I came here on a whim and was surprised when I saw that they're entirely gluten free, but I decided to give the prosciutto + fig sandwich (comes on the GF croissant) a try. It was perfect. The mozzarella and fig compote together are sooo good. The side salad was just spring greens without any dressing(?) but I enjoyed the sandwich so much that it didn't really matter. I also got their drip coffee which was tasty. It's on the pricier side for a quick lunch break (~$20), but regardless, I will definitely be back to try more things from the menu :) read more

Updated: I was contacted by Noah, the store manager who got my address and delivered the order to my home. I received another call from another manager who apologized and offered to cover the cost of my order and also give a credit; I have received both now. I really appreciate them reaching out and making things right. We were scrambling a bit and ran behind on food for the shower, but I am really happy with how they handled this. And everyone loved the quiche! I ordered $370 of food for a friends baby shower. Since I did one order over the phone, and one online later, I called last week to confirm both orders since I could see how that would be confusing. They could not find either order until I emailed my receipts. The manager was kind and patient and said don't worry, you can pick up both orders right at 8 am on 8/20 when we open! Since a storm was coming in, I checked their social media and Yelp repeatedly for updates about the store possibly closing, and nothing was posted. I drove to Del Mar and got here to find the store closed. I called several times, no answer. I checked Instagram and saw a lovely little meme notifying me I would not be able to get all the food I ordered including 4 whole quiches, muffins, and a cake. Would've been really helpful and professional to get a call or email letting me know what was going on so I could make other plans. I would like to be refunded immediately. read more

Pretty good. Loved the new minty espresso! However I got a green smoothie today, first few sips and I was thinking eh not the best. Take another sip and I almost choke on a rock... take it home and put the whole smoothie through a strainer and found several more. First time customer now a last time customer. Service was horrible. I never write reviews so for me to even consider writing one should tell you something. Other than an "are you ready to order" I got nothing. No hello, no thank you, no eye contact, no have a nice day. Zero interaction. The girl that took my order turned her back to me after I paid and the girl making my coffee was no better. She at least handed me my drink. But again, no eye contact and no thank you. So weird. Ordered a cappuccino. Temperature was great. Probably right around 140 f. But it was extremely milk heavy. Way more milk than a typical capp. In fact I could not taste any coffee. I requested they they add another shot of espresso. In all, I think it ended up at $4.00 for the Capp plus $3.50 for the shot of espresso it needed. I really like the food options at Nectarine in Del Mar. I have breakfast or lunch here a few times per month. Thank you Nectarine for your gluten free restaurant. However, your service needs improvement. Beverages can take 15 minutes or more. Perhaps simple drinks like regular coffee and tea not be put in a queue behind all the fancy drinks you offer. Coffee and tea could be served by the cashier making your flow much better for customers. My last three visits there have been very slow food service. And we have had errors on our orders as well. My cappuccino was fine, but unfortunately I was unable to get it served in a ceramic coffee cup and saucer. Paper cups are a needless environmental waste and don't give quality coffee a good taste. Soap and hot water will sufficiently dissolve any bacteria or viruses, so please give your customers a choice to enjoy their coffee drinks in a proper cup. read more

Ok so I'm giving this place three stars. However it's minus two stars for their availability. They make the best gluten free croissants I have ever tasted. Problem is they sell out fast. An hour after opening they are sold out. We have tried three times and they were gone. All within 70 minutes or less of them opening. You can't order them online and you can't call in your order for them to hold them. At least that's what we were told. We called today and asked if they had any and they told us yes, we arrived there about ten minutes later and they were sold out. In fact there were people in line and once we found out about them being sold out, two people left including myself. Come on Nectarine Grove, you have a great product, make it available! Best quiche on the planet! Love how conscious they are here and the use of organic ingredients. My only wish is that they made less sugary bakery items, and used maple syrup or coconut sugar only (and less of it) in place of evaporated cane sugar. I just find the items way too sweet. I love Nectarine Grove (Encinitas location). This location is nothing like the Encinitas location. If you've been to the Encinitas location you know to expect high quality food. At the Del Mar location everything is microwaved, including the eggs. The customer service is poor. My meal was cold as soon as it came out of the kitchen. Very overpriced meal for microwaved food. Let me start off by saying I love Nectarine Grove & look forward to going when in the area. This review has absolutely nothing to do with the quality of the food because that remains amazing, it has to do with the customer service at this location specifically. First, they made my drink wrong (cold instead of hot as the ticket stated) and I decided to take it anyways and told the gal it was okay! Then I waited 30 minutes for my Chilaquiles which I specified had a avocado allergy & the server put on the ticket and it came out with avocado so I unfortunately had to send back. Then after sending back I waited for them to remake it with no avocado for another 30+ minutes. The attentiveness to detail needs to be looked at especially when dealing with allergies. read more
