Shrimp Tempura( you get 2 pieces of shrimp and that big onion and zucchini with broccoli

My job is down the street and I had t eaten here since they first opened, and it was good so I thought to give them a try. It is not the same! I ordered the steak and shrimp hibachi, with steak medium. Of course the steak was well done, why do they ask how you want the steak cooked if they aren't going to adhere to it. I also ordered the shrimp tempura and that was terrible. First it should say tempura and vegetables. I don't know if it was the oil the food was cooked in or the vegetables were bad but it definitely isn't something I would order again; I doubt that I would go back unless I see a sign "Under New management" They have added more items to the menu, such as ramen, sushi and some other items. But there is no way I would try the sushi! If the oil is old, I'm not trusting the sushi.

    Strip of zucchini peels.

We decided to try Neo Japan even though the reviews overall are less than favorable. The dining area is very clean and the cashier was very sweet, but I really wish we would have heeded the reviews. The veggies you get as one of the choices with the Bento box is mostly onions, as you can see in my pictures. The zucchini is oddly mostly the peels. Yes, peels! I've never seen anything like that before! There were very few actual pieces of zucchini. The shrimp was mostly tasteless and the fried dumplings were overfried and only came with a package of soy sauce, no typical dumpling sauce. My spouse got the salad that didn't even come with any salad dressing. She had to ask for some and all they had was pre-packaged ranch, no ginger dressing at all. The rice was pretty good and so is the white sauce, but all in all, really not worth trying, IMO.

I ordered veggie fried rice... this is what I get... I guess the veggies are invisible?

We are all entitled to our own opinions, right? Well here's mine: Parking: 3 Location: 3 Decor/ambiance: 2 Customer Service: 1 I normally do my best to stay away from 1 STAR establishments BUT i went ahead and went against my fellow yelpers and their reviews. The average rating for this spot is a 1 Star... and its there for a reason! I arrived on evening an hour from the close of the business. When i walked in I was immediately struck by the wet floors and the strong smell of Ammonia that filled the place. They had already put up all of the chairs and had floors flooding with ammonia/ water. This is super dangerous and just down right wrong... an hour before close and this is what customers have to experience. The customer service blowsssss... I wasn't greeted, wasn't welcomed into the restaurant, the guy at the counter just looked at me until I opened my mouth with questions. I felt as if I had disrupted him from something. There was two other guys behind him and they were all ranting in another language on phones. After placing my order it took about 10 minutes to arrive (veggie fried rice and egg roll). So i sat in the ammonia filled dinning room patiently waiting. I watched several other customer come in sliding and coughing at the fumes from the ammonia. Long story short, I got the meal home and there was no veggies in my veggie fried rice. I was livid BUT it was late so i at white rice and an egg roll. If you go to this spot, please inspect your food before leaving and hopefully the customer service is a bit better next time.

Mr. Tokyo is a solid choice if you're craving all you can eat sushi. Depending on when you go,…read morethere's usually a wait for a table, but it's hard to beat the value for the price. They have a decent selection of appetizers, nigiri, specialty rolls, and other items, so it's fun being able to try a little bit of everything instead of committing to just a few rolls. The sushi is good for an all you can eat restaurant. I've definitely had better quality sushi elsewhere, but considering how much food you get, I really can't complain. One thing I'd recommend is ordering everything you think you'll want in your first round. There's a 90-minute time limit, and once your initial order comes out, the server doesn't check back very often. They do charge $1 for every leftover piece, but if you're with a group, it's usually not hard to finish everything. If you're just looking to satisfy a sushi craving without breaking the bank, Mr. Tokyo is definitely worth checking out!

I visited Mr. Tokyo for AYCE sushi on a Tuesday night and had a nice dinner. My server was helpful…read moreand friendly. My first two rolls took a while to come out, but I think that was because one of the rolls I ordered was fried. My last two rolls came out much quicker and I ordered those one at a time. AYCE dinner was $26.99, and I felt like I got my moneys worth with 26 pieces of sushi (10 of those pieces were HUGE pieces of sushi too). Appa Roll (5): This roll was pretty, green, and tasty! I loved the shrimp tempura and avocado combination. Even though this was a 5 piece roll, the pieces were big, so it was just as filling as the standard 8 piece. TNT Roll (5): I enjoyed it, but probably wouldn't get this one again because it is fried and has cream cheese (too filling when you are trying to do AYCE). I really liked the mango in the roll, so I want to try their other rolls with mango! The pieces were huge, this roll was more filling than the standard 8 piece. Chapel Hill Roll (8): My favorite roll of the night, I loved the different fish on top and the avocado was delicious. Salmon Lover Roll (8): If you like salmon and avocado, this roll is for you! A lot of other salmon forward rolls have cream cheese, so I loved that this one had avocado instead. Delicious! I look forward to coming back with a friend or my husband so we can share rolls and try even more varieties!

When you arrive parking can be a bit tricky in this area as you'll need to find parking on the street or in a nearby parking lot. When you arrive the entrance can be a bit hard to find as it's tucked away down a cobblestone road. Look for the "m" logo outside of the door of the restaurant. You'll check in with the host when you arrive, and for this trip we opted to sit at the bar. When you walk into M sushi you'll feel like you've stepped into an underground, relaxed hangout for sushi. To start I ordered the Mizuwari (Nikka Coffey Grain Whisky, elderfower liqueur, and tonic) which was perfectly balanced and a great way to start the meal. Following that the omakase service started with miso soup which was hot and fresh, followed by the different pieces of sushi. There was a variety from blue fin tuna, to sea bream, to Norwegian Sea trout. My favorite was a tie between the seared salmon belly and toro blue fin. We also ordered a bottle of Born Gold Junmai Daliginjo (Rich, smooth, fruit and grain forward) which paired excellently with the meal. This was a fun experience as it was my first time trying Omakase and looking forward to my next trip to M Sushi.

We started off with their sodas made in-house, one being green apple and the other being grapefruit. They were okay. The grapefruit one kind of tasted like apple cider vinegar. We tried them because a soda was $6 and there were no free refills. I find that a strange decision but this could be personal preference. We got a mixture of the small plates and rolls including the nigiri (delightful!), tuna crispy rice (my 2nd favorite), dumplings, bao bun (one cut in half), the rainbow roll, and the unagi roll. While I thought the nigiri and tuna crispy rice were amazing - both tasted fresh - overall, the food was just fine. I think our experience could just be based on pure preference. I found the sushi to be good but not the best I have ever had as some other Yelpers have experienced.
