Then I had asked the young worker for ice water & he said sure but never brought it out. Then I get home & try the bowl I ordered and the banana was so hard & not sweet I was so disappointed. Also they put out their own app so it is easy to use and order from, whereas the competition outsourced theirs to a 3rd party and it is difficult to use, and rewards often can not be redeemed in person at the store of my choice and there is a special service fee for the online ordering, SURPRISE! So free is NOT actually free at the competition. Here at Nekter, there is no online service fee, YAAAS! The drinks are not the sugary array, this is healthier, so you aren't getting the same kinds of drinks, so really, the drinks are NOT the same thing. These guys at Nekter have non-dairy drinks it would seem. I got the PB mocha. There is one thing that is a personal preference. It is nutty in the fact that there are real peanuts added to the mix resulting in tiny peanut particles. I personally like it, like chunky peanut butter. Hubby, not so much. The large drink is ginormous, like 32 ounces or larger. Onto the most similar of items. If you are a hungry kid, there is about 20% more in the nekter bowl than the popular competitor, but the price of each is nearly the same. What else?...Nekter's bowl does not turn watery like the popular competitor's. Probably due to the chia seeds. Their granola here tastes like the high end granola (crunchy) that I buy, whereas the competitors's tastes like cheap granola (not crunchy) that is at a fraction of the price. Fresh fruit is evident to both bowls, so no additional points there. I have found my favorite fruit and yogurt bowl shop! My sister and I have been excited about having Nekter in Elk Grove. So much so, we've been twice already. Lol Our first visit, we both ordered açaí bowls. I had their açaí mango bowl and let me tell you, it's much bigger than I was expecting. I basically ate the bowl as a meal substitute because it was so filling. I didn't taste a whole lot of mangoes though, I really only got pineapple. But the fruits were all sweet. The gal behind the counter told us to download the app so we could earn points/rewards for our purchases and she also mentioned we would get a free-welcome smoothing. So on our second visit, we redeemed those welcome smoothies! I had their pink flamingo and it was very refreshing. I wish the drink was a little thicker however. My sister had their PB Mocha and she enjoyed it, but she really wanted to order the PB Chocolate Protein smoothie? But we didn't see it on the menu, however on our way out we noticed there was a sign on their window with their protein products. It would probably do better to have it inside or atleast on the menu. When I heard Nekter was coming to Elk Grove I was super excited! I love acai bowls but the options are limited here. The bowls range from $10-12 and they also have several juice and smoothie options. The smoothies are $8-10 but honestly that's not far off from Jamba Juice prices these days! I ordered an Acai Mango bowl and Acai Banana Berry bowl. The cashier asked what protein and boost I wanted but I was confused since it didn't say that was inside on the menu description. I noticed later that it's actually an extra dollar for those but she never said anything so that was a bit sneaky. Otherwise the bowl was super yummy and very fresh!
