When I visited the store, I was really impressed with the variety of products they offer. They had a great selection of natural herbs, wellness items, and holistic products. I also love that it's Black-owned, which makes supporting the business even more meaningful. The customer service was okay, not overly friendly, but not rude either. I absolutely love this place, and I've only been here once! Wish I heard about it sooner! This place is a wellness haven! I purchased mullein leaf tea, a tea strainer, face serum, body wash, face wash, and a roll on fragrance! The value I got for my money was insane, the service was amazing, and the ambiance was very nurturing! It was clearly a safe space! Apparently you can get customized teas or leaves for certain ailments, and there's a doctor at the location who can prescribe which tea you need! I didn't get to utilize that service because he had just left, but I think it's amazing we can offer our community something like this! Today was my first time visiting Nappily Naturals & Apothecary in Leimert Park, even though I live in the neighborhood...I never had an opportunity to visit and today we did. I went with my daughter and sister each of us seeking something different: I wanted herbal support for menopause, my daughter for lactation, and my sister for stress and anxiety. When we walked in, the energy was beautiful and a warm aroma, welcoming vibe, and the herbalist himself was truly amazing. He took time to ask thoughtful questions, gave detailed explanations, and clearly cared about helping people holistically. You could feel his passion for what he does. Unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by a woman who introduced herself as the operations manager. While we were speaking with the herbalist (Justin), she repeatedly interrupted him -- even while he was assisting other customers. She seemed to be pressuring him to rush through interactions, and at one point, she told my daughter she needed a consultation even though the sign clearly says customers may ask one or two questions. As a first-time customer, this made the experience uncomfortable. We felt rushed and reprimanded, which was disappointing because everything else about the shop felt so intentional and peaceful. In a professional setting, feedback for staff should be handled privately, not in front of customers. I truly hope management takes this as constructive feedback, because the herbalist's knowledge and energy are a huge asset, and the shop itself is a gem in the community. With a little more care in how customers are treated, this could easily be one of the best holistic experiences in Los Angeles. My five stars are for the amazing herbalist and the rest of the Staff... if I had to rate the operations manager it would be ZERO stars. I give this place 2 stars because I bought soap from there, and so far I'm seeing decent results (although someone I know and see everyday asked me why my face looked like it had a dark shade to it) - I think I was using it too much. We'll see! However, I bought their brand of Batana Paste and my edges are GONE! I'm so sad!! When I did a bit more research on the product, I noticed their branded Batana oil is not derived from Honduras, which is the authentic version. The one they make themselves is filled with other ingredients, fragrances, etc. as stated on their site, but not the package/jar itself. My edges are gone (I am almost bald in the front) - I'm praying they start to grow back over the next week. So sad and unfortunate. Won't be buying any more of their custom/store branded products EVER!!! read more

One of my coworkers recommended this place to buy sea moss. This was my first visit to the store. It is nice and cleaned and it looked like it was pretty well stocked. However, the customer service was terrible. Every employee that was not busy with a customer was on their phone texting as I was wandering around looking for someone to help me. Finally, when I got the attention of one employee, he assisted me, but didn't seem like he knew much about the sea moss products. I was very annoyed by the lack of customer service. I did purchase over $50 worth of products, but will be reluctant to go back because of my lackluster experience. LOVE Nappily! I'm so happy I found out about them a few months ago. I've bought a ton of items from their herbal teas & powders, to the shampoos and conditioners, body butters, and other hygiene items. Everything is of course, natural, pure and healing. My only complaint is that they're frequently out of stock on A LOT of the most popular items like the Empress Splash powder, dandelion root, burdock root, or hair growth shampoo and conditioner, and this is on multiple occasions. The restocking is infrequent as well. I'd say call before going to make sure they have the items in stock (especially if you drive from a distance like me) but the phone isn't currently working and for that I give 4 stars. Other than that, I'm grateful for this gem of a store, the high quality of products, friendly & knowledgeable staff. He was thorough and knowledgeable. I truly appreciated that. After gathering our products we went over to check out. The girl ringing us up was very short & cold she scratched in her hair without washing her hands before preparing us a bag of loose sea salt very unsanitary. Also for me knowing where your products come from is an assurance that customers look forward to.. it feels reassuring that you can trust the co. & when I asked where the salt was sourced from she had no idea She never mentioned the 15% discount which to me is key in acquiring new customers smh its a loyalty thing. I don't think I've ever been so inspired coming into a store . This is my absolute newest favorite place to shop . I came in looking for knowledge on burdock root and the herbalist was able to help me immeditely and tell me what I needed . I also had a bad case of eczema flare up because of a scented detergent I used and I wss able to buy a soap and lotion that has gotten my skin back together and regenerating new cells ( esthetician joke hehe ) . There are two sides one is a bit more moody and the other is a bit more light filled . Everyone is extremely knowledgable and personable . They make it a point to be able to serve the community . The way everyone was able to come in and either ask for what they needed and the herbalist understood perfectly had me enamored . The snacks , seasoning and spices had me putting a mental note for my pinterest board later that day . The opposite side , there were over 250 herbs , shea butter collections and incense , diffusers and lot of goodies to buy . First off, it was awesome being referred to this business by another business on the same block because they didn't have what I was looking for. Small businesses supporting one another is truly a great thing. That being said, I'm so glad to have learned of this places. It is AMAZING! The right side of the store has an entire wall of jars full of herbs and teas that are labeled with helpful info about various uses and benefits. Loading up one teas and super food powders was not in my plan but I felt like a kid in a candy store exploring the goods. My purchase included Ginseng, which I've never tried, but I've been adding it to my oatmeal at the suggestion of an employee and I love it! The left side of the store is stacked with delectable body butters (all natural), stress relief products, and a ton of other natural skin and hair products. I went in looking to buy raw Shea butter (which they have) but left with this soothing Goat milk + Black honey body butter. Putting this on after a warm shower had me floating on clouds. All in all, this shop is a dream for anyone in or around the community looking for a legit apothecary. The employees were helpful and the owners were very nice. I placed an order on January 27 that was supposed to arrive on January 30. It's February 9. Not only have I not received my order, but the package apparently never made it to the post office. Which would have been fine if the store hadn't lied to me and said the order had been fulfilled. I've called several times at this point looking for answers and now no one seems to know where my items are. I get passed off from associate to associate, get put on holds that no one returns to, and I have yet to receive any communication concerning postage delays or a refund. I don't like leaving bad reviews anywhere because I know how important word of mouth is when building a business.
