Note: this review is based on a to-go order of the crab fried rice. The food was prepared quickly. The staff were friendly. The fried rice was delicious. The restaurant seemed inviting. The parking situation can be tough as it's a busy retail area. I look forward to coming back and having a more complete Thai meal.

Came here for my birthday celebration. Love that you can veganize the menu by paying extra $1, haven't seen that before anywhere. They don't have any lunch specials but we were more excited about thier vegan options. The spring rolls were a little bland but decent. Man, the vegetarian spicy basil fried rice was amazing! Finely chopped vegetables, just how I like them. Very tasty. Thai tea & the noodles were good too. Would like to try thier curries sometime.

I ordered from Nara before and thought it was pretty good but this last time I'm pretty shocked at what they charge and the portions they give. They charge 14 dollars for a curry that is about 1/2 the portion size of what I usually get at any other Thai restaurant. And for shrimp they charged me an extra 6 dollars and gave me 3 pieces of shrimp. I don't think I can ever order from this place again. It is a shame because the food tastes good but I can't justify paying 90 bucks for Thai food that is 1/2 portion sizes.

We ordered from the Cypress location and have been extremely loyal however the past two times have been awful. We ordered the Orange Chicken (over cooked and only 11 tiny pieces and dry) fried rice (over cooked dry chicken and no flavor) and Pad Thai ( dry and had a very strange flavor) on top of all of that the portions were extremely small compared to what they use to be. Not pictured is the tofu they originally made for us and I had to drive over 45 min round trip and wait 15 min for my food. Extremely horrible experience, didn't once ask if they could compensate and refund our money. After the past two experiences I doubt we will be back after going to this spot for years.

Great location, easy parking. Staffs are nice. Foods are okay, we like their mock duck, basil tofu and tomyam. Fried calamari were bad, the batter was too greasy and tasteless, the calamari was overcooked.

Food, service, and great cozy ambiance. Came in for dinner! We all got pad Thai with iced tea our usual order. Love that they customize the spice level to your liking!

Five stars through Uber Eats delivery! We have ordered here multiple times and every time, it's been a hit. The food arrived still warm ~ so thanks Uber Eats. We always order Pad See Ew w/ chicken or beef, Orange Chicken w/ rice, crab puffs and sticky rice w/ custard. All the food that we ordered were flavorful and taste delish! We did pick spice level 3, it's the perfect amount of spice - spicy to have your nose running but still super edible! The sticky rice w/ custard - taste extremely fresh and not old rice. Will definitively continue to order from here. Nara Thai Dining & AnothaThai are my two go to Uber Eats restaurants to order from for Thai food in Cypress area.

The food was delicious, service was excellent. The curry was rich and flavorful, with just the right amount of spice, and it brought me very close to the authentic Thai flavors I crave. We definitely will return!

Basil Fried Rice with Beef. Would definitely order again.

Overall, I found the food to be very flavorful, well seasoned, and unique. My daughter and I actually ended up liking each other's meals more than our own, so we switched plates, which worked out well. We also ordered a few extra items, including wings and yams. The pounded yam was interesting and very different from anything I usually eat. It is probably not something I would go out of my way to order again, but I am glad I tried it and now understand a little better how it is eaten. The one disappointing part of the visit was the ordering experience. The young man who rang us up was polite, but he was unable to make any recommendations. He said he had been working there for about three months and still could not really suggest what to order. For someone like me, who is unfamiliar with this type of food, recommendations would have been very helpful. I would have appreciated some guidance on the most popular dishes, common choices, or what first-time customers usually enjoy. That said, the owner was extremely kind. She came out to our table, spoke with us, and helped explain how to eat some of the food we had ordered. I really appreciated that. She came across as a very sweet person, and based on her hospitality alone, I would come back to support the business. This style of food may not personally be my cup of tea or something I will crave often, but I respect the flavor, the care, and the local business behind it. I would give Bantu House four stars. It could have been closer to 3.5 for me personally, mostly because of the lack of ordering guidance, but the owner's kindness and the quality of the food pushed it to four.

The table we chose was clean, but the seats and floor weren't. The host kindly cleaned it up for us. We sat for quite a while before asking a staff member for water. We also requested lemons, but they never came, so we let it go. We ordered large bowls of chicken pho, and that was definitely the highlight. The portions were generous and packed with flavor, with a great balance of chicken and noodles. Midway through the meal, we ordered lemonade. The host didn't seem too happy about it and went to the back for a while. It seemed like it might be made from powder since she grabbed ice from the front machine. Then we found out it was $5, which was surprising. Service-wise, it felt a bit off at times, but you could tell they were trying. We did share a few laughs with the male waiter, which helped the experience. At checkout, we got a percentage off for Mr. Pho's 7th anniversary at this particular location, which was a nice touch.

It's been quite a long time since I was here and as I was in the neighborhood I decided to stop by again today. Remembering how good they were last time, I ordered the Oma's Frikadellen (grandma's recipe for all-beef meatballs). I like a good German meatball and these were tender and juicy. There was a choice of red cabbage or sauerkraut as a side; having confirmed they made the sauerkraut in-house themselves, had to order that because I know it's super healthy to eat. Better yet, that sauerkraut was almost perfect with a great flavor, but not too tart and just really a delicious version. Honestly I could've eaten a huge bucket load of that sauerkraut and I may buy some to go someday just to have it on hand in my refrigerator; a slight warm and it would be a wonderful side to serve guests. Dessert was a wow! I wanted to try a dessert that they made themselves and so I couldn't help but go with one of the dessert specials of the day. There were several options available not on the menu and although it was tempting to try the tiramisu or one of the three versions of crème brûlée they make, I decided to go with their homemade limoncello cake which turned out to be a delicious choice that I'm very happy about. Waiter Ty said it was one of his favorite desserts here and I could taste why -- moist cake, flavor-filled filling, whipped cream and with blueberries to decorate the plate. In fact it was so yummy that I decided that so someday soon I would order one with a couple days notice and then take it to my family's place next time I go over for dinner - what I don't know is whether I'll tell them the truth or try and pretend that I made it myself LOL :-) Update: the next day I did call to order an entire cake and it didn't last very long once the family dug in, got gobbled up because it had an intense great lemon flavor, wonderful.

The Kung pao Brussels sprouts slightly sweet and sour, and the spicy, crispy, chicken...well it'll numb your mouth, and it will be worth it. Somehow they've found the sweet spot (not literally) by creating that classic Sichuan tongue numbing spice, without creating a spicy dish per se. Apart from the numbness, the dish reads more savory than anything else.
