When we walked in we were greeted by a guy and the girl behind the counter was friendly and kind, but that's about where the stars end for me.... Reminded me of an updated Jamba juice....but prettier. The smoothie I ordered was a beautiful pink from the strawberries, and that would have been awesome had I not needed to drink it. The drink itself was bland. I did however modify the Pink Flamingo, by taking out the agave, but I really didn't need or want the extra sugar, but who knows, maybe that's why it's ordered....I just know that it was cold and Meh at best. read more

I'm usually a huge fan of Nektar for açai bowls, but today's bowl didn't live up to my expectations. I got the PB bowl, which had a great consistency, but very little flavor. I'm not sure if the PB bowls I've had in the past were overloaded with way too much peanut butter, but I couldn't taste ANY in the one I got today. Instead, it just had a light, tangy berry flavor, that was not as satisfying as expected. I'm sure I'll return to Nektar at some point in the future, but I'll get a different bowl instead or stop by a different location if I'm craving the PB Bowl. read more

I was super happy they opened a Nekter Juice Bar near where I live! I've always been wanting to try it and I finally got to. I work next door at Pieology so I always walk by it and I decided to try it one day after work. Now... I keep stopping by after work and it's so refreshing on a hot day. In the past 7 days I've gotten 3 drinks there. I'm going to try the Acai Bowl soon! It seems pretty big so I might want to share with someone. My first time, I had the Greenie. I got it with the $3 Facebook Promo deal. It was alright, it's a typical green juice! It has parsley, spinach, kale, cucumber, lemon & apples in it. I took out the celery because I personally don't like celery. It's a very classic green smoothie but I would prefer other juices. My second time stopping by, I decided to try a smoothie! I got the Pink Flamingo AND IT WAS HEAVENLY. I asked for the agave on the side because all fruit smoothies are already sweet enough for me so I ended up not even adding the agave! The Pink Flamingo has pitaya, strawberries, pineapples, agave nectar & coconut water. I love this drink! The third time, I was going to try something else but ended up getting the Pink Flamingo again. Haha, I'm more attracted to the smoothies rather than the juices here! They're so delicious & the ingredients in each smoothie seem to work very well together. I'm on an adventure to try everything on their menu (or most) since I work so close & it's such a temptation to stop by after work every time. You definitely need to take a visit here & try their drinks & bowls. I'm sure you won't regret it! The staff here is very nice as well & greet you once you enter the place :) It's a small little place with just several tables inside but there's a huge outdoor seating area that's shared with all the other food places nearby. read more

I'm going to leave a honest review. The service was hella slow and I was a tad bit pissed they didn't let me substitute bananas for another fruit. When I asked to just add extra of something else and not put bananas the server said it would be extra cost. I guess I just don't understand because I've never been to a fruit bowl place that doesn't allow you to do that or charge you extra with substituting fruit. Left 3 stars because overall the items I ordered were good but they really should accommodate if people are allergic to certain fruits & have a better attitude when servicing people. read more

This Nekter is not good. I ordered an acai bowl with the toppings stated and asked for no bee pollen. I got the bowl with the bee pollen and the fruit on top was really cheap. It comes with apple pieces and I literally had one tiny apple piece. It was way over priced. I ordered the same bowl at the San Dimas Nekter and it was 100% better quality and $3 cheaper. I had an acai bowl from here. It was reasonably priced compared to some others in the area, and there were a few varieties -- I just got the basic one with fruits and granola. It wasn't anything exceptional but hit the spot, plus I didn't have to wait too long for it. They have wifi that extends to the outdoor seating area (barely). I come here only for the acai bowls, I go here nearly everyday. I've tried the smoothie, it's meh. They provide free WiFi and clean seating. Packed usually on the weekends. Service may lack sometimes as they are in the process of making smoothies but I wish they would acknowledge when I'm standing at the register like a loser. No matter what I order at Nékter it never fails to impress. The juices are great! The smoothies chilled to perfection (perfect for this upcoming summer heat), and the bowls are beyond discussion. The line on a busy day is no different from getting a juice at Whole Foods, so I don't get why people complain. One time I came into this place a little disoriented from my workout and got convinced to do the kale mix. I got told that I wouldn't taste the difference or notice it at all! I love kale and spinach its so good and amazing for your health. It changed my acai bowl flavor and look which wasn't too bad but if I didn't like it either one then I wouldn't have liked the bowl. Everytime I come here I get the little energy shots their just too good not to try! I've tried both and their so tasty one more than the other. I have been a loyal customer for the last 4 years as my office and home are walking distance. 2-3 years ago every order was ready in 15 minutes or less (usually way less). The Peanut Butter Protein Açaí Bowl is a wonderful thing- it's fruity, it's crunchy, it's chilly and filling. They blend the peanut butter right into the acai berry blend, making the texture a bit richer and offers a better 'mouth feel'. Their hemp granola is super tasty- nutty and crunchy with what seems to be puffed kernels of wheat perhaps? (Idk!)- The end result is one of the best bowls of this genre that I've had! Now comes the not so wonderful review of their staff at this Lake Avenue location. I've been a few times and there usually isn't a real warm and friendly vibe there, to be frank. The cashier didn't even smile when she greeted me, nor was she super happy to help me use a coupon from Nékter's app. Just not a great experience and this isn't he first time. I just can't figure out why people take customerservice jobs and then act hostile when dealing with the public?!?
