I asked how buying oysters goes because I had never purchased them fresh before. He directed me to the gentleman running the place who told me the current price for a bushel was $70, half for $40. I gave the woman at the desk my credit card while I chatted them up. They've been in busy since 1939, selling crabs, oysters, grouper, snapper, you name it. People tend to wipe them out daily, so it's best to show up as early as possible. I thanked everyone (including the animals) and drove home with my half-bushel in hand. Thank goodness I had a random cardboard box in my car or else I would have gotten ocean water all in the trunk. And, of course, the oysters were sublime. Salty with a smooth ocean aftertaste. Great raw and steamed, but even better with cocktail sauce and lemon juice on top. Yes, I ate half a bushel by myself in three days. It took a day to clean them all! Don't judge me. I live in Western Pa. & if I want good Italian bread I have to drive 2 hours to Pittsburgh (bread not that good!!!) or in the other direction 4 1/2 hours to my sisters house in NJ. for the real deal...well the real deal is in Napoli's cafe Italian bread. 12" Turkey, Ham, Pepperoni & Swiss Cheese..I thought I was in heaven. This is just down right great food. The reason for 5 stars is because they have the whole package at Napoli. The food was amazing, delicious and fresh ingredients portioned out perfect. I got the signature sandwhich. The Napoli and I loved it. Delicious corn salad as a side and I mean super delicious. The restaurant was very clean. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Staff was polite and the food came out super quick. Great price also. I definitely will be back to get some more food. The only mistake I made was I ordered a 6" sub instead of a 12"! First, and most definitely, not the last time to visit Napoli Cafe. I ordered the 6" Express Italian sandwich and it was loaded with meats and cheese, the veggies were crisp and crunchy, a side order of delicious corn salad, a bowl of pea soup and their dressing was outstanding. Alot of food for a good price and no I couldn't finish all the food because they were big portions for a woman. So delicious!! I've eaten there a few times now, something different each time and I have not been disappointed. The salads are really good and filling. The sandwiches are amazing! The bread is so good and they do not skimp on the meat and veggies. The house dressing is really fantastic too. My kids love the mocha's (iced and warm). So glad to have a better place to eat in Sneads Ferry. You definitely need to give this place a try. I don't even know where to start, the food is absolutely delicious as well as the coffee! My personal favorites have to be the Italian combo and iced vanilla latte! Nobody beats this place! I recently tried the breakfast sandwich (omelet in the sub roll with all the fresh toppings) and just as before AMAZING!
