I'll admit, I was pretty nervous going in since I hadn't had a haircut in years. My hair is straight, flat, and typically hard to style, and I was hoping to add some volume and soft curls but wasn't sure what would actually work. Hanh immediately put me at ease with her warm, funny, and welcoming personality. She's genuinely so kind. During the consultation, she really took the time to understand what I wanted and helped refine my ideas into something even better. I walked away feeling confident and excited instead of anxious. I showed her a few inspiration photos, and she didn't just match them--she completely exceeded them. She absolutely nailed the look, even better than I imagined. I rarely write reviews, but this experience truly deserved one. I'll definitely be coming back to her again!

And not in a good way, it looks like overgrown roots and it looks like a harsh line where my roots meet the dyed part. I captioned the pictures to see what my hair looked like before the appointment and what I left with... Why would she darken it and tell me to come back in a few weeks to lighten it???? Thanks to Yelp, I decided to give Shenanigans a try and booked an appt w/ Angela…read more Scheduling an appt was super easy and I initially was looking into Gray blending or something similar to better control my grays. Angela was pretty booked for color, so I scheduled a haircut with her first to get in a bit sooner and see if she would be a good fit for me. Before my appt, I also sent photos of my Inspiration haircolors/styles via text and in turn, she had me send her current pics of my hair and a summary of my color history. What I loved and appreciated was Angela's honesty and frankness. She didn't sugar coat anything and based on photos alone questioned if my hair was even healthy enough to withstand another bleach transformation to achieve the look of my inspiration pics. On the day of my haircut appt- she assessed the damage and confirmed my hair wasn't healthy enough at that time to get the results I was looking for with color and it would probably break if I bleached it again this soon. Not what I wanted to hear- but it is what it is...and I had consulted with another stylist prior at a different salon who essentially said the same thing. Angela spent a long time with me listening to my hair goals and examining my hair and we came up with a game plan focused on improving the health of my hair in preparation for my Inspiration pics. Loved the haircut and the vibes w/ Angela and the salon so I excitedly scheduled an appt a month out for the color. What Angela did was amazing! The brassiness/orange/warm tones disappeared, my grays were gone, and with a B3 treatment felt soft, healthy and had amazing shine. I was so impressed I booked her for the same thing again! I am beyond thrilled to have found a new salon and stylist with Angela at Shenanigans. She is super kind, professional, on time, upfront and talented. Shenanigans is right off the 91 frwy in a small strip mall with a mexican restaurant and Farmer Boys restaurant. The salon is clean, huge, and with alot of natural lighting. The other stylists and staff were all very professional, welcoming and friendly as well. I mentioned upfront that I had extensions, and later they said they wouldn't have time and rescheduled me to 1:15 PM. When I called again to confirm, just minutes before my appointment, they tried to push me back again to 2:45 PM. After I said that was too late, they offered 1:45 PM instead. I arrived at 1:50 PM, and at that point they told me I could no longer receive the service because I was "late." This was extremely frustrating considering they had already tried to reschedule me twice and were running behind themselves. The stylist and front desk staff seemed visibly annoyed when I brought this up and shifted the blame onto me, saying my timing would disrupt their schedule. As someone who also works in the service industry, this is not how you treat clients--especially when the inconvenience was caused on your end. To make matters worse, they quoted $80 for a 20-minute curl service, which felt excessive given the experience and lack of professionalism. Overall, the communication, customer service, and accountability were very poor. I left feeling uncomfortable and undervalued as a client. I would not recommend this location based on my experience.
