We went for lunch with our out of town guests on a Wednesday. We had a party of five so we had about a 40 minute wait after an estimated 25. Not wanting to venture somewhere else, we stayed put and sat outside on the Adirondack chairs. It was a bit chilly but the sun was shining and our family members who just arrived from the North where it was below zero, enjoyed basking in the SC sun. When we were finally seated, our server Kegan quickly arrived with a warm smile and an enthusiastic welcome. We appreciated the hospitality. The atmosphere was lively, piped in music quite loud, but it was well decorated and attractive. Nectar farm's breakfast/lunch menu offered a myriad of options, many with a creative twist, so it took some time for us to to finally decide on our meals. Our drink orders arrived promptly which included some local beer on tap, a Bloody Mary, sangria and a Diet Coke. Everyone was pleased with their beverages so we moved on to the food. One diner decided on a traditional breakfast of two fried eggs, hash brown potatoes, city ham, and a buttermilk biscuit. Other orders included a biscuit eggs Benedict with the usual ingredients, country fried steak with sides, an upstate pasture omelette with sausage, ham, bacon, onion and cheddar, and finally a shrimp salad sandwich with avocado. Most everyone was delighted with their meals but there were some set backs. There was no doubt that the oil they used to fry the hash browns needed to be changed. I took one bite and never had another as it was too greasy and did not taste fresh. The buttermilk biscuit which was square, gave me the impression that they baked them in a pan whole and then sliced them to order. It was as hard as a brick and I couldn't even manage to tear or cut it it apart. I've never had country fried steak, but it was the shining star of my plate. The crispy exterior paired with the mild gravy and tender meat was well executed. But it was the only component of my meal that I enjoyed and actually finished with the help of my husband. Regardless, we would return as we think Nectar has promise, and its menu is diverse enough that it deserves a second helping. read more

Restaurant was packed. Service very slow. Tried the duck dip sandwich and ordered the roast sweet potatoes as a side. Supposed to be duck pastrami with cabbage cooked in duck fat and a duck just to dip it in. Duck was supposed to be pastrami but was more like leftover duck boiled and shredded. No flavor at all. The duck jus tasted like dishwater. Not even a hint of duck. The roll was good. Everything went rapidly downhill from there. The sweet potatoes never came just the regular fries. I would have complained to the waiter but we didn't see hide nor hair of him until well after the meal was over. I will be happy to give this place a wide berth. read more

Love the food, friendly service and location in downtown Bluffton. Magi sandwich always good. Got the dinner once, and will not do that again. The rice and vegetables were dry and tasteless. Was told because I chose blackened, the herb butter was used for the fish, so none on the rice and vegetables. That was ridiculous. I was given a new side of collards to replace it, but by then I was already disappointed. Still will go back, since usually it's very good. My granddaughter did not like her Mac n cheese this time either, since it was changed and now has bread crumbs baked in. W did not know and she disliked it when it was her favorite before. read more

We ate here twice, once for brunch and once for dinner, and had a great experience each time. Food is fresh and well prepared, and the service was prompt and pleasant. Nice drinks and a good beer list. We each ordered swordfish for dinner (one broiled, one blackened). The fish was moist and tasty, not overcooked as it so often is, and well seasoned. So went in for a first visit. The Biscuits came out and they were so good and fresh . Matt ordered the poutine and I got the duck hash. My hash came out with the eggs NOT runny as ordered. Sent them back and watched Matt eating his fine poutine. The duck hash was flavorless. When you are spending 18 dollars for a plate you expect flavor to be included. Really what we wanted was to try the duck sandwich but it is only on the lunch menu. With the hash such a disappointment not sure I will be coming back any time soon. The trick with a farm to table high price menu is that everything needs to be great. Without the biscuits this would be a one star. read more

Terrible service. I'm talking one of the worst ever. Walked in and there was a wait at the host stand.... No problem. Got seated after a few. Busy lunch hour on a beautiful day. Sat down and server took some time to come over. Ordered a nitro cold brew and waters. Cold brew didn't come for 20 minutes. After the first 10 mins she said it was on the way. Isn't it just a tap? lol after 20 min wait I got up, walked over to the server at the computer and asked her to cancel it. I wanted the coffee before my meal. Not with it. Then... Lunch was ordered. I ordered arugula salad dressing on side. My mom ordered sweet potato with cinnamon. My salad came completely dressed in dressing. Everywhere. My mom's sweet potato came plain. No cinnamon. Our food was brought over by someone else. I told the guy my salad was supposed to have dressing on the side. He looked at me like I had two heads. I said don't worry about it. The manager came over to offer a new salad. Everyone was eating. I didn't want to wait and make a fuss. After we ate we had to wait forever to get the check and then after I gave her my card to pay we had to wait another good 15-20 to get the card and check back. I had to go up to the computer where she was standing to ask her if we could get the check and cash out. The whole experience was so bad and I'm leaving some details out as it was my mom's bday lunch and I wanted to leave this review with a grateful heart. The server was very nice, but waiting tables is not for everyone. This is not the first time we have had bad service here. We won't be back. Too bad... decent menu... nice setting. read more

My husband has had a lot of work friend suggest this place and raved about the sticky bun (a very big cinnamon roll on the appetizer list which is pictured in many of these reviews). Overall we had a good breakfast and our sever was nice. It was very full and busy but we were sat immediately. Santa even showed up lol. We started with the sticky bun but honestly it was really dry and cold and the frosting is basically cream cheese so if you're looking for a traditional thin powdered sugar icing it's not the bun for you. I got the duck hash and wasn't too pleased it was dry but my husband got the seafood omelette so we swapped and it wasn't bad. Overall I would come back but I wouldn't get the same food again. read more

My favorite place for breakfast! I'm very surprised by some of the reviews and chalk it up to grouchy people with expectations that can never be met. The food and service have always been amazing. I am giving 4 stars ONLY for the spicy chicken and pickles sandwich. It was spicy and delicious. One of the best fried chicken sandwiches ive ever had- maybe even the best. Everything else i have had at nectar has not been great though. All breakfast items have been mediocre. Fresh, clean, kind of hip vibe. Service was excellent. Coffee, egg, ham, cheese, and hash browns were superb! The only reason for the four stars instead of five, was the biscuits. They are made in a sheet or tray, not individual. They are very greasy, and small. I'd say that mine might have been a bit stale, but that's probably my imagination because they probably go through lots of them each day. The ham and egg was much bigger than the biscuit; more than 50% bigger. After a couple bites, I decided the biscuit wasn't worth the calories. Even if you have never had a proper biscuit, you might not like these. So that's it for now. When I come here again, I'll try other things and add to this review.
