TERRIBLE SERVICE. The waitress was a woman named Lupe. She spoke very broken English and she had the WORST ATTITUDE. She was very DISCRIMINATORY too. They had us pay before we got our food and I didn't see that any customers had to do that. We ordered a bottle of moscato and she said no. We asked if she was even going to check our id's and she did. She studied my friend's id's for a good 10 hours then she proceeded to check mine. Although, I am the youngest of the group, I am over the age of 21. She denied me a glass because I turned 21 a month ago! I almost had to speak with the manager, but she reluctantly gave me a glass. After that she was rolling her eyes at me all night. Everyone's food came out except mine, so I gave her the benefit of the doubt and waited. One of my friends got curry and it was the best thing I tasted that evening. Then I tried some of my friend's orange chicken and it was very crunchy and sweet. Lupe did not come and check on us at all. I waived to get her attention and I asked when my food would be out. She brought me back a menu. I repeated myself and she got mad and YELLED AT ME. I told her I just wanted the food I ordered. She didn't even say anything; she just look like she forgot about it and ran to the kitchen. She came back with my food and she insincerely apologized. I only ordered sushi; that doesn't take too long to make. It didn't even taste good. We also got dessert, but Lupe forgot once again. We decided to get it to get it to go. I'm not normally a huge fish person, but I couldn't resist the description of the dish on Ubereats, so I had to give it a try! I'm extremely glad I did because it was absolutely delicious, the fish was perfectly fried and crispy without being too dry and the Tamarind and Thai Herb sauce that came with it paired extremely well with the saltiness and basil taste of the fish. It was a match made in heaven and I absolutely enjoyed every bite!! I'll definitely be ordering from here again, thank you! read more

The sushi is really good but my go to is the pad Thai, it is phenomenal. The crab Rangoons are a win too.

We have been coming to Nara Thai for years now (even when it was still called Anothai) but I believe this will be our last visit (11/27/24). Place was not busy at all but service was very slow. It took 20 minutes to get our Spring Rolls - and when we got them, while hot on the outside, they were literally still frozen in the middle. Unfortunately, after our waiter - who we found out is also the acting manager - did not return to our table for over 10 minutes after dropping them off and that was only because we had to have the person working the take out counter flag him down. When we advised him, he simply took them from our table and did not offer to replace them, and, we had to ask him to remove them from our bill. A few minutes later, entree arrived. I had pad thai chicken, and after the first bite, I noticed a bug crawling on the plate. He came back over and we showed him and he again took the dish, again not offering to replace it (and at this point I was thoroughly disgusted and no longer had an appetite.) My wife no longer wanted her meal either. All we got out of him was "sorry". Not, "let me take these off your bill" or "let me offer you a dinner at a later date" or anything kind of remorse - just total indifference. We wasted almost 45 minutes without eating here. We could have gotten past the awful food preparation and health issues if were handled differently, but not the complete apathy from the manager. We won't be going back. Delicious!! So glad we stopped by for lunch! The Tom Yum soup was amazing! We had the chicken curry puffs which did t disappoint. The pad see eue was also fantastic. On almost all items we went with very low spice but the tom yum was medium - loved the spice though! read more

This Thai place used to be under the name AnoThai until they changed their name to Nara Thai a couple years. Earlier today my grandma wanted to take me and my family along w/ my aunt and cousin who were visiting from out of town to this place after we stopped ordering from Bangkok Bistro near Cypress Rosehill due to the food, particularly the pad thai starting to taste really bad and inedible under a new cook over there. Overall the food here @ Nara is a bit better compared to Bangkok and there's quite a bit more here to choose from. We ordered vegetarian fried spring rolls, papaya salad, and a calamari appetizer and I would give 4 stars on the calamari though. I also ordered a crab fried rice w/ green onions being omitted and it was very tasty and delicious! If you are a fan of crab, I would definitely recommend trying this if you go here or any other Thai restaurant that serve crab fried rice. Looks like this will our new go-to Thai place from now on and hopefully I can try some of their other dishes like the pad ka tiem and peanut sauce! :) read more

The food is great ! Sometimes the spice level is not consistent but the taste is. Little on the expensive side but it's a good place when you crave for Thai food ! Beware of the spice levels. I've been on a bit of a Thai kick lately. From being sick a few weeks ago to the chilly bouts of weather we've had, I've really craved a heat/spice that usually only Thai can deliver. For me Nara Thai was just okay. It was good, pretty on par with spice, but didn't live up to my go-to spot. The Tom Yum soup has a good flavor, but it's lack in substance. However, most are like that in the US, so I always order a side of jasmine rice to go with it. As long as the broth is good, I'll likely order again. My real issue was with the Pad Thai. I usually order tofu Pad Thai when ordering to have later for my meatless Monday :) I actually ended up throwing most of this one out. I order extra spicy, and while it was, it was also sickly sweet. The bit that I did eat, I doctored up with other Asian sauces/seasoning that I keep on hand. My order was ready quick. And I would probably give Nara another shot, I would just order a different entrée. read more

Food is delish, cleanliness and ambiance was superb. For the good: We had the chicken pad Thai and it was delicious with just the right amount of sweet and great portion, thai cashew with beef, pineapple curry medium heat, miso soup and steam rice, mango sticky rice for dessert. Onto the not so good: we requested steam rice with seaweed on top for my 7 year old daughter. The waitress seemed confused and asked what kind and I said the kind you put on sushi. So she said the dried kind and I said sure, then she scrunched up her face and said we don't do that here. Umm y'all sell sushi and miso soup with seaweed in it and you can't sprinkle seaweed on it???!!! I have not ever had an Asian restaurant not accommodate a small and simple request and you have it available. Next, they were not very attentive when it came to checking on our table and offering refills or water. I felt the same waitress did not want to be bothered with our table. My daughter said the miso soup was bitter and didn't like it. Summarizing their food 5 stars, customer service 2 1/2 and portion size 4 stars. My partner and I been going to Nara Thai for a long time. We love it so much to a point where we try to go once a week. To a point where the waiter/waitress know you. The food is amazing and we enjoy it a whole like. For the past couple months we been we feel like the service has gone downhill. Our food is taking a long time to come out, the waiter/waitress barely check up on you because they are too busy behind the counter talking. Especially when you need a refill on your drink. Today we went to have dinner. We got there at 7:00pm, it took us 15 mins to get our edamame. Then after it came out we had to hurry up to put in our order to make sure we got our food on time. Which we did not it was already to 8 pm when we got our food. Once we go our food no one check back with us to see how it was. Close to when we are about to finish eat, they finally want to refill our drink. The past couple time we have been very understanding and very forgiving but it seem like it has been a continuous thing and tonight I had to talk to my partner and told him, that we might need to stop coming for awhile and find somewhere else. Ordered relatively quickly and got our meal in a timely fashion. The take aways. It's very average. Average flavor. Average quality. Average presentation. But above average price. My friends and I came in for lunch at this restaurant. We ordered pad thai and pad see eue. It came with a bowl of tom yum and an egg roll for appetizers. The food was delicious and had a large proportion, so we all left with a to go box of leftovers. The restaurant was kept clean and had a kid-friendly environment. The staff was kind and helpful! The flavor was great but the spice level was way hotter than expected. I ordered a no spice dish and unfortunately I could barely eat it. It got to the point where I was only eating it because I didn't want to throw it away....I get it- it's Thai food. Maybe the spice was actually correct to order- but if someone asks to make it not spicy at all...shouldn't they have told me that that's just not something they can do? I would have simply ordered something else and actually enjoyed my food rather than feel regretful about ordering here. Or maybe put a warning saying that they're spice levels are higher than normal (even the "non spicy"). Oh well. I called in to order for catering however the lady gang up on me twice, I ordered a tray of food only cost $40 but they required me to come in to pay first, which defeats my purpose and very inconvenient, however I drove 20' to come in to paid for it and the small little short hair lady who picked up my orders act extremely impolite and walked away from me! Went to Nara Thai for my birthday celebration- We asked for vegetarian option not adding fish oil and eggs- We were charged $1-$2 extra on each item we ordered just becuase they are not putting egg or fish oil- They also charged gratuity twice had I not caught on the bill. We got take out from here tonight. The Thai Cashew Nut with mock duck was amazing! (First of all thank you for having something besides just tofu for vegetarians) I could have eaten the whole dish I one sitting. My only complaint is that there wasn't enough for 2 meals in my order. The other items were also very good. Husband wished the chicken with peanut sauce had more sauce, but he liked the taste of the chicken and vegetables a lot.
