The ladies working here are nice and friendly. I felt welcomed. BUTTER LATTE (iced) was super rich. You could see the butter globules floating on the surface of the drink and floating throughtout the drink. I enjoyed it but I definitely took my time sipping it. It was flavorful even after all the ice melted. PROSCIUTTO AND FIG sandwich was pretty food. The fig and cherry compote was a thick spoonful on one side of the sandwich. I would preffered to have it spread out throughout but it is prettier to have it in one spot. I am not normally a prosciutto person but this prosciutto was better than most I've tried -- it wasn't very salty and it wasn't dry either. I don't like arugula but at least the sandwich wasn't bursting with it. The sandwich came with a side of greens which was very lightly dressed in a vinnagrette -- a very simple salad, nothing special or fancy. I usually refuse to eat salads but I finished eating all of this one. The croissant on this sandwich was interesting. I could tell tapioca flour was used in making it because of some dense chewy spots but it was still surprisingly croissant-like with crispy flakes on the surface. I've had a lot of gluten-free baked goods and this croissant was one of the best made breads. Hubby got the BREAKFAST SANDWICH and ate it all without a comment so it must have been okay. There is only patio sitting and the umbrellas don't cover all of the sun so it may be too cold or too hot at times. The seating area is also quite crowded with few seats per table. You won't be able to fit a large party but you can take your food to go and find seating in the Promenade. read more

Love everything about Nectarine Grove and what they stand for. I'm a regular at the original Leucadia location and was so excited when they opened this smaller bakehouse location. I've been here numerous times and the food and service are consistently good. Their menu isn't extensive but offers a good variety for being a smaller location. Also love their pastries and coffee drinks (try the chaggacino if you haven't already)! I've tried almost everything on the lunch menu and you can't go wrong with anything! I also always pick up some type of baked good while I'm here - I love their English muffins, waffles, and sourdough breads. It's pricey but worth it when it's made with good ingredients and gluten free. I hope they keep expanding to more areas! read more

It is REFRESHING, to say the least, to find a spot that carries such an array of grain-free, gluten free, dairy free items. A complete gem for this! And not only do they carry these items, the items are actually OUTSTANDING. Lots of capitalizations here but it's worthy of it I tried the two grain-free egg tacos with cashew chipotle crema. The eggs are organic pastured also. It was phenomenal and super filling. My friend ordered the egg sandwich and subbed it on the paleo baguette. She raved about it We then split a paleo cupcake and the grain free peanut butter brownie bar. (The bar pictured is split in two it comes as one large bar) The bar was heavenly and rich. We did not finish it. The cupcake is not pictured because that was devoured quickly. We each left with an extra dessert for another day and a bag of paleo buns. Did I mention they sell their breads!? This place is a dream for gluten-free diners. Holy what? Croissants?? Brioche?? Everything was gluten-free and delicious. The breads were the right texture, held up in a breakfast sandwich, and made me forget it didn't contain flour. The spicy mayan coffee on top of the food fare made me feel like I was in heaven. I've been a customer of Nectarine Grove and Healthy Creations for many years now. This new location is not only closer to home (downtown) but has parking. We had some really good food here while staying in Del Mar for the weekend. Thank goodness for places like this because our daughter has Celiac. I drive from Lakeside to Del Mar at least once a week to pick up the Paleo Quiche and other gluten free treats for my family, neighbors and friends. I used to have my own Paleo business 10 years ago so I know how expensive it is to run a place with all organic food. This is not your typical cafe. If you want $5 coffee and sandwiches, go to Mc Donald's. But if you want food that is delicious and nutritious, cooked in clean oils as opposed to industrial toxic oil, then Nectarine Grove gets 10/10. This place is amazing. A culinary experience. All gluten free and they use healthy oils and organic ingredients. I bought a croissant and it was hands down the best croissant I have had outside of France. The sourdough bread on my pesto sandwich was amazing. They also have donuts and other baked goods that looked delicious. I cant wait to try them all. I am glad their menu is a bit different than their Leucadia location (also delicious).
