They ordered the tire and 4 days later. I get a call, the tire is ready. I get there and they have slapped on a hundred dollars in charges. The employee I spoke with confirmed that the online price was the same as the in-store price, so I decided to make the trip and purchase the coolant. When I arrived, I was greeted by Adrian in the Parts Department. I explained that I had called a few days earlier and was there to purchase the Pink Coolant. However, when Adrian gave me the price, I noticed it was higher than the online price. He explained that the online price and in-store price were different. I told him that the employee I had spoken with previously had specifically confirmed that I would pay the same price at the dealership. Although the previous employee had given me incorrect information, Adrian handled the situation in a way that really stood out to me. He could have simply charged me the regular in-store price, but instead, he took the initiative to honor the online price as a one-time courtesy. I was very grateful for what he did. It wasn't necessarily about the price difference--it was the fact that Adrian took ownership of the situation and made sure I left feeling valued as a customer. His professionalism, understanding, and willingness to make things right turned what could have been a frustrating experience into a very positive one. I would like to take a moment to share my experience with Toyota of Redlands today. I have always…read morehad pleasant experiences here in the past, which is why today's experience was especially disappointing. I brought my car in because I had been hearing a noise coming from the driver's side for several weeks. After waiting a little over two hours, I was contacted by Steve, the service manager, and was told that there was nothing wrong with my car. I explained that I disagreed with the diagnosis because I could clearly hear the noise while driving. I was told that they have the best technicians and that if the technician didn't hear anything, then there was nothing wrong. I was essentially told that if I continued to hear the noise in a few more weeks, I could bring the car back and wait again to have it checked. As I was walking out, I decided to stop and speak with someone else because I knew something was wrong with my car. Thankfully, I spoke with Alex, who was extremely kind and helpful. He brought over Jimmy from the body shop, and these two gentlemen immediately took my concern seriously. They took me outside and quickly found a large nail in my tire. I was shocked because this was something that should have been identified during a thorough inspection, especially after I specifically brought the vehicle in because of a noise coming from that area. Jimmy then got in the car with me and took it for a drive. Within 10-20 seconds, he heard the exact noise I had been complaining about for the past three weeks. This was despite being told that the technician, Robbie, had completed a full diagnosis and found nothing wrong. I am very confused and concerned by this experience. If Alex and Jimmy had not taken the time to listen to me and actually investigate the issue, I would have left believing there was nothing wrong with my car -- when there was clearly an issue that was noticeable almost immediately. I am extremely grateful to Alex and Jimmy for their professionalism, kindness, and willingness to listen to me when I knew something wasn't right. They are the reason this issue was finally identified. However, I am very disappointed with the way my concerns were handled by Steve and with the diagnosis performed by Robbie. This experience has left me questioning whether my vehicle was actually inspected as thoroughly as I was told it was. I have trusted Toyota of Redlands for my vehicle, and after today, I hope management takes this situation seriously and looks into what happened. Customers should feel confident that when they bring their vehicle in with a specific concern, that concern is genuinely investigated -- especially when the customer is telling you they can hear and feel something is wrong.
