What a cool sushi spot! I've never done conveyor belt sushi and saw this place on Instagram. I went with a couple family members on a packed Saturday night, the wait was about 40 minutes. Prior to being seated they give you a tray with your drink cups. I didn't understand the point of the tray at first (probably zoned out as they were explaining everything) until I saw how many things they had at the condiment bar! You will definitely need the tray to haul your sauces, drinks, and soup. After grabbing our table we didn't know where to start! I thought there would just be the sushi, but there's a tablet at your table where you can order several different appetizers, hibachi, etc. which was all made to order, because I would burn myself trying to eat it as soon as it came to the table. As far as the sushi, it's honestly not really for the vegetarians because there weren't that many vegetarian options. Aside from that, the sushi was pretty decent. There were more options than I was expecting, they had several several different raw options as well as tempura options and deep fried options. They even had 3 different types of cake! Overall, I think this was a cool experience, especially with it being $18 a person for dinner ( I believe it's $14 for lunch). I'd come back so other people could check it out, but I don't know that it would be necessary to come back for sushi if I just wanted a roll. I don't know that this is a good idea for large groups based on the setup. I took one of the plates of the belt and patiently waited for another vegetarian roll to come by. 5 minutes...10 minutes...15 minutes go by and still not a single vegetarian roll came to me. Either they weren't making enough vegetarian rolls, or they were being taken by other people before it even got to our table. We had ordered some appetizers (spring rolls, veggie tempura, veggie fried rice) as well but they were all disgusting. I saw a plate of edamame come by on the belt and took that, but they looked like they had been out for awhile & definitely did not taste fresh either. We had went up to the lady at the front to ask if she could request a few veggie rolls to be made and put on the belt, but very rudely she said to us that there were 2 already on the belt. I came here for dinner on a trip to Charlotte and it was a fantastic experience. The conveyor belt is so unique and I loved being able to try out all the different types. The sushi itself wasn't amazing quality, especially the fried ones, but I thought it was still great for the price and the experience. No but you get what you pay for and for only $16 a person for dinner, it a good deal especially in uptown Charlotte where everything is expensive. It's an amazing experience like nothing I've ever seen. The only reason I took off a star is because the drinks and condiments are self serve which is a little weird. My friend told me about this place, so we decided to try it out. It's roughly $14 for all you can eat, which is not a bad deal. When you first walk in, it's kind of dark and gray, no real ambiance or mood..just kind of there. You immediately notice rolls of sushi passing by on a conveyer belt, which are labeled according to the type of sushi. It's a nice concept, but I feel to really amp it up a notch, maybe have better lighting? Something. The sushi like the other reviews stated, is below grocery store quality. Publix has better sushi! And Publix sushi is $5 on Wednesday...but anyways...I only felt safe eating the tempura shrimp sushi or the veggie sushi, because the raw sushi looked unsafe and dry as hale. Literally I wanted to slap some oil on that sushi because it literally was dry and ashy. My friend and I then ordered the chicken and steak hibachi. When I tell you, they did not add not a pinch of salt or seasoning to that hibachi!!! I have never in all of my 31 years tasted hibachi that had no flavor to it. My friend and I drenched our sushi in the "yummy sauce" and the soy sauce and I was still not impressed. I gave 2 stars because I was hungry as was able to sit down and immediately eat. The sushi was of very low quality and the desserts did not look appetizing. They do have a screen where you can order hot food- I would highly recommend doing this as soon as you sit down! So here it goes. I never, ever write bad reviews. I figure that everyone has their own experience & it could completely differ from another person's. However...this, takes the crown on worst experience I've had in a long time. 1. The sushi. It's been sitting on the belt for a long time. There is no control of how many times this sushi goes around. The belt isn't refrigerated in any way, so I can't even imagine the temperature of some of the nigiri. The tuna, for example, looked like it had been dehydrated & turned into jerky. The Kani nigiri rice stuck to the plate it was that warm. The only way something was replaced was when one was taken off it seemed. I wouldn't be shocked if someone walks away with food poisoning. 2. The items you can order. I had the hibachi beef, no rice and veggies. A friend had the chicken hibachi and fried rice. My boyfriend had teriyaki beef with veggies and no rice. Apparently "veggies" means sad strips of zucchini, 2 broccoli florets & all the raw onions you can put on one plate to call it "vegetables". The beef was the only thing slightly decent once it was covered in yum-yum sauce. The friend who got chicken had 5 bites and couldn't finish it. My boyfriend's "teriyaki" was the exact same plate as mine, just with half a gallon of teriyaki sauce dumped on top (pictured for proof). I get this is in a college area and maybe the price points are low enough that "the kids" might think this is good...but it isn't. This place is a waste of money, should be ashamed to call itself sushi and here's hoping that it's not open still after another 10 days. Save yourself & go to Mr. Tokyo if you want AYCE sushi. read more

Anything with an all you can eat concept is going to have a drawback. Love the concept and can't believe Charlotte is just now getting conveyor belt sushi. So you pay up front before eating. Weekends are dinner price all day. $16.99. If you want any sauces or condiments like soy sauce or spicy mayo, you grab it by the drink machines. I'm not a fan of getting my soy sauce out of a beverage dispenser. Also, the miso soup comes out of a machine. Didn't try it, but my friend did and he didn't like it. So once you have everything, you can start grabbing the sushi. Everything is labeled as it comes out. There are some apps like seaweed and cucumber salad as well as a few specialty rolls and sashimi. The rolls are a buffet quality. Some are sloppy in presentation, but they are okay. I didn't try the sashimi. Some rolls took a while to come around and were empty a couple of rounds. You can also order some fried apps and hibachi. The apps were okay, just a basic spring roll. And I didn't care for the hibachi. I got shrimp and veggies. There were way too many onions in the veggies and they were crunchy. I had a headache and couldn't eat it. The sauce was pretty mild and shrimp were bland with tails on. The portion is big, but I'd stick to the rolls. The concept is there, but it needs some work even for an all you can eat place. read more

What bothered me was the ingredients were definitely NOT FRESH. If you order those rolls they use heavy sauce so it's hard to tell. Overall the place had a nice concept, wished it would've been better the appetizers were up to my liking and they were cooked fresh, overall the sushi was a bit warm, wished it was a bit ventilated to keep the temperature at a certain degree for the sushi. PROS: For an all you can eat sushi for just 16.99 for dinner and 14.99 for lunch for adults. The layout of the place was nice and the way they have the condiments laid out for each customer to pick their sauces and dippings. They have a variety of sushi, but they could have done better with different styles, sweet potatoe in a sushi roll wasn't my biggest favorite, but could use a bit of work. The appetizers are a great feature, wish they had better dessert. Needs more appetizers, takes a little longer for service to come by (understandable cause its a tight squeeze to come through with the food cart) CONS: The seatings for groups could be better, felt a little cramped, the workers barely had room to walk past the customers pushing her cart. The sushi could've been set to a decent temperature. They could have done better but understandable because customers have to reach in and out for their sushi and desserts. Cups could've been at a decent size, I don't want nobody to choke cause the cup is just enough to give to my little niece or nephew. It was just so small that I had to keep going back for a refill. The front desk could have explained that we could have gotten our own drinks and condiments like soy sauce, wasabi, eel sauce, or spring roll dipping. If you haven't had decent sushi then I guess you have nothing to compare it to, but if you have had good sushi then this place will be pretty terrible. The rice is all wrong. It doesn't taste like sushi rice. The texture is harder. The rolls on the belt feel old. If there is a sauce, it is drenched. Anything fried on the belt, feels oily. It tastes like cheap sushi, but to be fair, it is all you can eat sushi. I think the best thing you can get here is ordering from the hot menu on the iPad. The hibachi is not the best, but it's decent. It is clean in there and service is fast and it's nice that they have a sauce station. I personally would just pay more for good sushi somewhere else. If I'm going to eat raw fish, then I'm gonna want it to be good quality. read more

The sushi here is so bad. I really wanted to like this place because I love the idea of conveyor belt sushi but the sushi was so dry and just... bad. The only decent thing was the crab rangoon and the tiny cakes. When you pay, you pay at the beginning and it makes you tip there too, without ever being served. And when you pay, the cashier doesn't even explain anything. If you want really good all you can eat sushi, I suggest Mr. Toyko. Still a fairly new place. There's not too many conveyor belt sushi places, so when one pops up, guarantee I will check it out. This is my 3rd conveyor belt place (first 2 being in ATL area). Unlike the previous two, this one is unlimited which is great. Arrived within the first hour of opening up for the day on a Saturday. Pretty much empty which I like. Sushi was excellent. Not much different than most sushi honestly. Just don't go for the desserts. Dry as hell. You pay before sitting down btw.
