For a while now, Naples Pizza has been one of the few area Great Pizza merit badges that I was missing. I can see from Yelp that Naples is well loved by many people, including people whose opinions I value. I'm not sure if I got a "one-off" average Naples pizza or a representative one, but my small Naples Special did not connect with me. I ordered takeout through the online ordering platform and drove to pick it up. It was ready by the projected time, which I appreciate. Since I was eating much later than I usually do, I fashioned myself a grocery bag bib and ate a couple slices in the car. Two things immediately struck me. First, the crust was very thin and very, very crispy. It was so crispy, in fact, that no portion of the crust was even slightly chewy, and trying to fold the outer crust for eating purposes took some effort. I later noticed that hard chips of crust fell off as I took bites. Since Naples is the name of the restaurant, I assumed that they served Neapolitan style pizza. A Neapolitan crust is crisp on the exterior, and slightly chewy and soft inside. This pizza was not chewy or soft at all. Second, many bites of the pizza had a strong flour flavor. I could feel flour as I bit the pizza. I later noticed some flour residue on my finger tips as well. I posted pics that showed some concentrated areas of flour on the crust. I'm not sure if this is fairly typical for Naples Pizza. The toppings included pepperoni, bacon, sausage, onions, mushrooms, peppers and black olives. They were good. Given the volume of toppings, I didn't notice the flavors of the sauce or cheese that much, but I expect that for this type of pizza. Given my experience with Naples crust, this was a Three Star food experience for me. There's a good chance this wasn't Naples's best work, but it's all I have to work with. read more

Casual sit-down pizza joint with a bunch of options both pizza and non-pizza. The atmosphere is nothing to write home about, but they do have both indoor and outdoor seating. This place has some of my favorite pizza in the Hartford region. It is always fresh and delicious I came for lunch with my mom and we both got their "lunch special" which included the choice of either a salad or a soup with 2 slices of pizza for 10$. Wow. That's the first word that comes to mind after the first bite I had of Naples Pizza. My story starts with the want, no, the need...for a thin crust, chewy, NY style pizza without taking a road trip. Where we are in CT, we're surrounded by plenty of pizza places, but most of them are "greek style" - very good, but not what we wanted this weekend. We searched the internet, asked friends and foodies...and finally came across Naples Pizza. About a 25 mintue drive for us. As we looked through the menu, I loved that you had the ability to do half and half speciality pies. Not a lot of places give you that option. This gave us the ability to try 4 different pizzas - YES! The real pizza that called out to me was the Tomato & Basil - a classic and PERFECT on a thin NY style crust. It's immediately what I wanted. Along with that we tried the Bianco, Spicy Sopressata, and Classic Mozzarella. The Truffle also sounded amazing! All the pies were as good as they sounded and better than expected. The Bianco was perfection with the large dollops of ricotta and the Sopressata was just spicy enough. And the Tomato Basil? Better than any craving in my head. Just wow. Exactly what I wanted!! The only downside is the pizza was a bit cold by the time we got home, but that was to be expected based on our drive and no fault to the restaurant, of course. They were packed on a Saturday evening at 6pm but our pizzas were ready right when they said it would be. We also had the ability to easily order online and they gave the option for curbside pickup. I have lived in the Farmington Valley my whole life and it wasn't until quarantine that I finally made it a point to try Naples I am not sure what the heck I was doing with my life before this BUT NAPLES IS TOP NOTCH Quick and easy to order online. Pickup was a breeze and they have curbside! We got a medium cheese pizza. The crust was thin and flavorful with a great crunch. The ovens crisped this pizza up perfect with the perfect bite and sturdy crust but still soft and amazing. We opened the pizza box and the next thing I know, no pictures were taken! It was so good we couldn't stop to even admire! As usual we got fries. THESE WERE HANDS DOWN THE BEST. Not large but not small sized fries. Perfectly crunchy and salty. Holy cow. But the best part... the eggplant parm sandwich. Crunchy eggplant cutlets with the amazing sauce. Fresh parm. I'd eat this every day!! I regret not trying Naples much sooner. All I know is this spot opened at 11am today and I got there; roughly around 11:35a - they were busy inside, the phones were going crazy and folks were walking in, grabbing slices to go! All I knew was that I was inside of the RIGHT pizzeria today! So now my mind is racing everywhere as to what I should order - I wanted a little bit of everything and so for the first time ever, I ordered a soup at a pizzeria. I went with their chicken and spinach. Can we say, delightful? My soup came out roughly 7 minutes after I had ordered it and it was hot and flavorful! The chicken was so fresh, it still had a wishbone in the soup and I wasn't even upset about it. Both shredded and small whole chicken pieces aligned this soup and each bite was chunky! This chicken came from a good home in a wealthy area for the way it tasted alone and my spinach was picked directly from someones backyard. This was no regular store brand spinach!! Too soft, had the nerve to be luxurious in its own presentation with spinach leaves and all in my soup. Upper Class Soup was a first for me and I enjoyed every loud sip of it too. Onwards to my Roast Beef panini! Crispy and full of garden bites from the hand picked lettuce and fresh tomatoes, working together to enhance our flavor profile on this one. The Toasted Panini pressed bread was a great option and the roast beef itself wasn't half bad. Plenty of roast beef, well done and I do mean well done but still good. Nice cut on the roast beef and the mayo addition with the cheese, brought everything full circle here. Now the cheese pizza was good but the specialty pie is what blew me away!! Pesto base with the spark of the goat cheese. Hennessy flavored grilled onions, along with bruschetta - thin with a nice salty flare and the goat cheese was kicking up a light sweetness that comforted my palate. The fresh dough was a great addition here and the crisp on the crust made me love this specialty pie even more so!! Who am I not to get the Pizza Pop? - Just a calzone like stuffed dough, flooded with fresh mozzarella, chicken and shrimp and to be honest with you, there was so much cheesy goodness here that I was able to make out that good chicken but couldn't make out the shrimp at all but I seen that it was in there. Listen, Naples is good through and through!! I recommend getting there early because if not, do not be surprised at the wait times here! I felt my pizza was missing some thing and it was because I forgot to add basil but other than that it was pretty damn good. Ordered our pizza online with a pick up time of 50min later...understandable for a Saturday evening. Got there 15min early for pick up so I could add 2 side slices to the order. The girl (pink hair) took my name, my money and put the 2 slices in the oven to warm. I watched one girl (ponytail/glasses) walk over to the prep area and tap my order ticket that was still hanging above the prep table. I waited and waited, watching countless others come in, get their orders and leave. Finally, at 10min past when my order was due to be ready I asked how much longer...same girl walks over and taps the same damn ticket hanging above the prep area...they hadn't even made the damn pizza. Worse the two slices of pizza I ordered (2 basil/mozz) had been given to someone else erroneously and they were trying to give me two other random slices that had been sitting in the pick up area...when I said no, a 3rd girl tried to box two slices of plain cheese pizza, which I also said no to. The ticket tapping teen keeps saying, just a few more minutes, just a few more minutes...ridiculous...I know they had just put the pizza in the oven. Now there are three young ladies tripping over themselves trying to figure things out and not one of them own the mistake or attempt an apology, their solution is just wait longer. Nah, I asked for a full refund..."but your pizza will be out in just a few minutes". I quietly take my refund receipt and head out the door to Pepe's in West Hartford. So first things first great place to go in summer if it's 90 out and you want to freeze. This was the first weekend of May and the ac was at 67. The pizza fit the air temp. Good pizza place. We had their eggplant fries with marinara sauce as an appetizer. Wonderful, crispy on the outside, melt in your mouth on the inside. The serving is big enough to be an appetizer for 4. Then a large chicken Parm grinder. The chicken was tender, tasted great, and the large size serving is big enough for two to comfortably share. Then a large fresh tomato, garlic, basil pie, with crispy crust. Delicious. The amount of food that we ordered would have satisfied four people, for less than $15/person. Pleasant good service. Excellent food and customer service. I order from here all the time especially for house parties because quality is consistent and I can always count on Naples to deliver. First time we went there my toddlers were indecisive on the shape of pasta and type of cheese for their mac n cheese. The server was so gracious and offered to mix two types of pasta and cheese and the kids loved it as well as the adults. This is the first reverie that went from 5 stars to one, however it has been a long time coming as the last several visits have been sub par and the service has dropped off significantly. My first recommendation is if you get Erika as a waitress to get up and order takeout, as you are guaranteed your items to be wrong. This last time we ordered a naples special pizza. Pretty routine order. The pizza came out significantly undercooked. After flagging down another server since ours was nowhere to be seen, the pizza went back. Waiting close to 25 minutes, we expected that a new pizza was being made to correct the previous mistake. To our surprise it was the same pizza, now looking wilted and just warm. The really odd thing is that a slice was missing! We once again called over a server to discuss this issue. Couldn't care less Bill came and we were charged full price. I complained that we were missing a slice and the pizza was sent back. The "manager" said she would take care of it- bill came back with a $3.50 credit. Can't make it up. Charging $24 for a pizza and this is what you get. Breaks me up to write this review however ownership there needs to wake up and get back to why this place originally received 5 stars read more

Naples is the best if you want pizza! I ordered a slice of veggie pizza, a calzone, wings and tried the mac n cheese. Everything was delicious. Their wings are my FAVORITE. It's a hidden gem and their bleu cheese dressing is perfect. The calzone could have used some work with filling distribution (ricotta was kind of on one side and mozz on the other and not a lot of fillings on the ends), but overall it was HUGE and very good. The mac n cheese had a Stouffers vibe where it was really cheesy. Its a little far for us but, we will continue to order from Naples! read more

Whether you prefer just plain cheese or a topping or two (traditional or unique) they are made right here. The crust is thin but still holds toppings well, due to the crispy quality, no flop here. The toppings are plentiful as witnessed on the pizza of the month "The Greek". This pizza (pictured) was loaded with Artichoke hearts, Sun dried tomatoes, Feta cheese, roasted red peppers and roasted garlic. If you're looking for a cheese pie, give the fresh Mozzarella a try for an authentic NY style experience. This place, This is my type of pizza place. Ordered delivery, got to my place promptly and was nice and hot. We got their meatball plate and a medium Naples Special pizza. The meatballs were a very decent size. Firm but meaty, not cakey or heavy on the breadcrumbs. had a layer of sauce at the bottom of the carry-out tray for dunking. a very solid appetizer, almost a meal in-of-itself. The pizza was Big. even their medium comes in at 16 inches and was heavy. laden with tons of toppings and not too much grease. It was salty from all the meats added, sweet from the pizza sauce, the dough was crispy and just thin enough to not be an annoyance. It isn't a fancy pizza, but it's a well done one. It was a very good pizza, with the only real negative that they didn't cut it well. They cut it like an old italian guy randomly criss-crossed a pizza with a cutter and got it mostly right. There were some odd slivers and gigantic slices mixed in for good measure, but nothing enough to ding them on a review. I like these guys as a pizza place, and might even make the trek to get another from them. They are that good. read more
