Always loved coming to the Native New Yorker when In town. This time I brought my dad in and well it was one of the worst dining experiences. We never received our food after a 40 minute wait. I've been here several times because the food is great. I have an addiction to wings. But good GOD the service is slower than molasses.

1. I added pickled jalapeños to the loaded french fries and they added fresh jalapeños. 2. I added banana peppers to the meaty beast pizza and there was only like six peppers on it and I was charged two dollars for that. 3. The pizza was undercooked the crust was white and very soggy. 4. I ordered Half a pound of the boneless hot wings and when the server showed them to me they were burnt he apologized and placed a new order that took six minutes and they were also burnt not as bad as the first ones but burnt. When I got home and tasted them they tasted burnt. My husband and I visit this location frequently and we're very disappointed to receive this kind of service today. I will not go back here again. Ordered food to go online an hour before I wanted it ready. Got the the restaurant and waited an additional 20 minutes. The boneless wings were overcooked, dry and had no flavor. The bone in wings were very salty. The meatball sandwich was supposed to come with fries, which they forgot. We went on National Chicken Day for the $0.10 wings! It was super busy. We waited an hour and 45 minutes for a table. (I'm not complaining, I expected it.) The one thing I didn't like was the way the hostesses set things up and executed the wait list. They did not go outside when calling a party, and there were plenty of people outside. They often times didn't speak loud enough for anyone to hear unless someone said "what??" Then they repeated it louder. This created a cluster of confusion when people would check to see how much longer. I think this area could have been better trained and executed for a day that knowingly would be busy. This is one of the closest bars to where I live and have only been here a handful of time when it first opened. We stopped coming because of the cold wings and mediocre service. I was meeting some friends from out of town for a drink and they recommended Native New Yorker for close proximity to both of us. Well I can see that nothing has changed in the 4 years since I was last here. The service was very slow and we were only having drinks. It was the afternoon and only a couple tables occupied. HORRIBLE! I live near this place I hae been at least 4 times since it opened. The first time I went for carryout the food was good when it first opened. Each time after I went for dine in and the food and service get worst each time. Last visit service was horrible. The menu looks amazing until you order it. Theloaded fries cae out with burned cheese. The server never asked how was the food we had to go and find our own to go box as the server sat at a table nearby. I've only gotten to go's from here and every time I've ordered,something is screwed up. The staff was very friendly,but it took them almost half an hour to make me a SALAD. The wings are small and dry ( Chopstix down the plaza has amazing wings by the way.) I went in here once to have a few drinks and my boyfriend ordered a double Jack on the rocks. The server brings it over in a SHOT glass with 3 cubes of ice. As a bartender myself, I mentioned it to her and she blew me off. It must have been less than an ounce (which is highly illegal to under pour) We also got charged $9 dollars for it. Ridiculous. The manager seemed like he had a few drinks himself or on drugs or something. Went here to grab a couple drinks with friends, have a little grub and watch the hockey game. On UFC fight night, I was pleased to see the hockey game on at least one of the large screens. It was also nice seeing others there for the hockey game, although it was clear the vast majority were there for the UFC, which was aired withe the commentary cranked up. Oh well... . The beer selection is ok. Nothing great, but certainly better selections than standard Bud, Michelob, Coors. I had a Kilt Lifter and a Sam Adams. You can choose from a standard pint or a "tall", likely 20oz. The food menu does indeed look impressive, I have to say. Both of my friends thoroughly enjoyed their wings, although I did not try them for myself. The nacho plate is, well, stacked "skyscraper high", as they said. I had the mozzarella sticks, which were good. Standard greasy fare. As all our time was spent in the bar, I can't speak to the seated dining experience. But for a stop at a sports bar for a game, it proved to be a pretty standard experience. Service was meh, food was greasy, and the beer was cold and clear (although the do have draught Guiness). I've been here twice now and like how they separate the bar area from the restaurant. I watched the wildcats get to the World Series this year here and the atmosphere was great. The customers were nice and so were all the employees. They have bus boys working overtime there making lap after lap to make sure the bar stays nice and clean. I've tried the wings and a few different appetizers, all have been good. The bar tender put the game on the speakers per customer request without hesitation. Tuesday and Thursday 39 cent wing nights (39 cents each with required drink purchase). 25 cents in Phoenix? :( I only got wings (though a few were the size of drumettes). My friends actually got some drumettes. Coca-Cola products are $2.25. The hot sauce is more like a medium. The honey hot is more like hot temperature honey. The parmesan is awesome. The strawberry hot is interesting. The medium spice wings are more just like fried chicken with chili oil. At your table there is a half off appetizer special if you text a certain number. I don't think any of the appetizers are worth it. Go for the wings! The wings are well-cooked, so it is easy to eat everything except the two bones. I will be back! If you are coming from Tucson, take I-10. If you are for some reason coming from Oro Valley, it is a pain with all the 25-30 mph signs (changing every 200 meters). read more

I haven't even started writing and I already feel bad for this review. I'm going to be clear from the bat. I gave the review two stars because our server was cool and took care of us, but the food was pretty bad. I ordered a pound of boneless wings. Lemon Pepper and Medium, since they don't have a Mild Buffalo. The Lemmon Pepper wings were just alright. They actually tasted kinda like a pork chop (not a total loss, right?!) and didn't really tasted the lemon pepper until I started getting the juice off the plate. My medium wings were exactly that. Medium heat chicken. There was no buffalo taste to be found here. Good thing they had ranch. At some point during this adventure, my wife asked me to try one of her honey heat wings. Bad idea. These things cold. Like they made them and let them sit there somewhere in room temperature and then brush them with sauce straight from the fridge. I don't know, but if they advertise that they don't microwave their food here, then it is totally true! My daughter ordered the Mac and cheese and fruit. I'm trying to teach her the consequences of making crappy decisions, so I let her order it, but man! I'm honestly a huge fan of the Native franchise, our home location goes out of their way to provide exceptional service. We tried this location at a slow time, total of about 6 tables seated. We've got a four year old child, and he's mortified by MMA fights (as is his mom). We politely asked to be re-seated or have the channel changed on a single tv. The staff stated "sir, this is a sports bar, you have a choice in where your family dines." I replied, "I've never seen a catcher, linebacker, goalie, or tiger woods spit teeth after getting their face kicked in... thanks, we won't be back..." Very unfortunate the staff was rude, as it hurts the better franchise, we usually love. Our location at Irvington/I-19 has on several times changed the TV Chanel's for us for this same request.
