I moved to Sylvan Park area in September. I had been meaning to come to this bar for a minute. I choose to come today. My friend and I grabbed a table because it said to sit yourself. There was 10 people in the whole bar . No one came over to take our order or recognize us so we left and will not be back. I'm not sure how they stay in business this way. read more

I frequent neighbors. However, I had a negative experience tonight. I ordered a beer and some guacamole.. The total was $10.80. I get $12 dollars out to give to the bartender. When she takes my money, she miss counts it as $11 dollars. She says "I'm doing you a favor and you give me 20 cents?". I say, " no, I gave you a dollar and twenty cents, which is nothing to complain about". After recounting the money, instead of admitting she's wrong, she shrugs and walks away. I then re-confront her and she claims that a dollar twenty still wasn't enough. Her name is NATALIE and she should be terminated Arnold Schwarzenegger style. ONE STAR NATALIE. read more

This would be a great place for a bar. Never before have I witnessed the staff doing shots and getting plastered(drunk) so openly while the customers sat with empty glasses and no service. This places reputation proceeded itself, but we decided to give it a try anyway. What a major mistake! The bathrooms are on the back deck and what a sketchy place that turned out to be. I felt like I had walked into the middle of a drug deal. I asked about the manager and was informed that she was the VERY unhappy looking lady sitting at a table with permanent, resting, "I hate you, get out of my bar face!" Decided not to talk to her as she obviously didn't want to talk to ANYONE!! When our food finally arrived it was delicious, and I will give credit where credit is do!! unfortunately the experience itself was not worth a return trip. Ok, ok, I came here after having multiple liquor treats at the Van Halen concert so my memory is hazy. But I damn sure remember our waitress (used to be our favorite Sam's waitress!), and the festive patio in the front. So I sat there and drank on a nice night and had a good time. Plus I could still hear the live music while sitting outside. Our service rocked because our waitress rocked - and she knows us, so your experience may vary. The name fits, "Neighbors", it's a neighborhood bar to the Sylvan Park hood. It's still young and they are just growing into their shoes as far as service and food. Weird/sketchy and not so great service.... They don't know what they have on tap... I had asked what a specific tap was, and the bartender looked at me blankly and responded, "I don't know" and proceeded to stare at me without looking at the tap. I had to get up, walk to the end of the bar, and look myself. Got "up sold" on something without being told it was more money for a small addition ($3 more!). Not a fan, not going back. read more

With Edley's new location, it's hard for this place to stand out anymore. The food was pretty average, and the service was spotty. Excellent wait staff but a rude bartender. We were also asked to finish and leave "in 5 minutes" to make room for a band. When we didn't move fast enough the bartender encouraged one of the guys in the band to go ahead and set up around us. We'll take our business to Edley's and Local Taco for our neighborhood drinking and dining. read more

I've only ever come here post kickball games, and perhaps that isn't the best time to visit. Standing room only seems to definitely be the name of the game around here, at least at night, which wouldn't be so terrible if the place wasn't teeny tiny and you could actually obtain a beer without having to dive over the bar and get it yourself to do so within half an hour of requesting it. I was also gravely disappointed the other night to learn that this bar was not your typical bar joint. It had - wait for it - NO hamburgers!!! This is America, is it not? All of our bars have burgers! It's standard drunk people food! But no, Neighbors is all southern and fancy and has $10 barbecue sandwiches. Which I'm sure are all kinds of tasty, but to the drunk girl who just wants some tasty dead cow, kind of heartbreaking .I suppose if you aren't in a hurry and don't particularly care about getting to sit down, this place can be pretty fun, and they do have a pretty decent beer menu. Oh, and also beware the parking situation! Like the bar, the lot is tiny and finding someplace to park where your car won't be towed can be tricky. read more

Enjoyed Neighbors the first 2 times. Everybody was very friendly. Got to watch my football team (not the Titans). My 3rd visit I asked to have my team turned on 1 of the many TV's. I was told that was not possible. What?!?! They even have a poster advertising every game shown! Guess only Titans fans can go to Neighbors. Neighbors is a pleasant little neighborhood bar with decent BBQ for a bar. They smoke their meats in the parking lot behind the building so don't leave your high end luxury car there unless you want smoky barbeque scent as your air freshener. The bar itself actually has a surprisingly lengthy bottle and draft beer selection including seasonal picks in addition to a limited wine list and the usual cocktails. I had the brisket sandwich and it was tasty, but plain. The sandwich had two ingredients: bread and meat. Barbaeque sauce was provided on the side but it wasn't anything special. Sauce is what makes or breaks BBQ and this sauce does not do this deliciously smoked meat justice. Also, the brisket itself is sliced very thin and not the usual cut that you think of when you think of brisket. I would come here again for the drinks and TVs but not when it's game day since there was some contention over which games should be on which screens. read more

As a Sylvan Parker, I have been to Neighbors many times over the years. Love the staff, love the atmosphere... but, until tonight, I had mostly just gone in for drinks or nachos (which are also good.) Tonight I ordered some ribs and wings, To Go, and was blown away! This place has awesome BBQ! Not that smothered sweet junk, but real BBQ.... Dry, butt rubbed with meat that stands on its own. I also like the atmosphere of "the place across the street," but, Neighbors has them beat, by a long shot. And, they serve food an hour later than the competition ;) read more

I had a very bad experience at Neighbors. After my cocktail was brought to my table, I left for a few moments to use the restroom. When I returned to the table, my drink was gone. The employee responsible for clearing tables had whisked it away even though it was a fresh, nearly full drink. I asked for another drink and was treated badly by my waitperson who then did not bring another drink. I asked for my credit card to be returned so I could leave. The waitperson looked for my card, couldn't find it, then said that she had returned it to me. She had not. I asked the bar manager if he had my card. He said "No" without looking for the card. I went back to my waitperson and asked if she would look again. She yelled "Security!" to an obvious security fellow. I left this bar without my card, went home and cancelled the card. I was later told by an acquaintance of the waitperson that she was drunk. I recommend that this bar be avoided unless you are fond of surly service. read more
