The atmosphere was extremely open and cute. However, it was extremely frigid inside the shop itself. It was difficult to tell if it was colder outside or inside. The service we got was excellent, but we did get there pretty close to opening. we ordered two of the breakfast burritos, this is something that I would not get again it was a little bit more on the dry side. The espresso in the latte was good. However, the flavor of the syrup was all the way at the bottom so my last drink was extremely sweet. I think they may have a little bit of more expensive prices for their coffee, but I will say the overall extract was pretty good. I can't say that I will go back. read more

Sweet coffee shop hidden away in Costa Mesa. it took me a while to find with Google Maps but the address is correct. The parking lot is really small though so I recommend parking across the street with the Laundromat. You could try neighborhood parking as well. I love visiting here with my dog! They have great, rich coffee. The staff is super friendly and considerate as well. They also have great food items. This is a great place to spend a morning relaxing or working on school stuff. They're really friendly to dogs and my dogs love coming to meet the other dogs as well. They also have an outdoor dining area if you want to relax outside too. read more

Neat Coffee has been a coffee screenshot in my phone for 3 years already. At last, I was able to give Neat a try. Neat's location is kind of hidden and small. They do have their own building with parking spots available, no shared space. Their menu is simple, it honestly helps me from being very indecisive. My girl and I ordered an Iced Honey Cinnamon Latte and their seasonal Peanut Butter Cookie Latte both Breve (Half&Half). We have found that we prefer half and half instead of whole milk for our lattes. You could really taste Neat's espresso and syrups. I really like the indoor seating and decor, but I love their outdoor space - lots of picnic tables for seating, a space with toys for kiddos to play, and a ping pong table. My go-tos are the Baker Street for a hot drink, the Shakerato for an iced drink, any of the baked goods they offer, and their toasts. I typically get half-and-half toast with one pan con tomate and one avocado (the best avocado toast and the only one I've ever had that's worth the price). I especially love the community aspect that Neat and its owner/staff cultivate. There are great pop-ups, thoughtful events, and an incredibly fun weekly run club. I hate running. Absolutely hate it. I actually drove right on by the first time because the shop is tucked away in the middle of a neighborhood and the parking lot is small and hardly noticeable until you're driving past the lot entrance. Anyways, after circling around and parking nearby, I walked on over. The shop itself is clean and cute, and service was friendly. Sadly, the coffee itself was mediocre. I love specialty lattes and ended up ordering the peanut butter latte with oatmilk. Unfortunately I could hardly taste the espresso or the peanut butter so I had to ask for more PB flavor before heading out. I'm not sure if this was a one-off in how my latte was made that day, or if that's how it always is. Starting with the drinks, my typical order here is their Shakerato, which is espresso shaken with ice, maple, sea salt, and topped with oatmilk. TO. DIE. FOR. However, the amazing drinks you can get here are just the surface of how much I love this coffee shop. The service you get here is always so personal and genuine. Every time I have visited, I have always had a very pleasant and friendly interactions with the baristas. As someone with social anxiety, that means a lot to me! Although I haven't met her personally, I have also heard great things about the owner! Even though this place is pretty small, it can seat quite a bit of people! I went a couple times on rainy days, and the lobby pretty comfortably seated 25-ish people. There's also a lot of outdoor seating, which Id definitely recommend on a sunny day. This coffee shop also makes many efforts to connect with the community by holding movie nights, live music, and more. The only inconvenience is the super limited parking, but definitely worth walking the extra block if you need to! read more

Quaint little place I discovered today in Costa Mesa. After a morning workout I wanted some coffee, personally, I like to look to local coffee shops anywhere I am. I stopped by today for just a coffee, but I saw they had some food options and had to go with the classic avocado toast. Apparently the toast comes in a half size and a full size and I think the drinks only come in one size. The shop is on a side street and has a private, but small parking lot. I really liked the ambiance inside. The barista was super friendly. I really like seasonal drinks so I got really excited to see the menu of seasonal offerings for the month of October. I immediately gravitated towards the golden latte. It's got turmeric almond milk (didn't even know this existed!), espresso, honey and cinnamon. It was pretty frothy probably from the turmeric almond milk and got a tinge of sweetness from the spices. It was definitely a drink that made you full. I came here to study and noticed only a few plugs so you probably have to get here early for more space. There's also a backyard area that I didn't get to check out but would want to next time! I am always on the hunt for cafes in OC and have visited a wholeee lot, most of them are amazing. This one takes LAST place. :( I have actually tried to come here on multiple occasions and there is NEVER parking, not in their lot or on the street. Yesterday there was one spot open on the street so I went in. The inside is cute but (on Tuesday 9am...) packed with people, not a single seat available. I ordered an iced coffee from their speciality menu and honestly it was the worst thing I have ever drank. I do not know if it was their house made almond milk or the honey or whatever they put in it, but I couldn't even force myself to finish it. I literally threw away the $7 thing :') and I've never done that w a latte. It was so bad that I feel like maybe they even made it incorrectly or something I don't know...but even my sisters espresso was a bit cold? I don't know how it stays packed every week, really thought it would be a cool hidden gem but def not. Will not be coming back for sure and thank god cause parking is a nightmare lol. read more
