at NAPA in my home town and I use and trust the parts. I've looked for a NAPA in every town I've ever moved to. I came in here, bought two oil filers for future oil changes. The tech punched in the wrong year for my truck and gave me the wrong filter. I didn't know it until the truck was in the air and the old filter and oil had been removed and drained. I called and although apologetic, they couldn't bring me a new filter. This left me in a stranded state paying by the hour for the lift to change my oil. I had a choice either putting the old filter on and new oil in to go and get the replacement, find another ride or a compatible filter at another retailer. Well long story-short. I found a compatible filter close by, walked over and got it. It wasn't the NAPA Gold I normally use but it was a new, quality brand filter. I walked in and asked for the manager and the staff there didn't bat an eye, didn't ask or offer if they could help me or anything they just called him out. Not sure what to think about the team here. They seem disjointed and just not very on top of their game, dunno just a quick observation. The best thing about this situation was when I finally got over to NAPA to switch out the wrong filters for the right ones. They provided me oil at no charge. I still trust NAPA but I will DEFINATELY check my parts and receipt in the store not assume I have the right stuff... Sláinte! read more

I buy quite a few auto parts because I have some older cars. In general I don't like Napa because there prices are usually higher than O'Reilly or Autozone and there cusomer service is poor. For example, I'm in the middle of changing out an AC compressor and I lost a bolt. I send my wife to Napa with the bolt I need, and tell her to make sure they know it is metric and to match it up. What happens? You guest it, she comes back with a SAE bolt. So I waste another 30 minutes running to Napa to try to get the correct bolt, which they did not have. This was the manager, that could not match the threads on two bolts. On the up side, they usually have a better stock of parts than the most of the other local stores. So, if I can't get something locally at other stores and I can't wait for an online parts place to ship it I will check with Napa. read more

Wow. Came here for replacement wiper blades. Went home and couldn't replace them myself. Came back to the store for help, older gentleman was completely unwilling to help, nor gave a damn. Turns out they sold me the wrong ones. Tried to exchange the blades, but was missing my receipt. They could not track my account, and claimed there was ZERO history of any sales of the two different blades in the last 90 days. Lesson learned. read more

Went in there for wiper blades for my car. Told the person make/model/etc. He was low energy and not knowledgable about the products. He got a blade and I asked him if it was the same as the manufacturers and he said he didn't know and that the computer is wrong so often he wasn't even sure it would fit. yikes! Why are they in business! I took it to my car and it was off by almost 2 inches. Took it back in and told them thanks anyways. I bought replacement headlights from here as both of mine happened to burn out at the same time. After returning home I remembered that my headlights are particularly difficult to install, so this was not a simple task. After calling a few mechanics and other full service part stores, I was appalled that I was being quoted about $100 to $130 to have them installed. This did not include the new bulbs they were insisting that I buy from their store. I decided to call Napa and ask if they could help. I spoke with Miguel who kindly told me to come in and he would install them. I returned to the store and after he looked at what needed to be done, he asked me to come back during his lunch hour so he could perform the install. When I returned, not only did he do a fantastic job, he had actually studied the best way to change the bulbs for my specific make/model car on YouTube. I am touched by the help Miguel and his coworkers extended to me and my family. They were helpful beyond measure and never seemed bothered by the effort, time and the rain that fell during this process. Napa Auto Parts has a forever customer. read more

I went to Napa because my friend had gifted me a battery from them. It had a 75 month warranty that was only a yr old. When I first went in, the guy I talked to was kind of rude. So I went out to my car and started calling all my family and friends to see if they could help me take out my old battery and put the new one in. Finally id reached a friend who said he could be there in 20 min. Around that time Chris came out and said that he felt sorry that we were stranded and even though he wasnt normally supposed to, he would take my battery out and install the new one! They knowingly sold me the wrong size tire chains last winter. I know it was intentional because I clearly told them the size I needed, and I believe they actually removed the tag that identifies the matching tire sizes so I couldn't tell it was wrong. I didn't find out it was the wrong size until we got to the mountain and saw that they didn't fit. It caused a major delay when I had to drive back down the mountain from Mammoth to the closest town and buy the correct size. I was able to return the wrong set of chains later, but I was really steamed that they did this to me, on purpose. read more
