These are some really good burgers. Good size, and great taste. The only thing I would change is add more bacon but I can't blame them. Bacon isn't cheap and most places give you the same amount but the bacon here is a bit more thick than anywhere else

Whenever I try a new burger place, I have to get their original burger as a standard, so I ordered the "All American" which is also their top seller. The patty was juicy and decently sized, the fixings (tomato, lettuce, onion) were all fresh and delicious, and the pickles, thousand island sauce, and brioche bun just brought it all together and topped it off nicely. I have to admit the bottom bun did get a little soggy at the end, but I think it was all from the juices of the patty. It's also a really good portion size for the price! For under $12 total, I couldn't finish the entire burger and I was stuffed. My friends also ordered fries and they said they were solid - nice and crispy, decent seasoning, but nothing spectacular. The place itself is easy to miss if you're not familiar with the area and the inside is fairly small (~3 tables to seat 4 people each?) but I loved the casual, no frills environment. Order at the front, sit down and self serve water, and then they bring out the food in under 10 minutes! My friends and I also stuck around just to talk for a bit after finishing our food and we never felt rushed or as if we were unwelcome to stay, which I also appreciated. Overall, I had a great experience and I'd definitely want to come back to try a different burger soon!

Even though I didn't frequent them all that often while they were still here, for quite a while, Buzz was my go-to spot for a tasty burger on this side of SF. It wasn't amazing, nor the best value (Super Duper takes that distinction), but there was so much to like - friendly staff, plenty of parking, nary a wait, and, most importantly, the burgers were just solid. So, needless to say, it was a bummer when I passed by and saw that they were gone. Too bad I took such a long time to finally come here and check out their replacement. If I hadn't, I would've discovered that even though Buzz may be gone, Native Burger really isn't all that different! While their facade and aspects of their interior have changed (gone is the bench seating, replaced in favor of three picnic tables), not much about Native is all that different from its predecessor. The menu, in particular, might look all too familiar; like Buzz's, it also not very extensive (though it does have a few more options) and some of the burgers even bear the same name, such as the Western and Sunrise. However, their dozen or so burgers, as well as their handful of sides, sausages, salad, and loco moco, are rather appealing. What's more, they have quite a few substitute options, if needed (non-Gluten bun, Lettuce Wrap, and non-beef proteins, like Beyond, Chicken, and Turkey). -- ONION RINGS...$4.25 (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/native-burger-san-francisco?select=CZPIXKbjXXr5f4CIbhvxsQ) These aren't the best I've had, but after not having legit onion rings in ages, I thought these were terrific! The rings were crispy, not overly battered, and were cut fairly thick. It doesn't come with dipping sauce, but they happily gave me a side of ranch for free. -- NATIVE BURGER - 7oz Harris Ranch Grass Fed Beef, 4oz Applewood Smoked "Fool's Gold" Bacon, Sunny Farms Cheddar, Lettuce, Tomato, and House BBQ Sauce on a Brioche Bun...$15.75 (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/native-burger-san-francisco?select=oO0R4x--7xnJogswYsQQYw) More solid than spectacular, but still quite tasty! The patty was well cooked, I LOVED the bacon's salty sweetness, and everything complemented each other really well. That being said, whether it be due to the patty, the bacon, or both, the burger, as a whole, felt a little greasy. -- JR. CLASSIC BURGER & FRIES - 4oz Harris Ranch Grass Fed Beef, Sunny Farms Cheddar, Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onions, Pringle Cut Dill Pickles, and House Island Sauce on a Brioche Bun with Twice Fried Fries...$11.25 (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/native-burger-san-francisco?select=NVxYPDZqcLlRGXo2T0LMJg) This was...pretty awesome. Not only is the burger the perfect size, but it was done so well - juicy patty, a soft, toasted bun, and fresh veggies. As for the fries, they were far better than the garlic version. All together, this feels like a terrific value for what you get! -- GARLIC FRIES...$4.50 (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/native-burger-san-francisco?select=T-z4tiVho0kC0LNNsUox6w) Meh. These fries were also very crispy, and the portion was decent, but the taste was underwhelming. Not only was it not very garlicky/lacking in garlic, but there wasn't much else to it either - no herbs, no cheese, not much seasoning. It has potential, but disappointed as is. -- LOCO MOCO - Two Range Free Eggs, 7oz Grass Fed Harris Ranch Beef, and Housemade Gravy Over Jasmine Rice...$12.25 (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/native-burger-san-francisco?select=GxkLRFJlOoRH5xs2s0-KcQ) Are they to blame for this one or am I for ordering it? Not surprisingly, the patties were the best part, as they were both juicy and flavorful. Everything else, other then the eggs, was a bust - the onions were mealy, the rice was hard, and the gravy was gloppy and broken. While most of what I've had has been more good than bad, the service here has been excellent all around. Every time I've stopped in, the same two guys have been working the register and grill and they've always been super friendly. They've happily given us ranch for the onion rings and garlic fries (much needed for the latter) and they're quick to greet people/say goodbye as folks come and go. Tasty burgers, friendly service, and a wealth of parking nearby? Super Duper's newest outpost is a short walk away, but it's great to know that Native is just as good as my former go-to spot!

Always gotta be careful when you proclaim something as the "best". My only fighting words that I will kick my flip flops off for? In-N-Out. IMO, they make the best burgers in its price category. Now, if someone can sell McD fries outside, that would be a winning combo! After a nearby vet appointment, I was too lazy to drive 30 minutes to the nearest In-N-Out location. Yelp came to the rescue with Native Burger, a small, locally-owned burger joint (formerly Buzz). What sold me is that Native Burger is owned by a unicorn, an SF native so had to come and support! Unfortunately, my experience didn't align with all the raving 5 star reviews so I probably visited on an off day. And, in no way am I comparing this locally-owned business to a fast-food chain like In-N-Out. Native Burger is open for takeout, delivery, indoor dining, and outdoor dining (sidewalk and parklet). M E N U Burgers (Harris Ranch grass-fed beef patties), Sausages, Loco Moco, Salads, and Sides (fries, brussel sprouts, onion rings, etc). You can sub for a Beyond burger patty and GF bread for a surcharge. Chicken and turkey also available. Bottled drinks and beer on tap available. For the city, wallet-friendly pricing with burgers starting at $9.95. F O O D * All American Burger w/ 7 oz Harris ranch grass fed beef patty, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, red onions, pringle cut dill pickles, house Island sauce, brioche bun ($9.95): https://tinyurl.com/3hu6syec ***Requested rare. While the burger looked good with a nice seared patty, the patty (medium rare) and bun (barely toasted) were dry. After taking several bites, I lifted up the bun to find that the house island sauce was missing. I went inside and they gave me a side of the sauce which helped give the burger some moisture but TBH, it was still pretty underwhelming. * The Sunrise Burger w/ 7 oz Harris ranch grass fed beef patty, cheddar cheese, grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, free-range egg, avocado, sweet chili sauce, brioche bun ($12.75): https://tinyurl.com/2ywsunx6 ***Requested rare. ***Add extra patty (+$4.50) ***Add fool's gold bacon (+$4.75). Missing. Not my burger. Thank you for making an unseasoned beef patty upon request! * Fried Brussel Sprouts ($6.95) To be little healthier, I ordered the brussel sprouts as a side. It was soggy and too sweet. * Fries ($3.95) Fav item! Hot, golden, and crunchy. S E R V I C E Very kind staff. Our order was brought outside to us in about 15 minutes. A M B I A N C E Casual neighborhood burger joint with an open kitchen with counter seating and picnic tables in the back. Yay for dog-friendly outdoor seating. Found a space right away during primetime dinner time on a weekday. Overall, my burger and side didn't hit for me but it was probably an off day. If I'm in the area again, I would be down to give Native Burger another try in hopes to have a better experience next time!

Food: Something to note is that I don't like burgers that much, so I thought this was okay. It tastes like a burger. If you are a burger lover, this is probably the place for you, so take my review with a grain of salt. Either way, I thought that the burger looked really yummy, especially the bun. I also only had the All American Burger, so that is what I am commenting on. I just wanted to show you other burgers that my party got because I think they look good. The garlic fries taste better than they look, but I think it was a little bit sweet. Very little. I liked them, but I love fries. Service: It was okay. You pay first and then they give you your food. I don't think there is much to say about this. Ambience: We were the only ones there, but I like how the place feels and looks.

I am not a burger person and this is definitely my favorite burger place in the city! The staff here is nice, the service is great and their burgers are fire!!! I also love their Jalapeño poppers and onion rings the most. They also have great vegetarian options, my favorite burger to order is actually their Beyond Burger because its tasty and doesn't leave you feeling too heavy after! They also serve some bottle beers here, and wine!

It's convenitly located on the first floor right inside the window, so you can miss it. There were a couple other food vendors down there, including a full bar, and they were playing some World Cuo matches, which was a nice touch. Making a burger choice was tough, but I went with the double OG, which did not let me down. The lace was crispy, and the flavor combination of the ingredients was perfect. It was a top smash burger in the bay, and I'd def go again if in the area.

"Smish Smash I was taking a bath, long about a Wednesday night, yeah!!!" Okay I'm no Bobby Darin,…read morebut I am quite the aspiring burger aficionado and the smash burgers being handcrafted at Smish Smash are some of the best and most affordable in the entire city of San Francisco! And when Food & Wine Magazine calls this burger one of the most exciting in the U.S., I for one was implored to take notice and visit! Located on the first floor of Saluhall on Market Street in downtown San Francisco next to the IKEA store, Smish Smash started as a pop-up six years ago by owners Am y Han and Victor Donado. Just last year they opened their first stand-alone location on the first floor of Saluhall, which to be quite honest has struggled to keep their other vendors open. Thankfully, Smish Smash has had the benefit of being on the first floor with a view of Market Street, not to mention a great word of mouth thanks to their exceptional smashed burgers that has not only many burger lovers coming in, but quite the number of delivery drivers coming in to pick up burger orders galore. What brought me here to Smish Smash was the fact that a friend and I had theatre tickets at the nearby Golden Gate Theatre and we decided that we needed something quick and delicious before we walked back to the theatre to sit for almost three hours of a show. They suggested that we try this amazing and fun burger concept that was garnering significant buzz and so meeting up at Saluhall was the way to go as they had complimentary WiFi access and plenty of clean and open seating. The menu at Smish Smash is of course filled with burger options with no fewer than seven on their regular menu and a rotating special menu items including items with chili on them including fries, hot dog, and chili in a bowl, not to mention a couple of extra burgers to boot. Each of their burgers on their regular menu has the option of ordering it as a single or double smash burger. Since it was my first time, I ordered a single version of their Cheeseboiga, which had yellow American cheese, pickles, caramelized onions, and mac sauce. My dining mate ordered a single version of their Wow Burger which was topped with white American cheese, grilled onions, pickles, and s2 sauce, which is a combination of mayonnaise and relish, with an order of a side of Curly Fries which were cooked in beef tallow, our total bill was 33 dollars before taxes and gratuity were added in. It wouldn't take too long for our order to be custom made by their team and we enjoyed every last bite while sitting at their communal dining inside the Saluhall. The most noticeable thing that I noticed about the smash burgers at Smish Smash was the fact how thin their smashed burgers were, almost paper like thinness, which made for a unique dining experience. But what was lacking in overall heft of the burger was more than made up in terms of overall juiciness and flavor of my overall burger, of which came out clear on the grease and flavor on my fingertips as I ate every last bite. So good was my experience at Smish Smash that a return visit mere a couple of months later was in order when I attended a show at the nearby Orpheum Theatre. With complimentary WiFi and water available to customers, this time I ordered their Smish Smash Special which was their Dac Biet smash burger which was their signature grass-fed smashed beef topped with white American cheese, sliced onions, jalapeños, cilantro, Thai basil, alfalfa sprouts, lime and pho aioli. This particular smash burger, which cost 16 dollars, was a little on the healthier side as the sprouts, onions, and cilantro overpowered everything, but the flavor profile did make it feel as if I was enjoying a bowl filled with pho noodles with all the fixings. I appreciate what Smish Smash is trying to do, as an up and coming entrepreneurial business from pop-up to permanent business in an area that could seriously use the support, I am all in with what Smish Smash is offering up on a daily basis, good affordable trendy smash burgers that makes burger lovers coming back for more and then some! Then there are smash burgers which has been the craze for a few years already. Then there are burgers known for their sauce like the animal style sauce at In-N-Out . Burgers in SF can get cheesy . Everybody has any reason to say it's a better burger whether it's for the purple onions, pickles , or buns. There is a place which serves the Cali Burger. On a West Portal stroll there is a burger place which sells the Cali Burger. The Cali Burger means fresher ingredients usually locally sourced in California. Calibur is the place to get an organic grass fed burger. I got the double cheese burger with Calibur sauce. It was tasty and it had great flavor along with a soft bun. The fresh grass fed cheese burger pairs well to eat with cheese fries in SF. The fries were crispy and saucy and got a bit messy. Calibur also sells chili cheese dogs along with different flavors of shake including Neapolitan. Overall a good place to fresh grass fed cheese burger on a bun. You can get organic beef that's grass "fed"with Calibur sauce "spread" and a soft fresh bun "bread"although they don't have onion rings or purple onions you can get raw with yellow onions or the onions that are "red" The organic ingredients locally grown under the California "sun" get a grass fed cheeseburger medium or well "done" take a shot with Calibur and I ain't talking about a weapon like a "gun" but get something loaded with beef and cheese on a "bun"

Not sure if the cashier was not paying attention or if it was too big of an order, but a few of our burgers were messed up and missing things that we requested like grilled onions instead of raw and pickles. The burger was manageable. Although the sauces came on the side, the fries were cooked well. As we were eating, a line started to form. But instead of acknowledging them, a guy came out from the back with his hoodie on and focused on packing to-go orders. When he was done, we greeted them at the cashier. He did not look happy at all. It was a good try and it was my fiancee's fave spot once upon a time, but i don't understand what's so good about this place.

I'll be honest, nearly $18 for three tacos gave me pause. But my former roommate swore by these,…read moreand after one order of the Ahi Poke Crispy Tacos, I get it now. Sushi-grade ahi tuna, sliced avocado, green cabbage and cilantro slaw, green onions, toasted sesame seeds, and spicy mayo, all in crispy taco shells. On paper it reads like a fusion experiment that shouldn't work. In practice, it's surprisingly cohesive. The shells held up through delivery, the tuna tasted genuinely fresh, and the spicy mayo brought just enough heat to keep things interesting without overwhelming the fish. The avocado was generous too, which is worth calling out since that's exactly the ingredient a lot of places quietly skimp on. Three tacos were substantial. I was surprisingly full. Worth noting: they packaged these in a sturdy cardboard box that kept everything upright and intact. For tacos on DoorDash, that matters more than people think. Ahi tuna tacos aren't something you see every day, and that's the point. This is Gott's leaning into California roadside in the best way: quality sourcing, an unexpected creation, and execution that holds up even on DoorDash. I'm curious enough about the rest of the menu to go back. Four stars, with the caveat that the price-to-portion math only works if the quality is there, and from what I got, it is.

We decided to go to lunch at Gott's Roadside. It is my "go-to" spot when I am near the Chase Center! I love their big menus, the "big wordings", colorful deco, and there are lots of seatings in the inside/outside. I always order my usual, the Cali chicken without red onions and Jack cheese. I find it more healthier than the gourmet burgers that they have on the menu. The staff are always welcoming and friendly. They take their time to explain their menu and special. Their all gender bathrooms are always clean and the communal handwashing station are outside of the bathrooms. If you're ever in the Mission Bay Area and thinking of a gourmet burgers and fries or want a quick bite before going to a Warriors game/concert at the Chase Center, don't forget to stop by Gott's Roadside! Pro tip: Order online on their website or on major those food delivery apps for pick up to skip the crazy long lines during game days.
