Love everything about Nectarine Grove and what they stand for. I'm a regular at the original Leucadia location and was so excited when they opened this smaller bakehouse location. I've been here numerous times and the food and service are consistently good. Their menu isn't extensive but offers a good variety for being a smaller location. Also love their pastries and coffee drinks (try the chaggacino if you haven't already)! I've tried almost everything on the lunch menu and you can't go wrong with anything! I also always pick up some type of baked good while I'm here - I love their English muffins, waffles, and sourdough breads. It is REFRESHING, to say the least, to find a spot that carries such an array of grain-free, gluten free, dairy free items. A complete gem for this! And not only do they carry these items, the items are actually OUTSTANDING. Lots of capitalizations here but it's worthy of it I tried the two grain-free egg tacos with cashew chipotle crema. The eggs are organic pastured also. It was phenomenal and super filling. My friend ordered the egg sandwich and subbed it on the paleo baguette. She raved about it We then split a paleo cupcake and the grain free peanut butter brownie bar. (The bar pictured is split in two it comes as one large bar) The bar was heavenly and rich. I've been a customer of Nectarine Grove and Healthy Creations for many years now. This new location is not only closer to home (downtown) but has parking. Wow! Everything is gluten-free! The bread for each of the turkey sandwiches is amazing. You would never know it was gluten-free. Sandwiches are so flavorful. The desserts are fantastic too. Updated: I was contacted by Noah, the store manager who got my address and delivered the order to my home. I received another call from another manager who apologized and offered to cover the cost of my order and also give a credit; I have received both now. I really appreciate them reaching out and making things right. We were scrambling a bit and ran behind on food for the shower, but I am really happy with how they handled this. And everyone loved the quiche! I ordered $370 of food for a friends baby shower. Since I did one order over the phone, and one online later, I called last week to confirm both orders since I could see how that would be confusing. They could not find either order until I emailed my receipts. The manager was kind and patient and said don't worry, you can pick up both orders right at 8 am on 8/20 when we open! Since a storm was coming in, I checked their social media and Yelp repeatedly for updates about the store possibly closing, and nothing was posted. I drove to Del Mar and got here to find the store closed. I called several times, no answer. I checked Instagram and saw a lovely little meme notifying me I would not be able to get all the food I ordered including 4 whole quiches, muffins, and a cake. Would've been really helpful and professional to get a call or email letting me know what was going on so I could make other plans. I would like to be refunded immediately. read more

We had some really good food here while staying in Del Mar for the weekend. Thank goodness for places like this because our daughter has Celiac. I drive from Lakeside to Del Mar at least once a week to pick up the Paleo Quiche and other gluten free treats for my family, neighbors and friends. I used to have my own Paleo business 10 years ago so I know how expensive it is to run a place with all organic food. This is not your typical cafe. If you want $5 coffee and sandwiches, go to Mc Donald's. But if you want food that is delicious and nutritious, cooked in clean oils as opposed to industrial toxic oil, then Nectarine Grove gets 10/10. Our family favs are the bake house breakfast, the breakfast sandwich and the kid's quesadilla. Their baked goods are also very fresh and yummy. The coffee (and butter coffee) is great, too. I bought a croissant and it was hands down the best croissant I have had outside of France. The sourdough bread on my pesto sandwich was amazing. I came here on a whim and was surprised when I saw that they're entirely gluten free, but I decided to give the prosciutto + fig sandwich (comes on the GF croissant) a try. It was perfect. The mozzarella and fig compote together are sooo good. The side salad was just spring greens without any dressing(?) but I enjoyed the sandwich so much that it didn't really matter.
