I've been in Natural Grocers before and came in this one because it was across the street from my eye Dr. I was looking for a few specialty items, I thought they may have. Let me start by saying I am not their target customer. I'm not sure who is but, they have several things that are useful that you don't see elsewhere these days A lot of all organic stuff including grains and flours that would make it easy if you bake with these things. Most of the other inventory seems very high priced. They have a huge section of homeopathic drops, ointments, tinctures,vitamins. nutritional supplements etc. I have often wondered if the folks that use all this and pay these very high prices are any healthier? Guess it couldn't hurt and more power to them. I grabbed a few things and was gone but...if you are inclined to increase your awareness of a healthier lifestyle, Natural Grocers may be the place you want to... Go! read more

3/1/24: I stopped here for the very first time, looking for a particular lotion for body pain. I found the products that I was looking for and decided to browse the store. The store was very clean and very well organized. There were lots of organic products and food. There was a great selection of dog treats. The vitamin section is pretty large. I met Staci, the manager, and she was very friendly and helpful. Preston, the cashier, was just as friendly, and I'm glad that I stopped by. Great customer service and a very nice variety of products. There was ample parking. read more

I just started shopping here a couple of weeks ago, I like all of the plant-based items that they offer as far as dairy alternatives, and crackers. They're fresh produce, seems to leave a lot to be desired. I realize organic, means no pesticides, but they're stuff on the shelf looks like it's been there for several weeks. Thank you, Natural Grocers, for being a normal company that doesn't force feed fear by demanding customers wear masks. I am unable to wear a mask due to the awful inflammatory rash it gave me which exacerbated my occipital neuralgia pain. Since the mask mandate has been lifted, I've been worried that I'll encounter total nut jobs that will go postal for seeing my smile in public. I don't have this issue at Natural Grocers. I'm taking all the money I used to give Whole Foods each week and giving it gratefully to Natural Grocers and Eatzi's where my liberty is respected. They made us feel welcome, no discrimination, or even abuse power like some other grocery store that feel the need to control everyone as if no one able to think for themselves anymore and also made it like they owned us. All of us as an adult, as parents, we should be able to make our own wise decision whether mask is good for us or just a show for others. Conforming is not the way to go. Amazing place to shop! It's amazing to actually have a place where you can get actual Organic produce and everything in the store can be trusted that they only let vendors with real ingredients be in their stores. None of their foods are sprayed with GMOs unlike most stores, when it's not Organic it's sprayed with chemicals that are harmful to your body, the body becomes weaker and more accessible to sickness. read more

The staff is friendly and efficient and their locations (various around the Dallas area) are always clean. They also make available $1 a minute chair massages for your convenience. If shopping in a store that honors mask wearing matters to you, I would not recommend this store. They have a sign on the door asking shoppers to wear masks but the store does not care if shoppers shop/check-out without wearing a mask. It's funny that the Yelp page states, "masks required," for this store when that is not the case, lol. In the end, it's deceptive to have signs on the store that trick customers into thinking this store cares about shopper safety when the employees have been informed by management not to do anything. Natural Grocers (Campbell), If you don't enforce mask-wearing, you should be honest and transparent about that by removing the signs mentioning mask safety and mask requirements. Otherwise, you're lieing to pretend otherwise. Potential shoppers have a right to know that before stepping inside this location. read more

I like this supermarket. But do I do all my shopping here? No. However, they do have some unique offerings. First, let me explain a bit about this store. It has a large vitamins department - maybe half of the store is focused on selling vitamins. The other half focuses on grocery products that hold to their strict standards for healthy eating. How strict? Stricter than Whole Foods and Sprouts - which is why they don't offer that much food to begin with since even in Whole Foods and Sprouts, you'd find ingredients that are simply not good for the health, and even ingredients that are banned in other countries (like some artificial colorings). So here are the things that they won't sell. Anything with: - Artificial colors - Artificial flavors - Artificial sweeteners (acesulfame K, aspartame, sucralose) - Bleached flours - Cloned animals/cloned animal dairy products - Fresh dairy products from confinement dairies - Fresh dairy products from cows given rBGH (recombinant BGH) - GMO (Genetically Modified Organism) salmon or any other GMO animal/seafood product - Hydrogenated and/or partially hydrogenated oils (AMEN!) - Irradiated food - MSG (Monosodium glutamate) - Non-organic produce - Olestra (a combination of soybean oil and sucrose) And with regards to meats, cows have to have grazed on pasture a minimum of 120 days during grazing season, and not be fed any GMO product. Chicken and other poultry are also required to have access to the outdoors and ample space. Same with pork. So basically, I like this place for two reasons: 1) better stringent standards of produce and grocery items than any other grocery store chain, and 2) takes a lot of the guess-working out in choosing grocery items when looking for something to eat without compromising health Does it mean that this place is perfect? No. They still have some items that contains carrageenan, a known carcinogen found in a lot of American grocery items. The limited produce here are ridiculously expensive. Price-wise though, they do have good deals on stuff that you'd go to Whole Foods (which also has overpriced produce) and Sprouts when it comes to refrigerated, frozen, and over the shelf items. Also, coupons can be had from the internet and in-store coupon books. And there's a loyalty program with kickbacks. And lastly, customer service here is top-notch. But if you're not a first-time customer, do remember to bring your own grocery bags. First-timers get a complimentary one, which I thought was a nice touch. read more

I love this store and everything it represents. Organic - if it's not organic, it's not there. That means if the fruit and veg aren't in season, it's not for sale. Knowledgeable staff - if you have a question, there's someone available to help who knows the products inside and out. They can give you detailed recommendations, and are also happy to let you shop if that's what you prefer. Price - affordable, much more so than Whole Foods. Selection - the store isn't large, but the selection is great. BYOB - bring your own BAGS. Talk about living what they preach for sustainable lifestyles. My only complaint? I used to work nearby and could stop after work or on my lunch hour. Now I have to make a special trip. Please, please, please build a store in Plano! read more

The most recent reviews are actually not going to stop me from shopping at this awesomeness of a health store. 1. Customer service is different from each day of the week depending on who is the manager on duty, weather or not they have a massive truck and what time an employee gets to start their shift. 2. Mask wearing is a mandate and not a law. They just ask if you wear one for everyone safety but are not enforcing it because they don't like to babysitting others while trying to stock your favorite items. I also like shopping there because I know that 100% certain the produce is organic. 3. I'm a regular customer and have been for a while and if you like a personal shopper, ask for Andrew!! Everyone here is very nice and friendly, and I'm glad (most of) the employees are wearing masks, but I wish there were more emphasis on having everyone wear them correctly. Two employees at this location were wearing their masks under their nose, defeating the purpose. I was relieved to see our cashier was wearing one, until she answered the phone and took it off to talk... Like many customers of Natural Grocers, I have an immune disorder. I try to get my groceries delivered as often as possible, but sometimes I can't wait until the next day for delivery and have to go into the store. I'm starting to feel like it isn't safe to do so anymore. read more

If you like all-natural grocery shopping, live close by, and dislike the prices of Whole Foods, this is your place. My co-worker absolutely loves the place and is afraid it will close, so she took 10 women from my office to see it during lunch yesterday. I felt like I was on a jr. high field trip. :) Natural Grocers is pretty small, which is great if you like to shop quickly and know your options inside and out. Their sale prices are awesome, and you kind find affordable versions of acai juice, free-range meat and eggs, organic cereal, chips, and cookies.... etc..etc. All in all, a pretty fun place. I used to like shopping here at least twice a week since they relocated to this location years ago. The customer service has lacked so much lately. It's an odd environment now, not very clean and there is only 1 cashier that's ever available. There's a super friendly cashier I love here and I forgot his name..he's been there for a while, has curly hair and is extremely sweet and helpful. He's really the only friendly, upbeat helpful person there. Just a heads up, if masks are important to you, they couldn't care less if you wear one or not. They have also given up on sanitizing carts or making sure sanitation is a factor at all. They may be just short staffed in general. I was a clean freak way before Covid so the sanitation/ cleanliness part is important to me. I'll go to Whole Foods closer to my house. Would rather spend a few dollars more and feel like they give a crap about cleanliness and me as a loyal customer. read more

I love this place. I had to check this place out after reading the Yelp reviews. I went there and they have everything a health nut like me would want -- bison meat, organic free range chicken w/o anti-biotics at reasonable prices, etc. They also protein mixes with no soy or sugars which is really nice since most of the mixes I have tried are a bit sugary. The people I inquired with seem to be unknowledgeable about the inventory they carry. One lady did not use milk products and others never used the protein supplements. They have information on seminars for living a healthier life in fliers. This place has a good policy of no plastic bags too, none. The prices are not too high like Whloecheck and do not have the tasty free samples, but if I want Wholecheck I can go down there any time. Support locally owned and locally grown please. read more

Natural Grocers tries to sell itself as a supplement store with a small organic grocery store attached. I come to this place any time I need something in the way of natural supplements that I cannot get at a normal grocery store. Between Natural Grocers and the Sprouts store that's at the same intersection I can get just about anything that Whole Foods offers without the ridiculous Whole Foods markup. Their primary focus seems to be supplements, as almost half the store is stocked with supplements. Another 30% of the store is prepackaged goods. Like Whole Foods they adhere strictly to the "no artificial ingredients" mantra. They have prepackaged meats, bread, and dairy products. There is also a small fresh produce section. It's alright for basic stuff, but it can't really replace the fully-staffed deli and bakery at a large grocery store. The store is kept clean, and the atmosphere has that familiar health food store smell to it, except on the spice isle where there's an overwhelming scent of pepper, curries, and anything else that'll make you nose itch. They don't have any decorations on the wall, instead focusing on the products. They don't give you free bags, but they will get some leftover cardboard boxes to put your groceries in. They also have reusable cloth bags they can sell you, or you can bring your own. If you're not prepared beforehand this can be a little bit of a hassle. I usually keep a few reusable bags in my car just in case. The employees are always helpful, and will take product requests for special items. read more

Brand new hippy food store in my neighborhood in Richardson. Great alternative to Whole Foods. Some items 10-20% cheaper. Some 10-20% more expensive. I will have to watch the prices in order to figure out which products to purchase at which store. This Natural Grocer is more heavily weighted towards vitamins and supplements. I'd estimate that the vitamin section takes up 40% of the store's floorplan vs. 2 aisles at Whole Foods. Good selection of wheat free/gluten free products. No butcher's counter, but good selection of prepackaged meats including exotics such as buffalo hotdogs and ostrich steaks. read more

I'm digging this place more and more but I never see many people inside so I'm affraid it may not last long. Part of the draw for me is the lack of traffic in the isles. The staff is always friendly and helpful and the selection is decent. I don't think they compare to a Whole Foods in terms of selection but they are open to special orders so you can always get what you need even if it isn't on one of the shelves. If you go be sure to bring your own reusable bag. They DO NOT offer paper or plastic. You can get boxes, etc but they encourage the use of reusables so be prepared. read more

It feels more vitaminy than grocery although they have some of each. I went looking for a specific kind of yeast. They didn't have it but the young man who was working went above and beyond to try to find what we needed. We ended up with some organic hot dogs and buns and some aluminum-free deodorant. I am a big fan of Natural Grocers located in Far North Dallas on Campbell / Coit even though I live way closer to the Whole Foods further south of Coit. I still make the extra trip whenever possible. Here's why ... 1. The produce at NG is ALL ORGANIC (thank you!) 2. Their prices on ORGANIC produce is way cheaper than WF 3. I snatch up the perfectly ripe organic bananas at .10# and freeze them to use in blended drinks 4. It reminds me of health food stores in the 70's that I loved in Colorado. Call me sentimental. 5. The aisles are wide, the lighting is great, it's easy to find and see their products and there's not a bunch of distracting and random stuff that overstimulates. I can go in with my list, get my stuff, fill up my reusable bag and put the rest in a box if need be, and then I am outta there! 6. They've got a decent selection of raw and gluten free items. 7. I look forward to their advertising supplement in our newspaper with sale items and good health info. The great thing about living in a major city is that we continue to have great options, no matter what your preferences are -- and Natural Grocers is a welcome grocery/healthy food option for those of us who live north of 635. read more

I bought a bottle of Almond Extract from the Natural Grocers on Campbell Rd. in Richardson, TX. I purchased it over 2 months ago and just needed it to make cookies for the Christmas holiday. I noticed there wasn't a protective seal on it and took it back. However, they would not let me return it or give me a refund because it was over 30 days. I told the manager everyone doesn't use a product in 30 days and it wasn't good customer service and I will not return to their store. After searching multiple stores in the area, my co-worker could not find anyone who carried the not-from-concentrate unsweeted grapefruit juice that she had found on her last trip home. So she came here and they gladly ordered it for her {extra star for this, sprouts & whole foods refused to order the product}. One day, she brought one of the bottles to me. Now she has me hooked on the stuff. So, one night after work I came by here to buy some... only to find out they had been closed for nearly an hour. Seriously? it wasn't even dark outside yet. Then I read the sign. Open 9:56am Close 8:04pm. Um, WHAT? I finally made it there one day when they were open. Is it just me or does this place SMELL? I walked around, didn't see much of anything but the grapefruit juice I wanted and then got out of there. Think I might just give my co-worker the cash and have her bring me a few jars when she goes shopping. read more

I used to patronize the NG in Lakewood/Dallas and usually had good customer service which is what I expected at this location. I've been here twice now and was HIGHLY disappointed in the employees. It's important to feel like you're welcome and cared for when you're spending more money and some times going out of your way to shop here. This store appears poorly run and I won't be surprised to see it go under soon. We keep trying to love this place. However three times now we have had to return items, expired, molded, etc. Most recently was molded cheese. Expiration date was still 45 days away, so it appears that they may have refrigeration issues. Additionally, we have found their produce to be hit or miss from a freshness and quality perspective. I don't know where these guys have been all my life! The Coit and Campbell is the first Dallas location of this family-owned, been-in-business for 55-years store. It is the original natural grocery store! A new location is at Preston Forest and is also a joy for shopping. i also just learned that this spring, Natural Grocers will be opening in the movie theater at Casa Linda. All organic produce, natural and organic groceries and body products (including wonderful cosmetics) and a huge supplement and vitamin department. And..... they know what they are talking about! They also have fab gluten-free selection-- maybe the biggest I have seen. I also discovered this delicious drinkable yogurt called Three Happy Cows-- locally made in Dallas. I just went to Natural Grocers for the first time, even though I've lived in the neighborhood for years. I was really hopeful, in spite of the fact that my husband said the products were pricey. I'm willing to pay more money for good organic products. However, my first experience made me leave here frustrated. I needed help finding something in the dairy area, and the woman stocking the eggs treated me like I was somewhat of a nuisance. Another employee did the same thing, foisting me off to some other person by merely pointing. She turned out to be a cashier, and audibly sighed when I told her I was a new customer and asked if I could sign up for their frequent customer program. She'd told me not to bother with putting my phone number in, even though she knew it was my first time there and I was interested in signing up for the discount program. She was more worried about the one person behind me waiting in line. Yep, I probably won't be coming here again. Pretty sad because the store is stocked with some nice little items that are tailored toward my allergies. read more
