Lollipop and Pops is a beautiful shop with great curb appeal, or rather "mall" appeal, since they…read moreare located in Washington Square. So cute, like the name, I had to wonder in. Inside is bright, with sherbet colored green walls, lots of shelves and tables stocked with beautifully wrapped candy, gift assortments, boxes of chocolates, novelty candy, gummies, lollipop, and even candy from around the world, including a large variety of Asian candies. For those wanting just an individual piece of chocolate or wanting to create a custom purchase, the counter holds individual pieces of a variety of chocolates. They have all the usual suspects - truffles, salted chocolate caramels, chocolate with nuts, cream filled and more. It was October, so there was a section dedicated to fall colors and Halloween, with candy coming in black cat boxes, candy that resembles an eyeball, witch, ghost, and of course, candy corn. Never understood the appeal of candy corn, you either love it or avoid it, but it's definitely representative of the season. Candy here is priced high, so it's more like a treat or gift, not an everyday purchase. Personally, I think they would be more profitable if they had a broader price range so it could be the candy store you always purchase something from while at the mall.

As many have said before, this place is pretty spendy but the stuff they sell all tastes delicious…read more It's always fun to window shop and ask about their products. The staff seemed extremely friendly and down-to-earth while having a lot of good suggestions on what would best fit our tastes. The shop itself has such cozy lighting and nice pastel paint, it's very welcoming and there's always something to look at.

Oh don't skip this shop. I know it's on a street of great…read morebougie shops but this one is charm upon charm: it's like walking into a grown-up candy store and finding wrapped bonbons that you want to try -- chocolates that are milk and dark -- all kinds of extraordinary flavors wrapped like truffles. Cherry cordials, pear cordials, apple cordials in chocolates. Caramel chocolates, chocolate caramels. Thing is it's hard for not to love the store because it has three of my favorite things: 1. chocolate: shelves and shelves of unique artisan chocolates made with skill and care from all over the world. 2. And salt -- am a VERY big fan of picking up local salts whenever one is traveling -- including actual blocks and blocks of Himalayan salt stacked. Not imitation but the real stuff. They even have fresh popcorn for you to taste the truffle salt with. 3. Lastly they have fresh cut flowers. It's like a florist and you can create your own bouquets. Beautiful specimens with structure and freshness. I have to say they also have bottles and bottles of bitters -- crafted bitters. King Floyd chief among them. The staff person was super helpful. She was kind and educational about many things.

The woman behind the counter was quite friendly. There was even popcorn to try with truffle salt on it. While there was nothing here that I ended up buying, it's a neat place to look around, especially if you're in the market for a salt lamp or some unique bitters as I think they had at least 50 if not a hundred different kinds.

We did the classic tasting without any add-ons except for mimosas while we were there. The highlights? We were raving about the vanilla scones (so simple, so good!), the meat pie, and the tea sandwiches. Every tea we selected was delicious and the pomegranate mimosas were a highlight for all of us. I encourage leaning into the theme, get dressed up, wear a fascinator, and fall into wonderland! Notes: reservations are highly encouraged due to limited space, so definitely make sure you reserve ahead of time! Allow extra time for parking - this is in the heart of downtown Beaverton and may require a little bit of a walk, but don't let that discourage you, keep circling and you'll find something, or settle for a nice little jaunt and enjoy the charm of downtown Beaverton.

What a fantastic gem this is!…read more Reservations are highly recommended and we had made one several months in advanced. We were in on a Saturday afternoon and nearly every table was occupied while we were there, yet it felt like we were the only table. The setting is very cool. There's so many hidden gems as you look around the space. Even down to their dinnerware and teapots. Each one unique and fun, enough to generate table conversations. Our server, Joey, was fantastic! He took the time to go over his favorite teas and answer any questions we had about ones we were interested in. I'm not a huge tea fan and I really enjoyed the one I got (birthday black tea-decaf). The food was so yummy! Our party were all so excited to try everything. The vanilla scone was the standout for me, but I did truly enjoy everything. My only caution is that parking can be a bit of a headache in the area so be aware ahead of time, but do not let that stop you from making a reservation for afternoon tea, it's worth it!
