Still a fairly new place. There's not too many conveyor belt sushi places, so when one pops up, guarantee I will check it out. This is my 3rd conveyor belt place (first 2 being in ATL area). Unlike the previous two, this one is unlimited which is great. Arrived within the first hour of opening up for the day on a Saturday. Pretty much empty which I like. Sushi was excellent. Not much different than most sushi honestly. Just don't go for the desserts. Dry as hell. You pay before sitting down btw. We really enjoyed the food here! For a family of four, the service was quick and the food was fresh. Right now the conveyor belt service is not offered due to the pandemic - however, there are iPads on the tables with which you order anything off the menu you heart desires. It was a huge selection. Appetizers, sushi rolls, desserts, hibachi - all from the iPad. The other thing that made me feel good about my visit was everyone wearing a mask and the deep cleaning of tables and surfaces between guests. They take it seriously and I appreciated that. I'm not sure why there are bad reviews. I've been twice in the last 2 weeks and each time was amazing! Definitely worth the money considering if you order 2 rolls from regular sushi place it's darn near $20. You get all you can eat plus you can order side dishes like rice, spring rolls, dumplings and more from the ipad at the table. During the dinner time weekday menu you can or Hibachi or teriyaki steak, chicken or shrimp. I have love just about every single piece of sushi..there are many options. They aren't using the conveyor belts at the moment due to COVID, so they have someone bring you the food. They also have some free sauces that you can ask for. The sushi is pretty good. I like that each roll isn't too big so that you can try many different rolls. I also really liked the crab rangoon. read more

Dined there with colleagues about a year ago, probably when they first opened or so. It's kind of what you would expect - not excellent quality sushi but still decent - seeing that you can get unlimited amounts of food as it moves past you on the conveyor belt. We ate 'til we needed a nap and instead had to go back to work and push through for remainder of day. We had issues with ordering from the tablet - not the sushi/items coming from the conveyor belt. We had to ask repeatedly about our food and clearly they either forgot or gave the food to another customer. It's fine, we accepted it and did eventually get it. Nothing too special but might return if friends/coworkers wish to dine there. Ambiance is lacking a little and some of the kinks are probably worked out now that it's established. Absolutely horrible. I've had a stomachache all day since eating the sushi. I don't know I ignored my instincts to turn right around and walk straight out the minute I hit the front door. But I had been so excited when I heard conveyor belt sushi was coming to Charlotte. It was immediately clear there is a lack of care and attention to detail in every aspect of this place. The sushi was terrible, the ambience was depressing. There was a woman pushing a cart around clearing up plates off tables in a way that made you feel like you were in a nursing home. I would not come back. The quality in the sushi is below "buffet sushi". We came for the grand opening day and the workers were very nice, the atmosphere was also nice. You do pay at the beginning and order some plates at the table like appetizers and hibachi plates. The food was not good at all both presentation and taste. We tried almost every roll, both steak and shrimp hibachi, shrimp shumai, shrimp tempura, egg roll, and dessert. The sushi rolls tasted bland and looked like it was just thrown together quickly. The nigiri was thin and chewy. The hibachi was bland, cold and tasteless. We dont believe in wasting food but some of the rolls had a terrible old fish taste to it. If you want to experience a good revolving sushi restaurant then I'd stick to the one in Atlanta. Hopefully with time this one will become better but as of now they have a lot to work on. read more

This place is .....weird. The minute you walk in the door it feels generic and cheap. It's a big black and gray space. There is nothing warm and inviting about it. The soy sauce comes in a lemonade dispenser it seems. Very odd. You get plastic wrapped utensils like you would from KFC. The drink cups are cardboard cafeteria style. Again, very cheap feel. The sushi just looks sad and warm going around and around the place. It is not one step above gas station sushi. The raw tuna etc looks like it had dried up and was turning into jerky. There was no "cold" feel to any of the items when you opened the conveyor belt door. Do yourself a favor and don't even bother checking it out. Save your $45 and go somewhere else. read more

If you're in the mood for quick, casual sushi that's not going to blow your mind but has a schtick this is your place. You pay when you enter and gather your utensils, drinks, and sauces in the front corner of the restaurant. You go to your allotted table and get started! The sushi rolls by on the conveyor belt and you just grab whatever you'd like. We were joking but kind of serious that it's not a good date spot because you're so distracted trying to see what sushi is coming down the conveyor belt so you can quickly grab it. The hot appetizers were pretty good. My favorite was the gyoza and the spring rolls. Everything came out super hot. Our friend got the steak hibachi and said it was good. The cakes were okay and the favorite was the tiramisu. Probably won't be back now that we've done it once but it was a experience! read more

Ate here tonight(8/29/2019), this was one of the worst meals I've had in a long time. The fish on the nigiri was chewy and it had a sort of metallic and "old" taste. I think the fish was frozen and rapidly thawed, perhaps? The fish on the nigiri was also rather warm.. typically the rice might be a bit warm, but the fish should be pretty cold if it was made fresh. The rolls were pretty lackluster as well, heavy on rice and the fish in them tasted bad as well. Overall, my girlfriend and I spent about $40 for two people + two drinks, and ate maybe a combined 10 plates before we'd tried too many things and had completely lost our appetite. Charlotte has a lot of bad sushi restaurants, and Rockin' Rolls is just one more in that list, unfortunately. read more

I was shocked this place has 2 stars. The food is pretty good. I loved the cucumber salad! The sushi is all you can eat and it kept coming! You pay one price, you get your sauces and your drink and then you sit at your assigned table. Easy peasy. They have a laptop thingy on the table where you can order additional small plates. Went to this restaurant for 5 months. Always looked forward to it. Am wondering if they have new owners. Won't be returing; here's why: (1) It's a dimmed light (dark) environement, soothing right? Not anymore - now they play very loud hip hop music - not want I want to hear relaxing at lunch. In the past it was relaxing music. (2) The sushi selection is suddenly greatly reduced and the maakis were not yummy like before, sort of boring. (3) Ordered the vegetable tempura which prior had been so good. This time not so great. (4) A person working in the kitchen must have been incredibly angry -- slamming and banging very loudly dishes and other things non-stop for 40 of the 45 minutes I was there. Left w/ a headaches. Never witnessed such a thing in a restaurant in my life. There were other things to make me not want to return, but I'll stop there. I was very excited when I found out that there was a conveyor belt sushi restaurant in Charlotte North Carolina. I've been wanting to visit one of these types of establishments for a long time. All I can say is wow! I was extremely pleased with the service and with the sushi. You would think that conveyor belt sushi would not be the best and that it might not be fresh but I can tell you that their sushi is not only fresh but delicious. I was pleasantly surprised. I spoke with the owner of the restaurant and they are delightful people. The restaurant has only been in business for two months and has not received a tremendous amount of press. He loves sushi you will love this place. It was reasonably priced at $10.50 for lunch. That is insane for all you can eat sushi. I had salmon, tuna and shrimp nigiri. They also have quite a few entrées that you can order as well including steak and shrimp. Hall this is included in the price All I can say is if you haven't been there GO! I was not impressed by the all you can eat sushi conveyor belt. I order from here a lot from the takeout menu and love it. You get a lot more sushi per roll and it tastes fresher. If you dine in, the all you can eat conveyor belt looks fun and is only $17.99 on weekdays and weekend lunches, but it wasn't very good. The sushi tasted old and they cut the sashimi into slivers. This place is novel and I tried it because I liked the concept of the conveyer system and heard good things, however, my experience was terrible. There was a very small option of items on the conveyor. About 10 different items to choose from, so there's not a lot to choose from. The drink machines were dirty and when attempting to get water my hand was coated in a sticky unknown substance. With a party of three, we quickly had a tower of plates on the table. The plates were never picked up by the staff and theres no where to take your plates. There are iPads to order other items from the menu. We placed an order and after 45 minutes we found out the order never made it to the kitchen. The iPad we had was broken. They quickly rushed back to make our order and brought it out. Hibachi Vegetable, Hibachi Chicken. The food was so dry and bland it was unpalatable. I will not be returning here and do not recommend it for anyone. There are better places to spend $15 dollars for a meal. The service is bad, the food was bad and the option of what was palatable was slim and contested. If you get the wrong seat, you'll never get any food because it will all be gone before it gets to you. read more

This is my all-time favorite restaurant. I originally started coming here because the idea of conveyor belt sushi seemed like a fun experience, which it is. The food here is the thing that keeps bringing me back though. It is absolutely delicious and it is all you can eat for a very reasonable price. After reopening in 2020, the conveyor belt was not used anymore and the ordering is done through an iPad at the table. It is still a great experience and I think the food is even better than before. All the employees are incredibly kind and welcoming. I hope they open more locations around Charlotte and beyond! read more

I will rate this 4/5 I went a few days after opening. The inside is sleek and gray. Hearing about conveyer belt sushi restaurants in japan and getting one here in Charlotte is awesome! You can a few warm appetizers from the ipad on your table like crab rangoon, beef gyoza, and spring rolls. They also have Entrees like fried rice, hibachi chicken, steak or vegetable. Once you get inside they will ring you up for your meal so you can take as long as you want. They will give you a tray so you can get all the sauces you want since they do not have those on the table. They have miso soup but the broth was really bland even with the tofu and scallions I added . Slide into your table and start watching the conveyer belt go by as little sushi plates spin around. They have signs that explain what is in the sushi and have a picture of it too. If you are bringing any kids make sure you are on the side with the door so they dont touch other food. After every sushi you grab its courteous to close the door to keep everything sanitary. I am really hoping this place keeps adding more sushi and gets the love it deserves. read more

This place was so fantastic It was so much fun The food was fresh I even ordered you was that it was so hot I couldn't eat it so I know it was fresh. You get to like have as much wasabi and ginger as you want not like so pea sized thing that usually get with restaurants. My kids loved it to be able just to pull out sushi and eat it.
