The restaurant was casual, clean, and had a relaxed atmosphere. They have a good variety for the price. Service was friendly and the food kept coming out fresh. Previously known as Rockin' Rolls Sushi, they had to change the name because another restaurant with multiple locations of the same name somehow had leverage to force it, even tho these guys had been around for years. Otherwise, everything is the same. All you can eat sushi, appetizers, and entrees for one price. Weekend lunch price is the same as dinner price. Side note, same thing happened to Em R Wings in Apex who were forced to change their name by a restaurant of the same name even tho they'd been under the name forever and have been Apex Wings for the last many years now, who btw, have fantastic wings. We got tempura, spring rolls and crab ragoon for appetizers. All of which were good, although the spring rolls were the least tasty IMO. I didn't care for the miso soup as it tasted too fishy and the machine that dispersed it gives out a full bowl. Soft drinks are self serve by the soup machine. We downed many plates of sushi of several varieties as the conyveyor belt kept them coming and refilled at a very good clip. A Sushi buffet? yes please! What a cool idea, chilled conveyor system where you can pluck your plates and eat away however you are not paying per plate- you pay a flat fee when you walk in. I love the rotating Sushi places, gives you options to choose a variety of roll's and get more options/variety for your taste buds. This place takes it a step further so if you are really hungry, your ill certainly save money. My appetite, its a break even but that's ok. My husband and I come to Rockin Rolls Sushi when we want to eat a lot. It's a unique and exciting experience with the conveyor belt. On our recent trip we sat at the best table where the conveyor belt starts, so that was really fun for us. Is this the best sushi I've every had? Of course not, but it is decent sushi and AYCE, so come hungry to get your moneys worth! My favorite rolls are the Fayetteville Roll and the Raleigh Roll. They only put 3-4 small pieces of such on each plate so you get the chance to try all the different rolls if you want. However, I don't recommend the Crazy Monkey Roll (deep fried banana... it's just weird). There is a iPad at every table and you can order as much as you want. We like the Beef Gyoza and Hibachi Steak. The steak always seems a bit overcooked to me but I enjoy eating it with sauce and for the price/AYCE, I don't mind at all. I visited Rockin Roll Sushi last weekend as it was near my house. As someone who regularly makes miso soup, I was pretty disappointed in the soup dispenser... and that was just the beginning of the experience. Despite the good front door service and prompt delivery of hibachi, I was scared of getting food poisoning the whole time. Most of the hibachi was inedible and felt extremely overcooked/not fresh, and the sushi fish was semi-dry. I thought that flavors echoed an Asian-inspired food rather than an authentic one. I also felt the rice was not seasoned with any type of rice vinegar or salt, and the sushi desperately needed that kick. I couldn't even find wasabi. I will likely not be back, but I give this location a 2-star due to its good service and conveyor belt sushi experience. read more

To be honest, when I heard all you can eat conveyor belt sushi and $18 for dinner and ~$15 for lunch... you don't set your expectation to be some wild luxurious Jiro Dreams of Sushi adventure. This place is worth a visit for the experience. It's a little run down but I love the conveyor belt sushi and it's all you can eat so you can try a bunch of different kinds. That being said, the sushi is objectively terrible (dry, bland, every roll basically tastes the same). I came to Rockin Rolls with really low expectations but found myself pleasantly surprised. For under $20 this is a decent AYCE revolving sushi place! I came with a friend for lunch and the place was not terribly crowded. You pay at the front before you're seated. There are self serve sauce, drink, miso soup, appetizer, and dessert options. The revolving conveyor belt goes surprisingly fast (or maybe I just deliberate very slowly) so be careful not to jostle the other plates when you make your choice. There's also a digital screen at each table where you can order apps and main courses, and someone will bring them to you. Service was pretty quick. I was not expecting high quality fish nor did they provide high quality fish, but there were some pretty fun rolls and things I would tend to skip at pricier AYCE places. I don't recall the names but most of the rolls I had were pretty decent. I also enjoyed the tempura shrimp, which we ordered from the kitchen. They were really crispy and the oil didn't taste old. Unimpressed. Is the word I would use to describe this place. When I walked in a got a sort of- Chinese buffet vibe. A strange smell lingered in the air. There was a small area to grab things like edamame and crab, it looked kind of old and picked at. The sushi was grocery store level at best. Honestly this is one of those places that goes above and beyond at being one thing while being okay with only being middle of the road at another. Simplicity, unique charm, and overall ability to get a tasty quick meal at a great price is what this place excels at. That said, it was not as good of sushi as other places. And for the price you can hardly expect to get high-end designer sushi. Yet somehow it really hits the spot when what you're craving is sushi in a hurry or a unique experience. The conveyor belt sushi experience is one that I have had in the past but usually at a price per plate style establishment. But with this one price style dining you get here, it is also very freeing to get to completely sample multiple things without fear of racking up a huge bill. Not to mention just the speed of which you can go in and sate your appetite. For me personally, I would love to be able to have sushi more often. However sometimes time just doesn't make it an acceptable option. I can get into this place and have a really nice delightful bite in about 15 to 20 minutes. This is the first time me and my friend went for all-you-can-eat conveyor belt sushi, and it was AMAZING!! The price was a little high for all you can eat, but it comes with so many other options than just sushi. Seaweed salad, crab salad, hibachi entrees, gyoza, spring rolls, shrimp tempura, miso soup, etc were just some of the delicious options they offered with their deal. I would personally rate a 4.5 stars since I ordered 4 orders of chicken wings on their tablet/menu and never recieved it. BEWARE INFLATION - no longer high yield When I first came here, I loved it right away. $10.95 for AYCE sushi. I seriously wondered how they were making a profit given the decent unlimited sushi I was getting at such an affordable price. Well my hunch was correct - they clearly were not making money. When I went again, I was shocked to find the price to be $18 for dinner. While this is not absurd, this was also not what I was expecting. Unfortunately, the unexpected price increased colored my taste buds and they did not activate as usual. Thus, food tasted much worse even though I got my usual fare - tons of salmon/avocado sushi, a giant bowl of machine outputted miso soup, chicken wings, teriyaki steak, and spring rolls. Should I blame rockin rolls for market forces that are out of their control? Of course not, that would not be fair. I think 3 stars is fair for the current food at its current price point.
