Very nice lunch. Keto so no rice or beans or tortilla, so the young lady working that part of the assembly line did double meat. Lunch today with a colleague. It's hard to go wrong with an $8 burrito if they're using quality ingredients and Neato Burrito is using quality. Leaps and bounds better than that other burrito place named after a pepper, this was quite delicious. Similar assembly-line technique though. Start at the top with "salad or burrito or bowl." They're currently out of Romaine due to the issues with suppliers, so salads are out. I got a bowl with pork. When I told the young lady behind the counter that I was doing keto so no rice and beans, she added more pork to it! Awesome! On to the toppings dude, who added two salsas and cucumbers and onions. Neato Burrito is awesome! It's a little piece of hipsterville in a bland suburban shopping center. Even the bathroom is neat! I got the Rodeo Burrito because it was the burrito of the day. It was just right--I didn't use any hot sauce. I attribute most of the taste to the rodeo sauce, which definitely added some calories. I have been a big fan of Neato Burrito for years! It's absolutely my favorite place to go for a burrito bowl. Initially with COVID, Neato was closed for a serious amount of time. They were really putting thought into how to keep their employees and community safe - something I really appreciate! Now, they've reopened takeout windows at most of their locations. Tips: Online ordering on their website is garbage. Sorry, but someone had to say it. The mobile app is slightly better and will at least let you order 30 minutes in advance (at least on Android, my iPhone friend was able to put hers in 90 minutes ahead). My takeout order was ready for pickup at the desired time and it was a simple and safe handoff. I also like how the order form let's you request plastic ware or say you don't need it - I appreciate their effort to keep plastic out of landfills. My most recent order was slightly flubbed (should have had ranch and instead had sour cream) but it was still really yummy. I definitely hope Neato sticks around through the COVID mess so we can get back to regular Cowboy Crunch-ing! read more

Just how good is Neato Burrito? If I ever commit some horrible crime that lands me on death row, I would love for a Cowboy Crunch to be my last meal. (Or if someone could smuggle in a nail file via a Cowboy Crunch prior to that, that would also be great.) The first couple times I went to NB, I had a custom chicken burrito, which was fine if unremarkable (largely due to my generally unadventurous taste palette). Then, during one fateful visit, my girlfriend gave me a bite of her gluten-free Cowboy Crunch, and I fell in love! This satisfying, all-in-one meal (like Snapple, "made from the best stuff on Earth!") has become a weekly fixture in my life, something I have yet to tire of. There is also a variety of "gourmet" tortillas for your tasting pleasure. Since moving to Mechanicsburg last September, I am closer than ever to this location, to the point where I wouldn't be surprised if the long-term staff think I have a serious problem (is there a "Neato Burrito Problem" hotline?). The ambiance of the place is very unique - the interior is very colorful, and I like the Christmas-ball style lights that hang overhead. The staff is of the the piercings/tattoos/ironic T-shirt variety, but the attitude is friendly and, above all, efficient. Now taking credit cards apparently, but not knowing for how long. They are doing it as a test to see if it changes things for them, however you wouldn't know it because the normal stickers that are placed on front doors weren't there yet, (possibly changed by now). While I can fully appreciate the wide variety and selection of burritos here, I have yet to find one that really does it for me. Reading over each one and they sound delicious, but the flavor just doesn't back up what I build up in my brain. The ingredients have always been fresh and I've never had a problem with burnt/raw/cold/undercooked meat or toppings. Maybe I'm just not a burrito person. Sixteen year old me stood, in the middle of a concert at a park in Harrisburg, famished. I explored the vendors that were present and decided on an upstart burrito joint named Neato Burrito. I ordered a burrito from them and after just one bite, I fell in love. Their burritos were gigantic and cheap. They were also delicious. For nearly twenty years every burrito I've eaten, be it from a hole-in-the-wall stand on the streets of Chicago or an upscale burrito boutique in Miami, is compared to this concert burrito experience. As my wife and I drove around making some last minute Christmas stops we passed a Neato Burrito. Feeling a bit nostalgic I guided us into a parking space and headed inside. It was time to see if this place could deliver the magic that has been building in my mind for the last two decades. The setup is similar to a Chipotle or Moe's in that a tortilla is sent down the line and different ingredients are added at each station. Unlike those other two places, Neato Burrito offers a number of different tortilla flavors to choose from. I went with the old normal flour version (mainly because I didn't want to pay extra). At the first ingredient station you are given a choice of rice (BBQ, brown, white) and beans (black, refried, Troeg's Beer Chili). I filled my burrito with brown rice and the beer chili (another cool addition that sets Neato Burrito apart from its competition). The next stop was the veggie and salsa station. Here I added zucchini, guacamole (extra cost) and salsa. Neato Burrito offers a salsa of the day which, during our visit, was an IPO version that included lime, chipotles and slow roasted tomatoes. That IPO just called my name. At this point they rolled my burrito, pressed it, and wrapped it in foil. My impressions of the burrito? It was as gigantic as I remembered. I liked the addition of the chili and the salsa. The guacamole didn't really do anything for this combination and the zucchini was cut too big to mesh with the other flavors. Both my wife and I felt our burrito was missing something. Some bit of added pizzaz to wow our taste buds. Most disappointing was that my burrito fell apart after a few bites and I was forced to finish it with a fork. That's not right, burritos should never be eaten with a fork. If you are a salsa and chip eater, Neato Burrito should probably be added to your regular rotation as I felt the chips were great. Nice and crispy without the greasy after effects. Neato Burrito serves a fine burrito but it doesn't deserve the extremely high pedestal that sixteen year old me placed it on. read more

Yum yum yum yum yum. I love me some Neato Burrito. In fact, I make it a point to stop at one of their locations each time I am in town visiting from New Jersey. You see, there are so many burrito places they offer such predictable fare and no real variety. Neato remains true to its California style roots by offer all of the staples, but then going beyond by offering several truly unique types of salsa, and on most days, a special burrito recipe. I many not personally like the salsas that have cucumbers and pineapple in them, but they do seem quite popular so I have to give a lot of credit. On the I do wish is that they would experiment around with other types of chips and cheese- I'm pretty sure that both of the above come right off of the Sysco truck- would really love to seem them make their own tortilla chips, and maybe find their own queso recipe. read more

This Neato burrito is open 11-3 and they are not allowing customers inside, they have a take out window. I wish they were open longer but I understand. I went with my boyfriend last Saturday and we both ordered a burrito. After we ordered they stopped taking orders at the window and only took mobile orders. I understand that this is COVID and all, but it took them 30 minutes to make our two burritos. Additionally they were tiny. Normally I go to the carlisle location (which has always been amazing, the burritos there are HUGE too) as it is closer to me but it is not yet open. I want to love it, really I do but I just don't. The decor is funky and fun, the food fresh and plentiful but it just seems to be lacking. The flavors seem to underwhelm me. The salsas can be watery - leaving the burrito a bit soggy. The chicken is good and I like the burrito bowls best. Neato Burrito will always hold a special place in my heart, and it's always one of the first places I stop when I come back to Mechanicsburg. The vibe is fun, the staff is (typically) friendly, and the food is consistently tasty. I especially recommend both the jalapeño cheese tortilla and the jalapeño feta salsa. (Can you tell I like jalapeño?) My biggest complaint is that options for vegetarians are quite limited: while you have the choice of "vegetarian" or "hummus," the vegetarian burrito comes with no more veggies than the meat varieties, and the hummus burrito excludes beans unless you pay extra. I'd love if Neato would add an option beyond the standard lettuce, tomato, onion, cucumber, jalapeño offerings, because now that I'm veg, my Neato Burritos don't seem nearly as substantial as they used to be. Tofu (a la Chipotle's sofritas,) zucchini, or even just peppers and potatoes would be all make wonderful, easy additions. read more

The burritos have not changed and that is a great thing! They care about the ingredients and obviously the owners have a passion about the product. I moved to NYC for 10 years then to NJ but every time I come back to visit my parents I make a point to stop. Nothing compares even in NYC. I have been to several locations of Neato Burrito. First I will say I used to work by this location so I tend to frequent this one more. A lot of people I know (and meet) say this is an expensive burrito. Usually about $9.50 for me buying a burrito and a beverage. Which allows me to have two meals. You could easily share a burrito with a friend or child. The spice it not overly hot and can easily be tolerated. And there are many choices of varying degrees. Now Neato Burrito has a lot of food options. So this means you have a wide window to pick good combinations and be satisfied. Of course, this also means you can go too crazy and not be satisfied. Where one can mess up?... choosing the wrong salsa, beans, and meat. Know what you don't like and choose accordingly. I have figured out that I like the chipolte chicken, refried beans, cheese, lettuce, tomato, sour cream or ranch dressing. I don't like the black beans as they tend to be dry. Spanish rice is my fav. (I always ask for light portions) I don't like the blackened seasoned rice nor barbeque rice. Because I don't like 'blackened' seasoning and I'm not a fan of Barbeque sauce. Salsas change from day to day. When you find one you like, stick to visiting that day. They don't go light on onion in the pico de gallo so keep that in mind. The chili salsa was nice but I was surprised it was cold. Chili seemed to imply warm to me. I always get the guacomole on the side, since its $1 more. (I can spread it out better that way) My suggestion is keep it simple. Staff is very friendly and usually hilarious to talk with. But this is also a place I would never take my father whom is in his fifties. But I have witnessed many ages enjoying the feast. So Just saying..If you are judgmental, save yourself the pain don't go here, its too open minded for you. read more

The Food: The food was just 'ok', nothing special. I ordered a chicken burrito. There was very little chicken compared to the amount of guacamole and refried beans that they had put in it. I could barely taste the cheese. The size of the burrito was awesome though, worth the price there. Food Score-3 Customer Service: Nothing to complain about. I was greeted with a smile and my food took almost no time at all. One of the checkout people did have earbuds hanging from his shirt though which seemed unprofessional. Customer Service Score-4 Atmosphere: Definite 'hipster' vibe. Kinda looks like recycled materials as far as the inside decorations go. The tables give you a picnic feel. My cowboy crunch goes from $7.50 to close to $10 because I ask for a little extra bbq sauce and don't get literally half of what comes in the burrito to begin with (plain eater here) .. For $10 I'd rather go to chipotle and get a burrito plus chips and guac for the same price! They don't charge $2+ extra for a squirt of sauce at the Lemoyne location - go there if you can. read more

I sit here, disappointed to report that my first (and last) trip to Neato Burrito didn't turn out like I'd hoped. Disclaimer: I am an Avid Chipotle Fan. For other chipitle-addicts out there, you know what I mean...If I don't get to have it once a week or so, I go into withdrawl ;) Having recently moved here from VA, I learned that the Chipotle is 30 mins away. It usually doesn't stop me. But tonight I was tired, so when the craving struck I went to NB. I read the reviews first, and had some hope. I wish someone had warned me that it was not a replacement for my one and only. Honestly, it was just blah. Bland. I even asked the guy at the counter what was best, what had great flavors. And nada. I ordered the cajun chicken bowl, with all the trimmings. Again, just bland. No "kick", no fresh cut peppers and onions. Actually, it was really liquid-y (as another yelper had noted) The chips were like cheap, over salted Tostito's. Anywho, that's my opinion. For folks that aren't ACF's, you'd be fine. Similar to Chipotle in that they assemble your burrito to order. I agree with other reviewers that their portions are larger. My daughter usually gets steak at Chipotle, and she definitely felt the steak at Neato Burrito is more tender. I went with staff recommendation on the beans (a sweet chili), but the sweetness was overpowering. I also opted for guacamole. While it may be fresh, it was starting to darken and didn't look so appealing although it tasted fine. One thing we don't like about Chipotle is that they assemble fillings, some of which are cold, so the burrito is not always hot. I finally tried Neato Burrito (on 8/16/10) and it was pretty much as I expected. The prices were reasonable, the portions were large, and the food was fairly tasty. This place is a knock-off of the national chain Chipotle, but it is a bit fresher and I like the daily specials they have come up with. I had the Monday special, "For Those About to Rock, We Cilantro!" The tanginess of the lime and the freshness of the cilantro was a nice change from the usual. The others in my group had the "Cowboy Crunch" which they enjoyed. Overall, I had a pleasant enough experience. I do wish they had a pork option for meat. Last night, my wife and I went to Neato Burrito. She is a big Chipotle fan, but we passed by here many times and wanted to see what Neato Burrito was like. Pros: A LOT of food for the money! The burrito is huge and did weigh over 1 lb! Fast service and clean. Everything appeared "fresh." Cons: My wife and I agreed that everything just tasted average. While you would think that all of the ingredients would make a spectacular burrito, the burrito is just okay. As other posters have shared, the burrito gets somewhat soggy. The guacamole is bland and the regular salsa has some extra spice in it that gives it an interesting flavor. Even though we ordered over $20 worth of food, they still wanted to charge me 29 cents for a cup for ice water. Overall, it was good to try but we were hoping for more. read more

The decor and music take me back to freshman year of college, but there wasn't anything like this burrito joint there. Everything's usually clean, the staff decently friendly and helpful without a forced corporate perkiness. The menu is in your hands in the vein of a Moe's or Chipotle grill. I like that I can even fill out a card for my order, as I am really soft spoken and hard to hear. Burritos end up gigantic, and will fill you up for the day, and justify the price tag. A solid 3 and a half. I have to be careful rating here so here goes. Great rice and rice choices, good beans and chicken, i got cajun, and fresh toppings and salsa. The Guac out of a caulk gun was a little off but still pretty good. The employees were great and really cool about chatting while ordering, and the decor lights and chairs are pretty sweet too.
