I have come here as a delivery driver for a long time before I ever tried it myself, and want to recognize this place as one of the best spots to deliver from. When I came by the other night, I got a philly roll, salmon avocado roll, and ceviche roll, plus tamago nigiri. The rolls were reasonably priced and had lots of fish, plus tasted very fresh. The chicken teriyaki was really dried out (they should have been embarrassed to serve it) and according to my dining companion, the tempura batter was sub par. I used to love this little sushi restaurant. But I haven't visited in a few years and last night we met up with family here for my birthday dinner. Narumi Sushi has always been a small restaurant, but recently they have changed. The dining area is almost non-existent now. Zero wait staff and you must go to the register to place your order. Even when dining in, everything was served in plastic, cardboard and styrofoam. Plastic utensils, plastic water cups, etc... It was a very underwhelming and cheap-feeling experience. I would compare it to a very small/somewhat grungy taco shop or burger place. It seems like they are almost solely catering towards takeout. If you are dining in you will be waiting in line with people picking up to-go and Uber Eats/Door Dash delivery drivers. The inside of the restaurant also smelt like fish and not fresh fish, which is telling in itself. Seafood/sushi restaurant are NOT supposed to stench. Soy sauce is only in little foil packets like McDonalds ketchup. Sushi rolls are mostly rice and panko flakes and all 3 of our different rolls tasted almost the same, even though they had different ingredients. A few years ago the food was pretty good. The service was also good. But now every aspect of this restaurant is mediocre at best. Very sad :-( read more

Loved the generous portion of Hamachi kama. The sauce with it was enhancing. My fav bite was rge spicy scallop handroll. So fresh and well seasoned! There were two roll options that are rice-free. The no rice rainbow roll had good flavor. However the texture could have been better. Too soft with the large portion of finely chopped or ground tuna. The special crab roll was more successful with a generous portion of crab. It had better texture. We also tried the gondzilla roll and we all loved the eel and crunchies. I must say I was not impressed with this place. It's a little spot that is on the older side with no frills at all. I ordered a Bento Box and it was not brought to the table in a cute little box like most other Japanese restaurants. It was brought to the table in a cheap plastic container. This place does not have any servers here so make sure you keep that in mind. I was very disappointed in the portion size which was so small that I was regretting being here. You can see by the photo of the Bento Box how small the portion sizes were. What is the point to come and have lunch only to leave hungry. Maybe if you are dieting this is okay. In any case, the food was so so. The tempura shrimp was super skimpy. The teriyaki chicken was such a small portion I was shocked. It was not the best flavor. The only items that were good was the salad which also was a small portion and the small scoop of rice. Because there are no servers here, you buss your own table. I will have to say I will not return when there is so much competition out there for better Japanese food with a nice ambiance as well. I really do feel this place can improve if they are willing to put more effort into the ambiance, food, and hire servers. Otherwise, I will be at Tabu Sushi or anywhere else. We've been a patron of Narumi for many years. Overall, the food is pretty good for an every-day neighborhood sushi spot, but lately I've noticed a real slip in the freshness of the fish and the portion sizes (sashimi). My biggest complaint is the way they manage their takeout orders. Once you place the order there is no communication regarding when your order is ready, this means you either show up early and sit in your car or pick up the food after it's been sitting around. How hard would it be to find a text based system that alerts you when your food is ready? read more

During the 'before' times, there was always a line of people waiting to be seated - I know this because we'd be coming from the gluttony known as Souplantation (#RIP). Now that we are living in what we are living in now, I love how you can order online (the ecomm site needs to be a bit speedier IMHO) and pick up all the goodness! I've never been a fan of take away sushi, but there wasn't enough room to sit and eat together with the size of our family (6). Made it home with several orders. It was incredibly easy! We order the Salmon Lover Combo every time aka this time (posted a pic of it). It's my favorite, just so damn good.
