Located in the basement of an office building along with a handful of other fast casual restaurants like Chipotle, Chopt, Inday, Maki Maki, Playa Bowls and Brasa Peruvian Kitchen--Naya is a delicious choice to add to a lunch rotation. In the past several years they've expanded their presence around Manhattan and their success lies in providing consistently tasty Lebanese-inspired, Middle Eastern/Mediterranean style dishes in an easily understandable bowl format. While not my first time trying Naya, this was the first time I've ordered from this location and I was happy overall with the food I got! The cucumber tomato salad was on point, the pickled red cabbage was briny in a good way, the hummus and baba ghanoush were creamy and flavorful. The falafel unfortunately were on the denser, drier side though not completely inedible, I had to take a bite of it with other items. Portion-wise the bowl was enough for a meal and a half for me. The staff was helpful at this location, I ordered online then when I came to pick up I was a little early and didn't see my order on the pick up shelves. This NAYA express is located in 1 New York Plaza. The current hours of operation are the following Monday - Thursday: 10:30 A.M - 8:00 P.M Friday: 10:30 A.M - 5:00 P.M Saturday and Sunday: Closed NAYA offers middle eastern flavors. You can create your own bowl, wrap, or salad! It's all custom build and all of the ingredients are fresh! You can choose your own base between rice, quinoa, lettuce, green, or a wrap. I ended up choosing build my own bowl, with a vermicelli rice base. For proteins, I ended up choosing the chicken kebab, but you could also choose chicken shawarma, beef shawarma, lamb, falafel, or even cauliflower! The other ingredients I added was hummus, cucumbers, tomatoes, and extra feta cheese! Pita bread was offered as a side too! Bags and utensils were provided to go. The service was quick and easy! I was the only customer inside NAYA at the time. There was plenty of table seating inside the restaurant though! My hotel was located right next to NAYA! The chicken kebab was soooo yummy!! It was perfectly grilled and had just the right amount of char on the chicken! It was also super tender too! The hummus was a great addition with the rice! Previous to visiting NAYA, my friend, boyfriend, and I had a Middle Eastern brunch at Cafe Mogador. Considering how delicious our brunch was, I guess I set my expectations too high for NAYA. While portion sizes were appropriate, I just didn't feel fully satisfied from this meal. If I can compare them to anywhere, they are almost like the Middle Eastern counterpart to Chipotle - but, dare I say, actually better tasting!! I've only been to Naya a few times as of now, but each meal has been more delicious than the previous. The main entrees here are the Naya Roll, Naya Bowl or Naya Salad. For their rolls, they have a menu of items with already hand-picked ingredients, but if you're feeling more "adventurous" you can build your own roll, bowl or salad. Every time I've eaten from here, I've gone the custom route and, honestly, there isn't much difficulty to the ordering process. As with most assembly-line restaurants, you first have to pick your base, then you choose your protein and you finish it off with your toppings. Viola. That's it. Of course, the ingredients will be comprised of Middle Eastern ingredients and they are all DELICIOUS. Personally, I always love getting the bowl and it is ridiculously filling. For the bowl, first, you have to choose between Vermicelli Rice or Freekah (if you don't know what Freekah is definitely google it.) Next, you have a number of proteins to choose from. You cannot go wrong with the Chicken Shawarma or Falafel here. Lastly, you choose your toppings, and there are PLENTY to choose from. If you're not sure which one to choose - well, you can choose them all at no additional cost! That is all there is to it. Also, don't forget to ask for your free pita too. Tried Naya for the first time and it did not disappoint. The portion size was big and service was good. Placed my order online and order was ready for pick up when I went into the store. Not a big fan of the pita bread. This store is close to the Staten Island Ferry so you can order for pick up and hop on the ferry which is very convenient. Not sure if this is normal but the two bowls I got had a very oily bottom which caused the takeout bag to be oily and there were sauces all over the outside of the bag so it made my jacket dirty. With limited options around this block on 2nd Avenue, NAYA is a true standout. However, the one thing I will caution is the cramped space at the front of the restaurant. I'd recommend coming here for date night or quick catch up with a friend but would not suggest coming in a bigger group. The hommus comes in a large serving so definitely get one of these. If you go into the basement of One New York Plaza between the hours of 12-1pm, you're going to see this giant line that snakes around several columns. The line will always be for Naya. And I get it - the food is really good. It's some of the best chicken shawarma that I've had outside of Dearborn. They give you a lot of food. If you get a rice bowl, it's packed with sauces and veggies. The line may look intimidating, but it always goes by fast. It's essentially a Chipotle, but with Mediterranean food instead. My favorite is the chicken shawarma with garlic sauce and hummus on top of rice. I love that their rice has fried vermicelli in it! Service has always been friendly and quick. You're definitely in-and-out within 15 minutes if you're there during the lunch rush. read more

We visited NY with my wife and parents, and this is the place that Yelp suggested right when we got off Stratten Island Ferry. It has been about 10 years since I left NY, and I know a lot has changed. Keeping that in mind, Naya managed to keep the prices manageable while serving good food. We hit up this spot with only having 15 minutes waiting for our ferry. I was pleasantly surprised! I got the chicken wrap ( I wish I had taken a pic but was in a hurry) it was very good and filling! My man got the steak, which I found to be more flavorful, but you can't go wrong either way. We got a side of 3 falafels... they were dry and needed some kind of sauce, which we didn't have.
