These guys are fantastic! My roommate spilled milk on my laptop last week and the keyboard started having all kinds of issues. I took it in to NC Tech and they told me they could order a new keyboard and replace it for $75 total! Another place I took it to estimated $180 or more, and when I called the computer manufacturer, they told me it could be upwards of $300. NC Tech finished the job 2 days before they had told me they would and I'm now happily using my own computer again! The shop isn't anything fancy; it's literally in the back door of a nail salon. It's also cash only. They are friendly, but didn't have great English speaking skills. That being said, they know what they're doing when it comes to computer repair and charge less than anywhere else I've found. I will admit that *I* messed up and didn't look far enough into their location (they ARE inside a nail salon on 4745 University Ave), but I AM glad I went back for another look! These guys had my laptop fixed within two days [as promised] and for only $100. They know what they're doing and they're reasonably priced! I got the recommendation off of Yelp! too and am glad that I went to see 'em. They fix your equipment, tell you what was wrong with it to begin with, and make sure it works before you leave. UPDATE 9/6/15: The person that I referred to in the original review as the owner is in fact not the owner but just an employee. I stand by my previous review of the EMPLOYEE. The owner worked hard to reach a resolution that was amicable for both parties. ORIGNAL REVIEW 8/30/15 Stay away from this place. Took my two year old desktop in here based on the excellent reviews. The owner doesn't understand the difference between software versus hardware issues. I suspected a hardware problem, told him to check hardware, called me back same day telling me he fixed it. He told me it was an OS issue. Which made no sense to me based on the symptoms. Challenged him on it, kept being told software. I had never agreed to the fix in the first place, just the diagnostic. Never got a quote after specficly telling him to let me know what was wrong with it before proceeding. But hey he fixed it for only 30 bucks so what was the harm. My thought process was if it fails again then I take it back since I was only spending 30 bucks. And take it back I did, within an hour of taking it home, it blue screened on me. Again told that it was the software I was installing. No charge for the second fix. Day 3 computer will not boot. Had my dad take it back to him since dad wanted to fix it to save money versus buying a new computer. I on the other had had come to the conclusion that this guy was horrible at diagnostic. My dad takes it in. Without me and was going to deal with the owner since I had been main contact person. He tells him at least twice to just diagnose and not perform any work until he, as the customer agreed to the fix. A day later owner called back and said it was the video card so he had REPLACED the video card. Oh by the way, he did not call to get the OK from my dad to do the work. He was only supposed to diagnose. This time it was 75. My dad pays it. Get it home and take it back 5 mins later since it will not boot. Some KB error. He had replaced the graphics card and told him to use the integrated graphics for better performance. If you know one thing about computers, a discrete GPU is always better then the onboard graphics. Also he did not provide documentation such as a receipt on the card he installed. So as of this writing, it is back at his shop. read more

NCTC arranged to do a remote log-on through TeamViewer, at 5a, to accommodate a busy schedule. He then turned my office into an operating room, with the precision of a world-class surgeon. He was able to first save everything to give me comfort that no matter what went wrong, the patient would live, and then he went to work figuring out in real time exactly what the architect had in mind. I watched as he became fluent in this ancient proprietary language within 30 minutes, and then proceed to rewrite and update 16 documents and templates. He then made me test each one and make sure I knew what the hell to do going forward. It was breathtaking. He is intuitive, he is tech genius.
